Selective Fluid Barrier Valve Device and Method of Treatment
20180243085 · 2018-08-30 ·

Selective fluid barrier valve devices and methods of treatment are described herein. An embodiment of a selective fluid barrier valve device comprises a housing, an actuator, a sleeve, a wire member, and a connector. The sleeve defines a passageway that extends through the sleeve. The actuator is moveable between a first position and a second position. When the actuator is in the first position, the sleeve is in a first configuration such that fluid can pass through the passageway defined by the sleeve. When the actuator is in a second position, the sleeve is in a second configuration such that fluid is prevented from passing through the passageway defined by the sleeve.

ANTI-OCCLUSION INTRAVENOUS TUBE PORT
20180185569 · 2018-07-05 ·

An infusion pump includes a housing. The housing includes a tube port adapted to receive an intravenous (IV) tube. The tube port includes a tube channel and a rib. The tube channel has an inlet and an outlet end. The rib is positioned along the channel adjacent the outlet end. The rib is formed to extend towards the tube when the tube is passed through the tube port thereby indenting the tube and tending to prevent full occlusion of the tube. The tube port may also include a plurality of ribs positioned around a perimeter of the tube port on the exterior side of the housing. The plurality of ribs are configured to prevent an occlusion in the tube when the tube is bent on the exterior side of the housing.

Systems and methods for a bodily fluid drainage system

Systems and methods are provided for a bodily fluid management system for pumping bodily fluid such as lymph. The bodily fluid management system may include an implantable pump with a rotor having a magnetic portion and inlet and outlet tubes that connect to a fluid chamber. The fluid chamber has a volume that can be selectively reduced or increased via the rotor. The rotor is designed to periodically open and close kinking valves at each of the inlet and outlet tube to permit bodily fluid to enter the fluid chamber during an intake cycle and exit the fluid chamber during a discharge cycle. The magnetic portion of the rotor may be caused to rotate by an external controller that is positioned outside of the body and adjacent to the pump. The external controller may have a magnet that magnetically interfaces with the rotor to cause the rotor to rotate.

A system that fills multiple containers includes a filter with an inlet port and multiple outlet ports. The outlet ports are pre-attached to containers by respective filling lines of each container. Each container has an interior and each of the respective filling lines is connected to a respective container interior. All of the respective filling lines are sealed to the outlet ports and the containers such that the container interiors are isolated from an external environment except the inlet port, via the filter, forming a combined interior volume which is sterile. The system can produce batches of multiple sterile containers with sterile medicament in the containers.

Constriction Valve
20170165468 · 2017-06-15 ·

Constriction valves for catheters and method of using constriction valves are presented. The catheter valve has a conduit defining a lumen. The catheter also has a spring that is configured to bias the lumen from an open position to a closed position by altering an effective length of the conduit or altering the circumference of the conduit. The spring is further configured to change its configuration by changes of intraluminal pressure of the valve. A user can insert a tool into a catheter having a valve by manipulating the valve to expand a substantially closed lumen by compressing the spring, twisting the spring, or pulling on a cord coupled with the valve.

PINCH CLAMP DEVICE

Pinch-style clamps can be designed for use in clamping or occluding plastic tubing, such as intravenous tubing. These pinch clamps can include a soft, polymer material applied to various surfaces of the pinch clamp to prevent abrasion or irritation to the patient, increase friction between the pinch clamp and the user operating said pinch clamp, increase friction between engaged surfaces of the pinch clamp to prevent premature or unintended disengagement of the clamp, or increase friction between the outer surfaces of the tubing and the clamping surfaces of the clamp. Various features or components can be employed to prevent lateral disengagement of the pinch clamp. A pinch clamp may also be configured with rounded outer edges to enhance patient comfort.

Filtration system for preparation of fluids for medical applications

Systems, methods, and devices for preparation of purified water and medicaments for various uses including blood treatment are described. Methods, devices, and systems for creating multiple-treatment batches are described. For example, a medicament fluid circuit can include a container with an interior chamber. The container can have a fluid filling port and a fluid extraction port. Both ports can be connected to the interior chamber. The filling port can have two sterilizing filters, each of which has a membrane. The sterilizing filters can be connected in series the membranes are separated by a distance of at least 0.5 cm. A first of the sterilizing filters can have a sealed inlet. The fluid extraction port can be sealed.

TUBING ASSEMBLY
20170112995 · 2017-04-27 ·

A tubing assembly for use with a fluid delivery system has a first fluid line having a distal end and a proximal end for connecting to a first fluid source, and a second fluid line having a distal end and a proximal end for connecting to a second fluid source. The tubing assembly further has a third fluid line having a distal end and a proximal end, and a connector assembly for connecting the distal end of the first fluid line and the distal end of the second fluid line to the proximal end of the third fluid line. A tubing holder receives at least a portion of the third fluid line. The tubing holder has a first portion and a second portion movable relative to the first portion to selectively block fluid flow through the third fluid line.

Transfer Set with Integral Access Port

A multifunctional transfer set having an access port is disclosed. The multifunctional transfer set facilitates the introduction of elongate members insertably/retractably and allows fluid flow therethrough without requiring detachment during use. The multifunctional transfer set has a transfer set body assembly connected to a Y-adapter with an access port and a longitudinal portion. A longitudinal axis extends through the transfer set body assembly and longitudinal portion of the Y-adapter and not through the access port. An extension sub-assembly is connected to the access port, the extension sub-assembly having branch tubing, a flow-control device, and a coupling assembly allows fluid flow therethrough into and out of the transfer set body assembly if the flow-control device is open and prevents fluid from flowing therethrough if the flow-control device is closed. An existing transfer set without intervening side access may be converted into a multifunctional transfer set with a shorter longitudinal length.
