Battery-powered household appliance and battery charging station

The present disclosure relates to a system with a household appliance, a charging station and a plurality of battery units. A control of the system is configured so that a battery unit connected to the charging station can be charged in dependence on a discharge of a battery unit which is connected to the household appliance for operating the household appliance to perform a use operation. The present disclosure further concerns a household appliance and a charging station. It is thereby made possible to perform particularly long use operations with only two battery units or at least a reduced number of battery units without an interruption for charging a battery, and at the same time to achieve the longest possible service life of the battery units.

Energy storage apparatus

A power storage device 20 comprises: a plurality of power storage elements C1-C6 that are connected in series; energy transfer circuits 40 provided respectively to the plurality of power storage elements C1-C6; a common bus 50 to which the energy transfer circuits 40 of the plurality of power storage elements C1-C6 are commonly connected; and a control device 70. Each energy transfer circuit 40 includes one or a plurality of switching transformers Tr, each switching transformer having a first winding 41A that is connected to the power storage elements C1-C6 and a secondary winding 41B that is connected to the common bus 50. The control device 70 uses the switching transformers Tr of the energy transfer circuits 40 to transfer energy between the power storage elements via the common bus 50, thereby equalizing the voltages of the power storage elements C1-C6. The common bus 50 is in an electrically floating state.

Battery system, vehicle, and method for controlling charge and discharge of a secondary battery

A battery system includes a battery pack including a plurality of cells, and an ECU. The ECU calculates a current distribution in each cell using a ladder circuit network model, the ladder circuit network model being obtained by geometrically modeling an interior of the cell using a plurality of resistance elements and a plurality of power storage elements. The ECU calculates the current distribution in the cell by applying, to the ladder circuit network model, a resistance distribution in the cell calculated based on a salt concentration distribution in the cell.

Electronic Devices with Multiple Energy Storage Device Charging Circuits and Corresponding Methods

An electronic device included a first energy storage device coupled to a second energy storage device by a conductor. A charging node is coupled to the first energy storage device. Another conductor couples the charging node to the second energy storage device. A switch is electrically coupled between the conductor and the second energy storage device. A control circuit opens the switch, thereby allowing a first charging current to flow from the charging node to the first energy storage device through the conductor and a second charging current to flow from the charging node to the second energy storage device through the other conductor and closes the switch when a difference between a voltage of the first energy storage device and a voltage of the second energy storage device is within a predefined voltage difference threshold.
