12053613 · 2024-08-06 · ·

A circular roller clamp assembly includes a semi-circular housing configured to receive a portion of an IV tube, a motor and a motor arm coupled to the motor. A roller is coupled to the roller arm, the roller movably received by a guide groove disposed in the semi-circular housing. A flow rate of fluid flowing through the IV tube is regulated based on roller impingement of the IV tube against a tube channel in the guide groove via circumferential movement of the roller along the guide groove. IV sets with circular roller clamp assemblies and methods of operating circular roller clamp assemblies are also provided.

Tubing clamp

A clamp for selectively compressing a portion of tubing, such as an extension leg of a PICC or other catheter, is disclosed. The clamp is able to be opened or closed with a thumb and finger of a single hand of a user and is slidably attached to the tubing so as to enable its placement as desired along the tube. In one embodiment, the tubing clamp comprises a body including first and second body portions hingedly connected to one another in a clamshell configuration, a latch for releasably latching the first and second body portions together, and at least two tube compression members. The tube compression members cooperate to compress and occlude a portion of tubing passing through the tubing clamp when the first and second body portions are latched to one another.

Mixing systems and methods include a mixing device comprising a primary tube having a proximal end, a distal end, an outer surface and an inner lumen and at least one secondary tube having a proximal end, a distal end, an outer surface and an inner lumen. The at least one secondary tube is substantially parallel to the primary tube. The distal end of the at least one secondary tube is fluidly connected to the primary tube at a junction located on the primary tube close to the distal end of the primary tube.

Method for controlling drug delivery through an infusion set

A slide clamp for use with an infusion pump and infusion set provides finger grips and support members for supporting the infusion tubing. The finger grips make the slide clamp easier to use while reducing the risk of error. The tubing support members reduce the likelihood of improperly loading the tubing and reduce the risk of kinking the tubing during use. An infusion set is provided wherein the slide clamp may be coded through the use of colors, holes, or the like so as to identify the type of infusion tubing used therewith. The infusion pump can identify the code on the slide clamp and thereby determine the type of infusion tubing, and thereby allow access only to infusion programs for drugs or infusion solutions which are compatible with the particular type of infusion tubing.

INFUSION SET HAVING ROLLER CLAMP
20240316331 · 2024-09-26 ·

An infusion set includes a tube and a roller clamp for regulating a flow of fluid through the tube. The roller clamp includes a housing that has side walls and a crosspiece connecting the side walls and on which the tube rests. A wheel is supported on running surfaces in or on the side walls so as to be rotatable and displaceable in the longitudinal direction of the housing. The running surfaces face the crosspiece. The lengths of the running surfaces extend in the longitudinal direction of the housing, and the widths of the running surfaces extend in the transverse direction of the housing. Movement of the wheel along the running surfaces alters a cross-section of the tube. The running surfaces each form a substantially punctiform support or contact point with the wheel, on an inner portion of the running surfaces, particularly an inner portion facing the wheel.

CATHETER VALVE FOR CONTROLLING THE FLUID FLOW OF A MEDIUM
20240299726 · 2024-09-12 ·

The invention relates to a catheter valve for controlling the fluid flow of a medium, in particular a self-closing catheter valve, wherein a main body comprises: an inlet and an outlet, a flexible tube, as a cover, a slider which is movable in the longitudinal direction, and at the inlet of the catheter valve, a stepped barbed part for connecting a supply line; and, in the interior of the main body that comprises two laterally opposite vertical chambers, the catheter valve has two contradirectional downward inclines on the longitudinally movable slider.

The problem addressed by the invention is that of developing a catheter valve, which: 1. is ergonomically effectively shaped, so that the patient can become accustomed to it even if they are bedridden for a long period of time, 2. since care costs are particularly significant for long-term patients, the catheter valve must be extremely economical, 3. since geriatric patients often have reduced motor function, the catheter valve must be operated extremely simply and using one hand, 4. since usage is often long-term, it must be possible to flush through and sterilize the entire valve without difficult disassembly. 5. unintended detachment of the catheter from the catheter valve is prevented, which avoids the risk of infection.

This is achieved according to the invention in that the main body that comprises two contradirectional downward inclines comprises two contradirectional inclined chambers for actuating and guiding two vertically movable magnets, which are arranged on two opposite sides of the valve hose and selectively close or open the passage of said valve hose, wherein an adapter can be inserted and fastened at the outlet of the catheter valve and (in addition to the longitudinally movable slider) results in a permanent open position of the catheter valve.
