The output of the simulation includes information on a lifeline recovery timeline for each building in the geographical area. Further, the method includes presenting, in a user interface, the recovery timeline for one or more buildings.

Electrical Service Adapter for Supply Side Interconnect

An assembly or adapter configured to provide a supply-side interconnect of electrical power to a distribution board. The adapter may be incorporated internal or external to the distribution board, by occupying the space of one or more circuit breakers, inserting an adapter into a meter termination socket, or the like. The adapter includes terminals provided to route the conductors from the utility to a breakout panel (or subpanel) for adding power devices as a supply side interconnect, and back to a regular route that may go through the meter and/or the main circuit breaker, and on to the loads. A switching component may provide an inline configuration that configures the conductors for backup function, and a parallel configuration that is a parallel interconnecting route when utility service is available.

Electrical power distribution devices with a bypass unit that electrically engages one of two alternate units for powering a load while electrically isolating the other using a six pole power transfer switch and mechanical and electrical interlocks to allow a technician to access one of the alternate units when de-energized and in position while the other of the alternate units is energized and powering the load.

Restoration Of Fault Insulated Feeder

A method for restoration of a fault isolation in a medium voltage, MV, network having a plurality of feeders and a plurality of normally open, NO, switches possibly in parallel with MV direct current, DC, links is presented. The method is performed in a control device of the MV network. The method includes closing at least two NO switches in parallel with MVDC links of the plurality of NO switches, being connected to a fault isolated feeder of the plurality of feeders of the MV network, and opening the closed at least two NO switches in parallel with MVDC links except one. A control device, a computer program and a computer program product for restoration of a fault isolation in a MV network are also presented.

Protection distribution devices including switches, disposed on a distribution grid, are individually provided with slave stations. The slave stations are connected to each other via communication lines and connected to a high-order server. Each slave station includes a failure symptom cause estimation circuitry to estimate a symptom cause for failure on the distribution grid on the basis of waveform data measured by a measurement circuitry which performs signal processing on waveform data of current or voltage detected by the protection distribution device, and a data transmitter/receiver to transmit an estimation result for the symptom cause for failure on the distribution grid obtained by the failure symptom cause estimation circuitry, to the server. The failure symptom cause is autonomously estimated through mutual communication among the slave stations.

MICROGRID SWITCHOVER USING ZERO-CROSS DETECTION

A technique enables microgrid switchover using zero cross detection. A flexible load management system includes a virtual critical load panel (vCLP) that utilizes circuit breakers in combination with companion modules configured to sense power provided to one or more loads to identify zero-crossings. When a preconfigured number of consecutive, missed zero-crossings is detected, the companion module is alerted as to potential main power loss and transitions to a virtual critical load (vCL) mode for load adjustment prior to operation under local power. Upon detection of main power loss, the companion module is configured for load activation (or deactivation) via states of one or more vCL bits that configure each load for either ON or OFF state when operating under local power.

RESILIENT ROUTE GENERATION SYSTEM FOR RELIABLE COMMUNICATION IN POWER GRID PHASOR MEASUREMENT SYSTEM
20220329073 · 2022-10-13 ·

Disclosed is a resilient route generation system for reliable communication of a phasor measurement system of a power grid. A named data network is a new network architecture to improve the communication reliability between a phasor measurement unit and a phasor measurement concentrator in power transmission and distribution networks. The lost data packets in a current router can be directly recovered from an upstream router with resilient route, and the optimal RR selection will maximize the success rate of retransmission of lost data packets, thus maximizing the network reliability. The mesh network and ring network structure of the power grid are fully utilized, and a resilient route generation system is provided, wherein the resilient route of each communication pair includes a corresponding primary path and a plurality of redundant sub paths, so that the success rate of retransmission of lost data packets and the network reliability are maximized.

Powering An Information Delivery Network

Methods and systems are disclosed for leveraging user premises supplied electric power to power active components in an information delivery network. In response to one or more conditions, an active component may switch an input power path from using grid-supplied or battery power to draw power from a user premises. The decision to switch the power path may be based on a number of conditions, for example, whether power is available from the grid, the relative cost of power from the user premises and whether the power from the user premises includes power from a renewable source.
