CLAMPING DEVICE FOR MEDICAL APPARATUS
The invention relates to a clamping device for clamping a flexible tube having a bearing element with a bearing surface and a clamping element with a clamping surface. The clamping element moves between an obturation position and a closed position. In the obturation position the flexible tube is placed is along the bearing surface and the clamping surface is obstructed. In the closed position the bearing surface and the clamping surface are in contact, and a control unit is configured to actuate the clamping element from the open position towards the closed position until it is blocked. The device detects the position of the blocked clamping element and determines the presence or absence of a flexible tube according to the position of the detected clamping element.
Medical treatment system and methods using a plurality of fluid lines
A medical treatment system, such as a peritoneal dialysis system, may include a control and other features to enhance patient comfort and ease of use. For example, a cycler device may include a heater bag receiving section and a lid mounted to cover and uncover the heater bag receiving section, potentially enabling faster heating of a dialysate. A user interface may be moveable to be received into the receiving section and covered by the lid, if desired. The system may detect anomalous conditions, such as tilting of a housing of the system, and automatically recover without terminating a treatment. The system may include noise reduction features, such as porting pneumatic outputs to a common chamber, and others. The system may also automatically detect any one of several different solution lines connected to the system, and control operation accordingly, e.g., to mix solutions provided by two or more lines and form a needed dialysate solution. A cassette control surface may be arranged to have one or more ports that can detect a presence of a liquid, e.g., to identify if a cassette is leaking or has otherwise been compromised.
Flow meter and related method
A system for regulating fluid flow having a processor configured to reduce image noise is provided. The system includes an image sensor to capture an image of the drip chamber. The processor captures the image of the drip chamber using the image sensor, performs an edge detection on the image to generate a first processed image, and performs an AND-operation on a pixel on a first side of an axis of the first processed image with a corresponding mirror pixel on a second side of the axis of the first processed image to generate a second processed image.
Fluid line autoconnect apparatus and methods for medical treatment system
A medical infusion fluid handling system, such as an automated peritoneal dialysis system, may be arranged to de-cap and connect one or more lines (such as solution lines) with one or more spikes or other connection ports on a fluid handling cassette. This feature may reduce a likelihood of contamination since no human interaction is required to de-cap and connect the one or more lines and the one or more spikes. For example, the automated peritoneal dialysis system may include a carriage arranged to receive the one or more lines each having a connector end and a cap. The carriage may move along a first direction so as to move the connector ends of the one or more lines along the first direction, and a cap stripper may be arranged to engage with the caps on the one or more lines on the carriage. The cap stripper may move in a second direction transverse to the first direction, as well as to move with the carriage along the first direction.
CAMMED ROLLER BEARING TUBING CLAMP
A clamp for regulating fluid flow in a flexible tube of a fluid injector system including an anvil and a cam assembly is described. The anvil includes a receiving surface for receiving the flexible tube. The cam assembly includes either a solid cam or a rollable outer race and an inner race having a central axis and a rotation axis spaced apart from the central axis. The inner race is rotatable relative to the outer race. Rotation of the inner race about the rotation axis rolls the outer race in a direction relative to the receiving surface of the anvil to reversibly compress the flexible tube between the outer race and the anvil.
Infusion pump with tube loading guidance and confirmation
An infusion pump includes a housing with a door pivotally mounted to the housing, a tube channel on the housing configured to hold a tube in the infusion pump, a pumping mechanism including a shuttle, and a slide clamp ejection device.
CONNECTORS FOR INFUSION PUMP FEEDING SETS
Improved feeding set connectors and cassettes are disclosed for use with peristaltic infusion pumps for safely delivering enteral nutritional fluids to a patient. The connectors provide an easy to use “pump-to-set” integration or “keying” system for specific reusable infusion pumps and their matching feeding sets, and can be utilized by medical professionals having various skill levels. The inventive feeding set cassettes can prevent accidental free flow of enteral fluids into a patient, even upon inadvertent release of the connector from the pumping mechanism.

INFUSION CARTRIDGE, INFUSION PUMP, CAP MEMBER, AND FLOW PATH CLOSURE ASSEMBLY
An infusion cartridge includes: a cartridge main body that defines a housing space configured to house an infusion solution; a tube member having a proximal end connected to the cartridge main body and defining a flow path communicating with the housing space; and a cap member attachable to and detachable from a distal end of the tube member. The cartridge main body includes a flow path closing portion configured to be changed between (i) a closing position in which the flow path closing portion closes the flow path of the tube member and (ii) an opening position in which the flow path closing portion does not close the flow path of the tube member. The cap member is attachable to the cartridge main body so as to maintain the flow path closing portion in one position among the closing position and the opening position.
Continuous flow infusion pump utilizing angular aligned fingers
An infusion pump, driven by a camshaft with one or two cams, controls two sets of angularly aligned fingers phased within a sleeve, compressing two parallel flexible tube-sections, drawing fluid from a fluid source, yielding a combined continuous flow of fluid output from the two tube-sections as a function of the camshaft rotation.
