Connection apparatus
A connection apparatus 10 for mounting a cable to a structure such as a wind turbine or oil rig. The apparatus 10 including a receiving member 14 having a hollow body with a diverging mouth, a latch member 22 movably mounted on the outside of the receiving member 14 with a latch part 24 extending into the receiving member 14. A mounting member 16 is provided which mounts the cable extending therethrough. The mounting member 16 is selectively locatable in the receiving member 14 with the latch part 24 engaging with a retaining formation in the form of a groove 56 to retain the mounting member 16 in the receiving member 14 and hence retain the cable mounted to the structure.

LITZ WIRE SOLDER TERMINATION
A method for litz wire termination includes placing a ferrule over exposed conductors on an end of litz wire. The exposed conductors include a portion of the litz wire without an external insulation layer, and a portion at the end of the litz wire protrude past the ferrule. The method includes crimping the ferrule to the litz wire and placing the end of the litz wire with the ferrule in molten solder past the end of the ferrule. The method includes maintaining the litz wire in the molten solder until insulation on conductors of the litz wire is removed from the conductors in the molten solder and solder bonds to the conductors that are within in the molten solder. The method includes removing the litz wire from the molten solder and allowing the litz wire to cool until molten solder bonded to the conductors transitions to a solid state.
Telecommunication system comprising a cable distribution assembly
A telecommunication system powers and distributes a signal within a telecommunication network. The system includes a cable distribution assembly includes a housing defining an interior. The housing includes a body and a cover configured to provide access to the interior. The cover includes at least two connectors. The cable distribution assembly includes a splitter coupled to the cover. At least two distribution cables each extend between a first end and a second end. Each of the first ends are coupled to the splitter. Each of the second ends of the distribution cables individually correspond to, and are connected to, the connectors. The splitter, the at least two distribution cables, and the at least two connectors are continuously coupled to the cover when mounted to and removed from the body. A trunk cable assembly includes a power cable connected to the splitter and communication cables connected to the connectors.

Insulator for a cable end
The disclosure provides an insulator for an end of a cable, the insulator having a longitudinal body in which a central channel is provided, the insulator including a connector system arranged in the central channel, the system comprising a connection pin for receiving an end segment of the cable, the pin being shaped so as to present an inside surface that is serrated.
Power Cable Termination System
A power cable termination system including: a power cable having a power cable conductor and a power cable insulation system configured to electrically insulate the power cable conductor, a termination cable having a termination cable conductor and a termination cable insulation system configured to electrically insulate the termination cable insulation system, wherein the termination cable is at least one order of magnitude shorter than the power cable, wherein the termination cable conductor has an electrical resistance which is lower than the electrical resistance of the power cable conductor and/or the termination cable insulation system has a higher insulation resistance per unit length than the power cable insulation system, a joint configured to join the power cable and the termination cable, and a cable termination device configured to terminate the termination cable.

Liquid epoxy brush barrier
An electrical fitting including a body having an inner cavity for receiving a plurality of conductors, the inner cavity including a first portion extending to a first exterior opening and a second portion extending to a second exterior opening, and a brush barrier positioned within the inner cavity between the first portion and the second portion, the brush barrier including an outer edge and a plurality of bristles extending inwardly from the outer edge, the bristles being displaceable by the conductors, wherein the electrical fitting is configured to receive a sealing compound within the first portion of the inner cavity between the first exterior opening of the first portion and the brush barrier, the sealing compound being at least partially prevented from propagating into the second portion of the inner cavity by the brush barrier.
Universal load bearing cable connector
Provided are load bearing universal adaptors for connecting electrical cables in a watertight configuration. The mechanical advantage associated with wedges in a tapered cavity ensures that load is appropriately transferred to the walls of the wedge housing and, as the load increases, the gripping force on the electrical cable increases. In this manner, a load applied to the electrical cable is at least partially provided to the walls of the system rather than acting to pull the cable out of the adaptor, and the object to which the adaptor is connected, such as a terminal block.
