Medical connector with closeable luer connector

Some embodiments relate to a luer connector comprising a housing having a hollow bore therethrough, a first end, and a second end, a male luer tip supported by the housing configured to rotate with respect to the housing, the luer tip having a first open end and a passageway through the luer tip in fluid communication with the first open end, and a substantially rigid internal member extending into the passageway of the luer tip toward the first open end of the luer tip. In some embodiments, at least one of the luer tip and the internal member can be axially moveable between a first closed position and a second open position relative to the other of the luer tip and the internal member. Further, the luer tip and the internal member can cooperate such that rotation of the luer tip in a first direction relative to the housing increases an axial displacement between the first open end of the luer tip and an end portion of the internal member.

Axially engaging medical connector system with diminished fluid remnants

A connector system for medical fluid includes a male connector and a female connector that have a closed configuration when detached from one another. The first end of the male connector is configured to mate with a first end of the female connector. When the male connector is coupled with the female connector, complementary structures engage to move seals away from ports in the male connector and the female connector, opening a fluid pathway through the connectors. The mating ends of the connectors are not exposed to the medical fluid when the connectors are coupled so that when the connectors are disconnected, the mating ends are substantially free of residual medical fluid.

Connecting device for a medical infusion system

A connecting device for a medical infusion system includes a connection piece which has a connecting profile for the connection of a functional part of the infusion system. The connecting device also has a resiliently flexible, cup-like valve body which is arranged in the connection piece and has a valve casing and cap-shaped top region which is provided with a slit arrangement. Further, the connecting device has a dimensionally stable base portion on which a base ring of the valve casing is supported and which is firmly connected to the connection piece. In the unloaded initial state, the valve casing has a convex internal contour which, starting from the cap-shaped top region, first expands in the direction of the base ring and subsequently narrows again, forming an O-like internal longitudinal section. The connecting device can be in the form of a three-way stopcock for an infusion system.

Breakaway connector

A breakaway connector generally includes a first valve having a first rotating-type fluid control member, and a second valve that is attachable to the first valve and has a second rotating-type fluid control member. Each of the fluid control members has an open position in which fluid is permitted to flow through the respective valve, and a closed position in which fluid is prevented from flowing through the respective valve. Each one of the valves is configured to engage the fluid control member of the other one of the valves to move the fluid control member from the open position to the closed position upon detachment of the valves from one another.

SYRINGE ADAPTER

An exemplary syringe adapter for coupling with a syringe may include a housing. A needle-free connector may be disposed in the housing. A communication member may be in slidable engagement with the housing. The communication member may be slidable, with respect to the housing, between an unactuated state and an actuated state of the syringe adapter. A cannula may extend from the communication. In the unactuated state, the cannula may be retracted within the needle-free connector. In the actuated state, the cannula may protrude through and axially beyond the needle-free connector.

CHECK VALVE

A check valve for use in a fluid pathway. The check valve may have a diaphragm and a plurality of supports extending from the diaphragm. The check valve and supports have a line of symmetry, and deformation of the check valve as it moves from a closed position to an opened position can be generally along the line of symmetry.

Coupling device

A coupling device (100) for transferring a fluid is provided. The coupling device comprises a first housing (110), a tube portion (140) projecting into the first housing, and a second housing (200) displaceably arranged within the first housing. The coupling device further comprises a third housing (300) releasably connectable to the second housing and displaceably arranged within the first housing when connected to the second housing. In a first position of the second housing, the first and second channels constitute a passage which is sealed by the first and second sealing elements when the second housing and the third housing are connected. In a second position, the tube portion projects through the first and second sealing elements and into the sealed passage for enabling a transfer of fluid through the coupling device.

INSERTION DEVICE WITH HORIZONTALLY MOVING PART

The invention relates to an insertion device comprisinga penetrating member (50) connected to transformation means (52), a moving part (38) comprising guiding means (39) which guiding means (39) restrict the movement of the transformation means (52) and guide the penetrating member (50) from a first to a second position in a first direction, i.e. the direction of insertion, towards the injection site, anda stationary housing (30) comprising guiding means (32) which guiding means (32) restrict the movement of the moving part (38). The guiding means (32) guide the moving part (38) in a second direction which is linear and different from the first direction i.e. the direction of insertion.
