The ship comprises: a power grid; at least one generator that is connected to the power grid and supplies electricity to the power grid; a high-capacity battery connected to the power grid, and charged by receiving the electricity from the power grid or discharged to supply power to the power grid; a plurality of load components connected to the power grid; and a controller for receiving generator load information from the at least one generator, sensing a voltage of the power grid to calculate a current load and an average load, and controlling the generator to bear the average load and the high-capacity battery to bear a difference load between the current load and the average load.

AIRCRAFT MONITORING SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR ELECTRIC OR HYBRID AIRCRAFTS

This disclosure describes at least embodiments of an aircraft monitoring system for an electric or hybrid airplane. The aircraft monitoring system can be constructed to enable the electric or hybrid aircraft to pass certification requirements relating to a safety risk analysis. The aircraft monitoring system can have different subsystems for monitoring and alerting of failures of a component, such as a battery pack, a motor controller, and/or a motors. The failures that pose a greater safety risk may be monitored and indicated by one or more subsystems without use of programmable components.

An electric power supply system includes a first battery provided in an electric power supply circuit; a second battery provided in the circuit and electrically connected in parallel to the first battery, the second battery being a lithium-ion battery; an electric load provided in the circuit and electrically connected in parallel to the first battery and the second battery; a switch provided in the circuit, and configured to electrically disconnect the second battery from the circuit when the switch is open; and a control device configured to open the switch when an ignition switch is on and an SOC of the first battery is equal to or higher than a prescribed SOC, and to execute an open-circuit voltage acquisition process that acquires an open-circuit voltage of the second battery after a lapse of a prescribed time from a time when the switch is opened.

Ankle Movement Capture and Conversion into Energy
20200068984 · 2020-03-05 ·

A portion of ankle movement can be harnessed into stored energy that can be released for various purposes, such as to assist in movement or to charge a battery. This harnessing can be achieved in various manners. In one example manner, an offset pulley component can transfer ankle movement to a generator in a shoe insole. In another example manner, a slider can cause a brace arch to match an ankle arch such that the movement is appropriately harnessed.

Clutch/Brake Footwear System
20200068985 · 2020-03-05 ·

A footwear system can employ a brake and/or a clutch, such as a one-way clutch, to convert human motion into usable electricity. The brake and one-way clutch can be used together, such as on opposite ends of a spring. During a storage phase, the brake can be engaged and the one-way clutch disengaged so the spring stores an energy. After the storage phase, the brake can be removed to initiate the release phase since the brake is not stopping the spring, but the one-way clutch allows the stored energy to be released.

Wearable Planetary Gear Configuration
20200072319 · 2020-03-05 ·

A wearable system, such as a footwear system, can employ a generator. The generator can be powered by human movement, such as movement of knee as a person walks or runs. When the knee resets, it can be desirable to have a relatively equal gear ratio to achieve near natural movement. Conversely, it can be desirable to have a high gear ratio when the knee pushes off to achieve high generator rotation to produce a high amount of power. This can be achieved with employment of a wearable planetary gear set configuration In practicing this wearable planetary gear set, torque can be provided from the source (e.g. human ankle joint) when power negative and not at other times during a movement cycle, meaning energy can be harvested from the walking motion without inducing additional burden to the device wearer.

Generator Spinning in a Wearable System
20200068986 · 2020-03-05 ·

A wearable system, such as a footwear system, can employ a generator. The generator can be an electro-mechanical generator with a portion that spins to create an electricity. The portion that spins can be spun in such a manner that it does not stop, but instead a next spin beings before a previous spin completes. This can repeat until the generator reaches a terminal velocity.
