MEDICAL CONNECTOR HAVING ELONGATED PORTION WITHIN SEAL COLLAR
Some embodiments disclosed herein relate to medical connectors with a housing comprising a proximal body member and a base member that form an internal cavity with a proximal abutment surface. An elastomeric seal without a guide member is positioned within the internal cavity. A rigid, hollow elongated portion is located within the internal cavity such that in an open configuration, a tip of the elongated portion is more proximal than a proximal surface of the elastomeric seal. A distal portion of the elastomeric seal is seated radially within a region surrounded by a plurality of longitudinally extending protrusions.

Needleless connector having check valve with lip seal
A valve member for a connector includes a head portion, a body portion, and a circumferential lip seal extending radially outward from an outer surface of the head portion. The head portion includes a top section defining a first seal portion. The body portion extends longitudinally from the head portion and defines a second seal portion at a proximal end thereof. The second seal portion is disposed distally to the first seal portion. The circumferential lip seal is disposed between the first and second seal portions.
SELF FLUSHING VALVE
Connector assemblies are disclosed. A connector assembly includes a housing with a post and a valve surrounds the post. The valve is displaceable and based upon the displacement allows fluid to pass therethrough. While providing fluid, a fluid delivery device provides an external force to displace the valve, causing the valve to form a fluid pocket that receives fluid from the fluid delivery device. As the fluid delivery device is removed from the connector assembly, the fluid pocket collapses and drives fluid stored in the fluid pocket through an opening in the post, where the fluid flows downstream to a catheter line. Additionally, the valve closes and covers the post prior to removal of the fluid delivery device. The collapsing fluid pocket and the valve closing prevent the fluid previously in the fluid pocket from upstream fluid flow otherwise caused by removal of the fluid delivery device.
FLUID CONNECTOR ASSEMBLY THAT SEALS FLOW PATHS WHEN THE CONNECTORS ARE DISCONNECTED
Fluid connector assemblies that seal off fluid paths in the respective connectors are disclosed. When connectors of a fluid connector assembly are connected to each other, respective compressible members in the connectors are displaced, allowing downstream fluid passage through the fluid connector assembly. The connectors maintain a connection by a snap mechanism that provides a threshold retention force. When an external force greater than the threshold force is applied to the fluid connector assembly, the snap mechanism may no longer maintain the connectors together, causing the connectors to decouple from each other. However, each of the compressible members can return to their respective original positions and shapes to seal off respective fluid paths in the connectors, thus preventing further downstream and upstream flow through the fluid connector assembly and limiting or preventing fluid loss.
MEDICINAL PRODUCT, FUNCTIONAL PART FOR A MEDICINAL PRODUCT, AND METHOD FOR STERILIZING AND/OR FOR PRODUCING STERILIZATION STABILITY IN A MEDICINAL PRODUCT OR FUNCTIONAL PART
A medical device, an elastically deformable functional part for a medical device, and a method for sterilizing and/or for establishing sterilization resistance of a medical device or an elastically deformable functional part. The elastically deformable functional part has an openable slit arrangement. The slit arrangement widens or opens upon elastic deformation of the elastically deformable functional part and recloses upon cessation of the elastic deformation. The slit arrangement has slit wall faces with a separating agent. The separating agent can be a solid.
Reusable aseptic fluid couplings
Some fluid coupling devices described herein are configured for use in fluid systems for purposes of providing a repeatable, aseptic fluid coupling system. Such repeatable, aseptic fluid coupling systems are configured to facilitate multiple connection and disconnection cycles while repeatably establishing a sterile fluid pathway through the coupling system. The repeatable, aseptic fluid coupling systems can repeatably establish a sterile fluid pathway through the coupling system even though the coupling system may be used in a non-sterile environment.
NEEDLELESS ACCESS CONNECTORS AND VALVE ELEMENTS THEREFOR
A collapsible valve for use in a needleless access connector to reduce the priming volume of the needleless access connector. A needleless access connector with a small priming volume. A method of connecting a first medical device to a second medical device with a needleless access connector with a small priming volume.
Compressible cannula valve
A needleless valve system includes a cannula comprising a cannula tip; a valve comprising a valve tip, wherein the valve is disposed around the cannula; and a housing comprising a housing tip, wherein the cannula tip, the valve tip, and the housing tip comprise a flat surface when the needleless valve system is in a sealed position.
