A method for controlling an electrical power which flows into or out of an electrical subnetwork via a connection point is disclosed. The subnetwork has at least one electrical load, and the electrical load is connected to a control device via a communication connection, the electrical power flowing via the connection point is measured and a maximum power consumption of the electrical load is set by means of the control device on the basis of the electrical power flowing via the connection point. A device for connecting a multiphase subnetwork, which has an energy production installation and an energy store, to a superordinate multiphase alternating voltage network is configured to transmit electrical power between the alternating voltage network and the subnetwork and comprises an AC/AC converter having a network connection, two inverter bridge circuits with an interposed intermediate circuit and a subnetwork connection. The device also comprises a control device which is configured to set the electrical powers flowing via the individual phases of the subnetwork connection on the basis of power values of the energy production installation and/or of the energy store by suitably controlling the inverter bridge circuits of the AC/AC converter.

METERING AND TRACKING DISTRIBUTED ELECTRICAL ENERGY GENERATION

Disclosed is a centralized system and method for metering, tracking, and monetizing distributed digital energy assets. The system includes the creation and utilization of a secure digital energy-asset that acts as a key, authorizing specialized circuits to generate a specified amount of electrical energy. Digital information passed through the system includes data necessary to ascribe attribution (i.e., branding, trail of ownership, etc.) and permit monetization (i.e., kWhs, time, dollars, geography, etc.). Functionality and/or value that is ascribed to the digital energy asset can be enhanced by appending additional information and/or utility. The system also includes a means to normalize and evaluate a potentially infinite number of measurements commonly used in business models across multiple industries to a simplified listing of measurements required to track and monetize energy alone within the system.

A server includes a processing device. The server manages a plurality of vehicles. The processing device sets priority levels for the vehicles. The processing device sets the priority level of a vehicle in which its switching device is in a closed state to be higher than the priority level of a vehicle in which its switching device is in an open state. The processing device selects, based on the priority levels, a participating vehicle to be used for demand-increasing demand response from among the vehicles.

Controllable Electrical Outlet Having a Resonant Loop Antenna

A controllable electrical outlet may comprise a resonant loop antenna. The resonant loop antenna may comprise a feed loop electrically coupled to a radio-frequency (RF) communication circuit and a main loop magnetically coupled to the feed loop. The controllable electrical outlet may comprise one or more electrical receptacles configured to receive a plug of a plug-in electrical load and may be configured to control power delivered to the plug-in electrical load in response to an RF signal received via the RF communication circuit. The RF performance of the controllable electrical outlet may be substantially immune to devices plugged into the receptacles (e.g., plugs, power supplies, etc.) due to the operation of the resonant loop antenna. For example, degradation of the RF performance of the controllable electrical outlet may be less when the controllable electrical outlet includes the resonant loop antenna rather than other types of antennas.

A method of estimating power flexibility for a climate system includes receiving a component power flexibility measurement from one or more components of the climate system, and aggregating the component power flexibility measurement from each of the one or more components of the climate system to determine a climate system power flexibility. A method of responding to a fast demand request from an electrical power source for a climate system is also disclosed.

Systems and methods for managing power supplied over an electric power grid by an electric utility and/or other market participants to multiple power consuming devices, each of which having a Power Supply Value (PSV) associated with its energy consumption and/or reduction in consumption. Power flow to the power consuming devices is selectively enabled and disabled, or power-reduced thereto, by one or more controllable devices controlled by the client device. Power control messages from a controlling server indicate amounts of electric power to be reduced and an identification of at least one controllable device to be instructed to disable or reduce a flow of electric power to one or more associated power consuming devices.

A power control device for an electrically powered appliance may selectively switch off one 110 volt input (of two separate 110 volt input lines) of a 220 volt power supply to the appliance during certain periods of operation, in response to a demand-response request. This may adjust operation of one or more components of the appliance, thus adjusting an amount of power consumed by the appliance. A determination of which one, of the two, 110 volt input lines to be switched off may be made based on an analysis of the amount of power consumed by each of the two 110 volt input lines during operation of the appliance. The power control device may be provided at any point between the electrically powered appliance and a power distribution panel distributing power from an external source.
