WIRE GUARD DEVICE
20190383427 · 2019-12-19 · ·

Disclosed is a cable guard device configured to be driven into ground near a transition point on an edge line delineating a yard area from a hardscape. Embodiments of the cable guard device comprise at least one stake portion, a cable guard channel configured to receive a cable, and a cable guard extension. When the cable is received through the cable guard channel and the at least one stake portion is driven into ground near the transition point on the edge line delineating the yard area from the hardscape, the cable channel guard protects from damage a first portion of the cable over the yard area and the cable guard extension protects from damage a second portion of the cable over the hardscape.

Outdoor pathway splice

An outdoor cable pathway splice comprises a splice tape comprising a first adhesive layer and a reinforcing layer disposed on one major surface of the adhesive layer. The first adhesive layer is capable of adhering to a concrete or asphalt surface. The splice tape is configured to join first and second distribution cabling tapes in an end-to-end manner when deployed. Each distribution cabling tape includes a continuous lengthwise channel configured to receive at least one distribution cable, wherein the at least one distribution cable is covered by the splice tape when deployed.

POWER DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM

A power distribution system includes a track having a first end, a second end opposite the first end, and a longitudinal axis extending through the first and second ends. The track defines a channel extending along the longitudinal axis. A plurality of power cables is positioned within the channel. A electrical hub is movably coupled to the second end of the track. The electrical hub is electrically connected to the plurality of power cables and includes a power receptacle. The electrical hub is movable relative to the second end of the track to change a position of the power receptacle relative to the track.

A can plaza assembly is configured to provide electrical distribution at a location. The can plaza has a box, further comprising a side wall opening and joined to a lid. A plurality of cans is arranged inside the can plaza. Conduits project outward from each can. Fittings are joined to the conduit and extend through the side wall opening of the box. Foam fills the box around the cans and the conduits, such that the foam does not completely cover the cans. Rebar is arranged twelve inches on center each way from the cans on top of the foam. Concrete fills upon the rebar and foam up to an upper edge of the can. Electrical wires are routed through the conduits and cans provide the electrical distribution at the location.

MODULAR CABLE PROTECTOR

A plurality of modular cable protectors can be removably connected in series by complementary end connectors at each end. Each cable protector also includes a number of tool engagement features that that can be removably engaged by a tool that enables a user to exert an upward force to disengage the end connectors on adjacent cable protectors. For example, the tool engagement features can be slots in the top surface of the cable protector with undercuts adjacent to the lower ends of the slots. A tool with vertical rods is manually inserted into the slots to disengage the cable protectors. Horizontal projections at the bottom of the vertical rods engage the undercuts in the slots, and allow the user to disengage adjacent cable protectors by lifting upward on the tool.

A modular cable protector can be removably connected in series with like cable protectors by complementary male and female end connectors. A number of openings extend downward along the peripheral walls of the adjacent end connectors to define a pattern of gaps and regions of contact between adjacent end connectors. Preferably, undercuts extend from the lower portions of the openings. A tool can be used to removably engage these openings and undercuts, thereby allowing a user to exert an upward force to disengage the end connectors on adjacent cable protectors.

Apical Radiator

Novel tools and techniques are provided for implementing FTTx, which might include Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH), Fiber-to-the-Premises (FTTP), and/or the like. A method might include routing an F1 line(s) from a central office or DSLAM to a fiber distribution hub (FDH) located within a block or neighborhood of customer premises, via at least an apical conduit source slot. From the FDH, an F2 line(s) might be routed, via any combination of various apical conduit components, to a network access point (NAP) servicing one or more customer premises. An F3 line(s) might be distributed, at the NAP and from the F2 line(s), to a network interface device (NID) or optical network terminal (ONT) at each customer premises, via any combination of the apical conduit components, which include channels in at least portions of roadways. In some embodiments, at least one wireless access point is disposed in each of one or more channels.
