Helical jumper connector
A helical jumper connector includes a helical support member configured to support a wire. The helical support member includes a first leg having a first helical winding and a second leg having a second helical winding that defines a second axial opening. The first axial opening and the second axial opening are coaxial with the wire when the first helical winding and the second helical winding are wrapped around the wire and cooperatively engage with one another to support the wire. A jumper casting is configured to receive the helical support member. The helical support member and the jumper casting are electrically conductive such that the helical jumper connector forms an electrically conductive pathway to carry electrical current from the wire. A method of making a helical jumper connector assembly includes applying a compression force to a helical jumper connector comprising a helical support member received in a jumper casting.
Systems and methods for attachment of multiple utility conductors using a megavang
A system for attaching communication utility lines to a pole includes a body portion, the body portion including a plurality of attachment apertures. The system further includes a plurality of vangs located along the body portion, the vangs spaced apart and each including an aperture for receiving a communication utility line.

Insulator and conductor cover for electrical distribution systems
A dielectric cover for an insulator and conductor in an electrical distribution includes an insulator cover portion for covering the insulator. A knob and ridge extend down from an inside ceiling of the insulator cover portion. An arm, for covering a portion of the conductor extending from the insulator, has a top keyhole, where the keyhole has a wide portion that fits over the knob in a first position and a narrow portion that restricts vertical movement of the arm in a locked position when the arm is withdrawn slightly. The arm also has a resilient tab that snaps over the ridge in the locked position, wherein the knob in combination with the keyhole restrict further withdrawing of the arm from the insulator cover portion in the locked position, and the tab contacting the ridge restricts further insertion of the arm into the insulator cover portion in the locked position.
Methods for installing a riser glove onto cables extending form a riser conduit
A riser glove for shielding and/or sealing cables extending from a riser conduit includes a wrist portion sized for a sealing fit over the riser conduit, and a plurality of finger portions extending from the wrist portion. The finger portions taper from a widest section adjacent the wrist portion to a narrowest section at distal ends thereof. The finger portions include incremental indicators along lengths thereof corresponding to different cable gauges, respectively.
STRAIN RELEASE CONNECTOR FOR AN OVERHEAD ELECTRICAL WIRE
A strain release connector for an overhead electrical wire includes a first connector part securable to the overhead electrical wire with a fixed clamping force, and a second connector part cooperable with the first connector part and securable to a service cable with an adjustable clamping force, less than the fixed clamping force. The second connector part has at least one strain adjustment screw for modifying the adjustable clamping force. The adjustable clamping force is set by the at least one strain adjustment screw such that the second connector part is configured to release the service cable upon an application of a predetermined tension force.
Joint-use bracket for installing communication lines on utility pole
A joint-use bracket (JUB) for use for installing multiple cables associated with communication lines onto a joint-use section of a utility pole is disclosed. The JUB comprises: a curved plate having a generally rectangular shape elongated in a longitudinal direction and curved along a lateral direction, the curved plate formed to have multiple attachment holes therethrough and have multiple slots laterally formed on the front surface; multiple platforms, each platform contiguously formed on the front surface of the curved plate and having multiple receiving holes; multiple blocks configured to engage with the platforms, respectively, each block having multiple joining holes; and multiple joining fasteners configured to be inserted through the joining holes and the receiving holes, to fasten the block to the platform to clamp the cable that is placed laterally between the block and the platform, thereby to hold the cable securely.
