COLLAPSIBLE VALVE
A collapsible valve comprising a first portion with at least one dimple in a side thereof, and a second portion, the second portion being narrower than the first portion and arranged along an axial dimension of the first portion, the second portion including a cut therein.
PRIMING DEVICE
Described is a priming device to prime a gas from a fluid delivery system by receiving the gas and a fluid used to push the gas into a chamber, the priming device including a housing having a chamber, an inlet port, and an opening to release gas received into the chamber. The device further includes a sleeve having an open first end for coupling with a male luer connector, a second end coupled to the housing, and an axis between the first and second ends. The sleeve defines at least one window. The device further includes an arm extending from a bottom of each window toward the first end, and a member extending radially from an inner surface of each arm. Each member has a ramp surface, an engagement surface extending transversely to the ramp surface, and an apex area that transitions between the ramp surface and the engagement surface
MEDICAL CONNECTOR WITH ELONGATED PORTION WITHIN SEAL COLLAR
Some embodiments disclosed herein relate to medical connectors with a housing comprising a proximal body member and a base member that form an internal cavity with a proximal abutment surface. An elastomeric seal without a guide member is positioned within the internal cavity. A rigid, hollow elongated portion is located within the internal cavity such that in an open configuration, a tip of the elongated portion is more proximal than a proximal surface of the elastomeric seal.
VENT DEVICES AND RELATED METHODS
A vent device (100, 140) for venting gas from a line of a medical device having gas to be removed has several different variations. The vent device can include an inlet (102) in communication, when in use, with an interior of the line, and an outlet (104) in communication with air outside the line or is open to the atmosphere. The inlet and the outlet define opposite ends of a flow path (106) configured to vent gas from the interior of the line out to the outside of the line, and to inhibit flow of liquid from the interior of the line out the outlet of the vent device.
NEUTRAL DISPLACEMENT CONNECTOR
Fluid connectors assemblies that provide neutral fluid displacement without overlapping connectors are disclosed. A fluid connector assembly may include a housing and a pair of connectors (e.g., luers) coupled with the housing. A compressible member is located within the housing. The first connector and the second connector each include a post with an opening. The compressible member can seal off the opening of the first connector from fluid entry. However, when the post of the second connector is inserted into the housing, the post of the second connector displaces the compressible member, causing the compressible member to create a fluid path, thereby allowing fluid to flow through the internal volume of the housing. Further, the compressible member seals the housing until each of the first connector and the second connector are coupled therewith forming a fluid path through the posts.
Fluid infusion device and related sealing assembly for a needleless fluid reservoir
Disclosed herein is a fluid infusion device of the type that delivers medication fluid to the body of a patient. The device includes or cooperates with a fluid reservoir, and the device has a sealing assembly to receive and form a fluid seal with the fluid reservoir. A retractable sealing element surrounding a hollow fluid delivery needle may be used to seal a port of the fluid reservoir. The port may include a pressure vent that is sealed by the retractable sealing element. In one variation, the reservoir includes a moving valve sleeve that holds a septum. The septum moves to allow the reservoir to vent, and to form a seal with the port when the needle pierces the septum. In another variation, the device includes a needleless sealing assembly. In yet other variations, the device uses a needled fluid reservoir.
Male Luer with fluid path and vent path seals
A needleless connector includes a body having a fluid path, a vent path, and a male fitting. The needleless connector also includes a valve disposed within the male fitting. The valve is configured to move between a first configuration, in which the fluid path is blocked, and a second configuration, in which the fluid path is open. The needleless connector further includes a seal disposed around the valve. The seal is configured to separate the fluid path from the vent path in the first and second configurations. Moving the valve from the first configuration to the second configuration also opens the vent path. The seal maintains the separation between the fluid path and the vent path when the valve moves from the first configuration to the second configuration.
CONNECTOR
A connector includes: a housing that includes a tubular body connecting unit to which a tubular body is connectable, a concave portion inside the housing, and a receiving portion; and a valve body configured such that, when the tubular body is connected to the tubular body connecting unit, the valve body is pressed by the tubular body against a biasing force, thereby sliding from a closed position to an opened position. The valve body includes an overriding portion configured such that, as the valve body slides from a closed position side toward an opened position side, the overriding portion is pressed against the receiving portion of the housing and rides over the receiving portion by elastic deformation.
Collapsible valve
A collapsible valve comprising a first portion with at least one dimple in a side thereof, and a second portion, the second portion being narrower than the first portion and arranged along an axial dimension of the first portion, the second portion including a cut therein.
Priming device
Described is a priming device to prime a gas from a fluid delivery system by receiving the gas and a fluid used to push the gas into a chamber, the priming device including a cover body having a lid, and a housing having a chamber, an inlet port and an opening to release gas received into the chamber. The device has a priming-ready configuration where the medical connector and the housing are coupled with the cover body, and the fluid path of the medical connector and the passage of the housing remain sealed, a priming configuration where the medical connector is advanced in the cover body to fluidly couple with the housing, and a post-priming configuration where the housing is decoupled from the cover body and the lid closed to prevent contamination of the medical connector.
