SYSTEM AND METHOD OF STERILELY CONNECTING FLUID PATHWAYS
20190192844 · 2019-06-27 ·

A sterile tube connector for a fluid circuit system comprising a housing. A first opening is configured to receive a first length of tubing in communication with a first chamber. A second opening is configured for communicating with the first chamber when the tube connector is in an open configuration but not in a closed configuration. The second opening is configured to reversibly engage a third opening to form a second chamber. The third opening is configured for communicating with a second length of tubing. A first portion of the housing forming the first opening comprises a material at least partially permeable to a sterilization energy source for sterilizing contents of the second chamber.

Needleless IV Injection Port

An injection port assembly comprises a body having a first mating structure and a second mating structure coupled together. A resilient barrier is received within the body and compressible between a less compressed first position in which fluid flow through the injection port assembly is blocked, to a more compressed second position in which fluid flow through the injection port assembly is permitted. A hollow cannula is coupled to the first mating structure and configured to be received within the resilient barrier. The hollow cannula has a distal end portion configured to extend through the resilient barrier when the resilient barrier is in the more compressed second position. The hollow cannula is opaque and both the second mating structure and the resilient barrier are transparent, so that any fluid leakage into the internal cavity of the resilient barrier is visible through the resilient barrier and the second mating structure against an opaque background provided by the opaque cannula.

CLOSED MALE LUER DEVICE FOR USE WITH NEEDLELESS ACCESS DEVICES

A medical connector can include a body having a fluid path with an inlet port, an outlet port, a luer portion, and a post extending through a fluid path. An arm having a latch member is coupled to the body to engage a ridge or thread on an exterior surface of a reciprocal connector. The arm may also include an extension. When the connector is in an open position, the latch member restricts retraction of the reciprocal connector from the outlet port. A seal is coupled to the body and includes a flap extending across the outlet port or a bellows to compress along an axis. In a closed position, the post restricts flow through the luer portion. In an open position, the post permits flow through the luer portion.

MEDICAL CONNECTOR WITH CLOSEABLE LUER CONNECTOR

Some embodiments relate to a luer connector comprising a housing having a hollow bore therethrough, a first end, and a second end, a male luer tip supported by the housing configured to rotate with respect to the housing, the luer tip having a first open end and a passageway through the luer tip in fluid communication with the first open end, and a substantially rigid internal member extending into the passageway of the luer tip toward the first open end of the luer tip. In some embodiments, at least one of the luer tip and the internal member can be axially moveable between a first closed position and a second open position relative to the other of the luer tip and the internal member. Further, the luer tip and the internal member can cooperate such that rotation of the luer tip in a first direction relative to the housing increases an axial displacement between the first open end of the luer tip and an end portion of the internal member.

ADAPTER FOR MALE CONNECTOR AND MALE CONNECTOR WITH ADAPTER

An adapter (100) has a through hole (103). A first end portion (101) of the adapter includes a tubular portion (110) on which a first projection (111) and a second projection (112) are provided. The adapter can be connected to a male connector at a first position where a claw (32) of the male connector is engaged with the first projection (111) and at a second position where the claw (32) is engaged with the second projection (112). When the adapter is connected at the first position, a flow channel (11) of a male member (10) is sealed with a cover (4). When the adapter is connected at the second position, the adapter compressively deforms an outer circumferential wall (45) of the cover so that the flow channel of the male member is in communication with the through hole (103) of the adapter.

MEDICAL CONNECTOR

A medical connector includes a housing with a central axis, a hollow bore, and a narrowed passage. The connector further includes a rigid valve member configured to move along the axis of the connector as the connector moves between an open and closed configuration. The connector includes a resilient member coupled to the valve member and the housing.

BREAKAWAY CONNECTOR

A breakaway connector generally includes a first valve having a first rotating-type fluid control member, and a second valve that is attachable to the first valve and has a second rotating-type fluid control member. Each of the fluid control members has an open position in which fluid is permitted to flow through the respective valve, and a closed position in which fluid is prevented from flowing through the respective valve. Each one of the valves is configured to engage the fluid control member of the other one of the valves to move the fluid control member from the open position to the closed position upon detachment of the valves from one another.
