MANAGEMENT METHOD OF SECONDARY BATTERY, CHARGE METHOD OF SECONDARY BATTERY, MANAGEMENT DEVICE OF SECONDARY BATTERY, MANAGEMENT SYSTEM OF SECONDARY BATTERY, ELECTRODE GROUP, AND UNIT BATTERY
In a management method of a secondary battery of one embodiment, a charge pattern in charge planned to be executed is set based on estimation data including an estimation result of an internal state of the secondary battery based on a measurement result of an electric current and a voltage of the secondary battery, target data including a target time for charging the secondary battery in the charge planned to be executed, and relation data indicative a relation of each of the internal state of the secondary battery and a charge condition of the secondary battery to a deterioration rate of the secondary battery. The charge pattern is set to be a charge pattern in which the deterioration rate does not exceed a threshold and the secondary battery is charged during the target time.
Systems and methods for battery management for electric aircraft batteries
A system for battery management for electric aircraft batteries includes an energy storage system configured to provide energy to the electric aircraft via a power supply connection, the energy storage system including: a battery pack, a sensor configured to detect a condition parameter of the battery pack and generate a battery datum based on the condition parameter, a pack monitoring unit (PMU) configured to receive the battery datum, and a high voltage disconnect configured to terminate the power supply connection between the battery pack and the electric aircraft; a high voltage bus electrically connected to the high voltage disconnect; a primary functional display configured to display information based on battery datum; and a first controller area network (CAN) bus and a second CAN bus communicatively connected to the PMU, the high voltage bus, and the primary functional display.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR CHARGE STORAGE AND PROVIDING POWER
Aspects of this disclosure relate to detecting and recording information associated with electrical overstress (EOS) events, such as electrostatic discharge (ESD) events. For example, in one embodiment, an apparatus includes an electrical overstress protection device, a detection circuit configured to detect an occurrence of the EOS event, and a memory configured to store information indicative of the EOS event.
LOW VOLTAGE BATTERY SOC CONFIRMATION AND CELL BALANCING
A battery system includes at least one battery including a plurality of cells and a hybrid control module configured to monitor a differential capacity of the at least one battery, determine when the monitored differential capacity of the at least one battery corresponds to a predetermined differential capacity of the at least one battery, and determine a state of charge of the battery in response to the determination that the monitored differential capacity corresponds to the predetermined differential capacity.
POWER STORAGE CONTROL SYSTEM
A power storage control system includes a storage battery and a controller. The storage battery supplies electric power to an electric power system in collaboration with a power generator in response to a command value. The controller outputs, to the power generator, a stop signal causing the power generator to stop power generation when a state of charge of the storage battery is larger than a given value. The controller outputs, to the power generator, an execution signal causing the power generator to execute power generation when the state of charge is not larger than the given value. The controller acquires an actual electric power value generated by the power generator. The controller outputs a control signal causing the storage battery to execute charging and discharging for satisfying the command value on the basis of a difference between the command value and the actual electric power value.
MANAGEMENT DEVICE AND POWER SUPPLY SYSTEM
Management device manages a plurality of power storage modules connected in parallel to load via switches. With some of switches connected to some of the plurality of power storage modules being in an on state and other switches connected to other power storage modules being in an off state, determination unit of management device does not permit at least one of other switches in the off state to be turned on in a case where at least one switch is turned on and an upper limit value of a current or power allowed to be supplied to load entirely from the plurality of power storage modules with at least one switch being turned on becomes less than or equal to a value before the turning-on of at least one switch.
Method and system for predicting onset of capacity fading in a battery
A method for predicting an onset of a capacity fading in a battery includes measuring, over a period of time, a plurality of parameters related to charging and discharging cycles of the battery; detecting, based on the measured plurality of parameters, the onset of the capacity fade in the battery; and providing a notification on the electronic device indicating the detected onset of the capacity fade.
AUTONOMOUS BATTERY CHARGING AND DISCHARGING SYSTEM USING A LOAD SHAPING SIGNAL
Autonomous battery charging and discharging is accomplished using a load shaping signal, e.g., an optimized load shaping (OLS) signal, as specified in American National Standard ANSI/SCTE 267 2021. A battery charge controller connected to the power grid, microgrid, or nano grid autonomously interprets the load shaping signal and takes local action to charge/discharge without requiring two-way communications, signing-up, or opting-in to a network or cloud-provided service. The system makes it possible for the same load shaping signal to be used not only by all types of electric loads but also by all types of batteries
Resistor-Free Supercapacitor Mobile Device Powering Layout
An arrangement for powering a mobile device with a fast charge discharge power source such as a supercapacitor without reliance on resistors to protect device electronics from comparatively high supercapacitor current discharge rates. The arrangement protects device electronics by coordinating a switch with a charge controller to balance recharge of a battery electronically coupled to the supercapacitor. The arrangement and techniques utilized result in a substantially continuous trickle charging of the battery from the supercapacitor. In this way, the battery is continuously charged so long as the supercapacitor holds power and the battery remains the safe medium through which device electronics are powered.
Large-format battery management system identifies power degradation
A battery system with a large-format Li-ion battery powers attached equipment by discharging battery cells distributed among a plurality of battery packs. The discharging of the battery cells is controlled in an efficient manner while preserving the expected life of the Li-ion battery cells. Each battery pack internally supports a battery management system and may have identical components, thus supporting an architecture that easily scales to higher power/energy. Battery packs may be added or removed without intervention with a user, where one of battery packs serves as a master battery pack and the remaining battery packs serve as slave battery packs. When the master battery pack is removed, one of the slave battery packs becomes the master battery pack. Charging and discharging of the battery cells is coordinated by the master battery pack with the slave battery packs over a communication channel such as a controller area network (CAN) bus.
