Cladding tube for enveloping an underwater conduit
A cladding tube (1) for enveloping an underwater conduit (2), such as a pipeline or a cable line, has at least one clamping portion (6), which comprises at least one deformation portion (6A, 6B, 6C) being integrally manufactured with the cladding tube (1), which deformation portion (6A, 6B, 6C) is a first wall portion of the cladding tube (1), which has a larger thickness in the radial direction than at least one second wall portion (8) of the clamping portion concerned, in such manner that by the larger thickness the first wall portion is, and the at least one second wall portion (8) is not, pressed against the underwater conduit (2) by a tensioning strap (7) being tensioned all round. The deformation portion concerned is easy to produce, durable and reliable. Thanks to the at least one clamping portion the cladding tube can be designed in harder and lower-cost materials than the soft, flexible poly urethane, which is usually applied nowadays.
METHOD OF MAKING AN INNERDUCT FOR A CONDUIT
A method of fabricating a multi-compartment innerduct includes the steps of positioning a plurality of longitudinally extending, laterally spaced, strips of adhesive on a longitudinally extending sheet of fabric material, connecting adjacent of the strips together to form compartments, and attaching the compartments together.
SEPARATION DUCT HAVING LONGITUDINAL SPACERS
A separation duct for encompassing an elongate member. The duct includes longitudinal internal spacers extend longitudinally in a direction of a longitudinal axis of the duct. A longitudinal plane for each spacer is substantially parallel to the longitudinal plane of the other spacers. The spacers support the elongate member and resist slippage of the duct relative to the elongate member. The duct may be used to provide separation and protection for elongate members of a range of outside dimensions.

Conduit with latch system
A conduit system for protection of wiring or tubing comprising a tubular shaped conduit with latch system designed to allow insertion of electrical wiring without disconnection of the wiring or without threading the wiring through the conduit. The latch system is comprised of an internal latch, external latch or both and is formed to such that the conduit maintains its structural integrity while facilitating full and easy access to the electrical wiring contained within.
Process for forming a divided conduit
A method of producing a divided conduit containing, in order forming a strip-shaped textile having a first longitudinal edge and a second longitudinal edge, extruding a molten thermoplastic polymer into the form of an at least partially molten conduit having an inner surface and an outer surface, and placing at least one strip-shaped substrate within the at least partially molten conduit during or directly after conduit formation such that the first longitudinal and second longitudinal edges of the strip-shaped substrate embed into the inner surface of the conduit. The strip-shaped textile is selected from the group consisting of a woven, non-woven, and knit and the strip-shaped textile is air permeable. The inner surface and outer surface of the conduit is continuous.
Method and apparatus for producing a submarine cable, and submarine cable produced therewith
A method and to an apparatus for producing a submarine cable containing a number of conductors, in particular energy conductors and/or data conductors, that are accommodated inside a cable-protecting pipe, is provided. The following method steps being carried out: a) providing the conductors and the cable-protecting sheath and conveying the same into a common assembly region; b) bringing the conductors and the cable-protecting pipe together; c) opening the separating slit in the cable-protecting pipe such that an insertion opening of the open separating slit is formed; e) holding the open separating slit open; f) inserting the conductors into the cable-protecting pipe through the insertion opening in the open separating slit; and g) releasing the open separating slit.
Fabric and die design for divided conduit
A method of forming a conduit having at least one strip-shaped fabric substrate dividing the conduit into channels. The method contains obtaining an extrusion die configured to form the wall of the conduit and a slot configured for receipt of a strip-shaped fabric substrate and introducing a strip-shaped fabric substrate into the slot. The strip-shaped textile is air permeable and contains enlarged regions at the first and second longitudinal edges. Molten polymer is introduced at a first point in the extrusion die and at the first point the slot and the area configured to form the wall of the conduit are not in communication. The slot is exposed to the molten polymer at a point between the first point and the die exit forming the first polymeric layer of the conduit such that the first longitudinal and second longitudinal edges of the strip-shaped fabric substrate embed into the molten polymer.
APPARATUS FOR DIVIDING A DUCT OR CONDUIT
A pliant tube is positioned in a duct thereby defining two compartments in the duct, one within the tube and the other between the tube and the duct. A pulling device, such as a pull tape or rope, is provided in each compartment and is adapted to be attached to a cable so that a cable can be pulled into each compartment of the duct.
Conduit divider in the form of a cable with fabric sleeve
A communications cable (11) is provided with a pliant sleeve (12, 21, 31) to allow it to be more easily inserted into a conduit (50). One form of the sleeve (12) has hook (14) and loop (15) connected to each other so that the sleeve (12) can engage the cable (11). Another form of the sleeve (21) is spring-loaded to engage the cable (11). In a third form of the sleeve (31) has an adhesive (33) which attaches the sleeve (31) to the cable (11). Whatever form the sleeve cable takes, when in the conduit (50), the conduit (50) is divided for the ease of insertion of a second sleeved cable and it is not necessary to install a separate conduit divider into the conduit.
