A custom outlet module is contained within a housing and has an electric current sensor configured to measure current passing through an electric outlet during a time period, a proximity sensor configured to detect a distance of an object relative to the electric outlet during the time period, a relay switch that can open or close to stop or conduct current through a circuit in the electric outlet in response to a command, and a wireless network interface in communication with the electric current sensor and the proximity sensor, the wireless network interface configured to transmit and receive data from the current sensor and the proximity sensor, to transmit commands to the relay switch, transmit the data to a computing device, and receive commands from the computing device.
Systems and methods for providing network connection resiliency in power supply devices
Power systems, devices, and methods include a plurality of network interfaces for providing communication to, e.g., a management server, console, or user interface. One or more controllers coupled to power circuitry determine whether a preferred one of the network interfaces has connectivity, and directs communication over the preferred network interface in response to a determination that the preferred network interface does have connectivity. The controller directs communication over an alternate one of the network interfaces in response to a determination that the preferred network interface does not have connectivity.
System and method for determining master/slave switches in a multi-way switch system
A power switch configured for use in a multi-way switch system is provided. The power switch includes one or more switching elements configured to selectively couple a load to a power source. The power switch includes a power metering circuit and a communications circuit. The communications circuit can be configured to provide communications between the power switch and at least one other power switch in the switch system. The power switch can include a control device configured obtain data from the power metering circuit. The data can be indicative of power consumption of the load. The control device can be further configured to determine whether the power switch is a master power switch in the multi-way switch system based on the data.
CHARGING AND UPDATING OF AN IMPLANTABLE HEARING AID
An implantable hearing aid system is disclosed. According to one or more of the mentioned aspects, the implantable hearing aid system comprises a charger unit which includes a coil unit having a first resonance frequency, a hearing aid and an implantable component. The hearing aid includes a rechargeable battery, an inductive coil arrangement having a second resonance frequency configured to form an inductive charging link with the coil unit to receive power signals from the charger unit. The implantable component includes an implantable coil, wherein the inductive coil arrangement may further be configured to form a transcutaneous link with the implantable coil to transmit at least one of data and power to the implantable component.
POWER MANAGEMENT SYSTEM, POWER MANAGEMENT METHOD, AND POWER MANAGEMENT APPARATUS
The server executes a process that includes receiving predetermined information from each terminal in a facility, if it is determined that the electric vehicle is connected to a charging/discharging station, associating a user or a user terminal with the charging/discharging station, scheduling a power demand and supply adjustment, receiving behavior information of the user, if it is determined that it is necessary to reschedule the power demand and supply adjustment, predicting a connection period, rescheduling the power demand and supply adjustment, and if the current time has reached the start time of a power supply and supply adjustment period, executing the power demand and supply adjustment.
Virtual reservoir storing energy for a hydroelectric power plant
A load management system for a hydroelectric power plant, includes a power generator configured to generate electrical energy from a flow of water for supplying a power grid, a virtual reservoir configured to store the generated electrical energy and dispatch the stored electrical energy to the power grid; a plurality of circuit breakers that connect an output of the power generator to the power grid and to the virtual reservoir; and a control unit configured to control operating states of the plurality of circuit breakers so that the generated electrical energy is stored at the virtual reservoir and at least one of the generated electrical energy or the stored electrical energy is provided to the power grid.
Smart load management apparatus and system for electric vehicle charging
Embodiments of the inventive concept measure the amount of electrical power being consumed in one or more houses or buildings, before the utility meter or meters. These measurements are used by a smart load manager (SLM) apparatus, in addition to information about the maximum capacity of the electrical lines that are being measured, to maximize the number of electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE) units that can be installed in the one or more buildings, and maximize the amount of power that is available for electric vehicle (EV) charging at any given time.
BATTERY STATE-OF-CHARGE PROTECTION
Systems and methods for monitoring and/or protecting state-of-charge of one or more batteries. One method comprises determining, via a controller, location information associated with the battery. The method includes determining, via the controller, one or more battery parameters. The method includes calculating, based on the one or more battery parameters and the location information, a state of charge of the battery. The method includes controlling, via the controller and based on the state of charge, a mode of the battery.
Electric vehicle charging management methods and systems
Electric vehicle charging management methods and systems are provided. First, a server receives a candidate charging request respectively from each of candidate charging stations or candidate mobile devices via a network. According to the candidate charging requests, at least one first charging station is selected from the candidate charging stations, and the first charging station is instructed to perform a first charging operation with an upper power limit value. The server sets the candidate charging requests of the candidate charging stations other than that of the first charging station to a pending state. When the first charging status information corresponding to the first charging operation meets an energy management condition, the server selects at least one second charging station from the candidate charging stations according to the candidate charging requests, and instructs the second charging station to perform a second charging operation with the upper power limit value.
