Power control system, method, and power control apparatus
In a power control system, a server transmits to each facility data generated by estimating a variation with time in power consumption in each facility and an upper limit value of power capable of being supplied to each facility. A HEMS controller calculates the sum of amounts of electric power consumed over an upper limit value on the basis of estimation data. A power conditioner reserves the power corresponding to the result of calculation in a storage battery in advance. The power conditioner supplies the power corresponding to the power storage capacity reserved in the storage battery to the facility in a case where the power consumption in the facility exceeds the upper limit value such that the upper limit of the power to be supplied from the system to the facility is set to the upper limit value.
Metering and communications for distributed energy resource devices
A DER (distributed energy resource) device includes a metrology module and a communications module. The metrology module monitors the output of the DER device and the communications module provides bidirectional communications across a communications network to control the DER device. The control of the DER devices may include commands to connect the DER device to the grid, to disconnect the DER device to the grid, to connect the DER device to the premises, or to adjust a power characteristic of the output of the DER device.
Load Control System Having a Broadcast Controller with a Diverse Wireless Communication System
A load control system for controlling the amount of power delivered from an AC power source to a plurality of electrical load includes a plurality of energy controllers. Each energy controller is operable to control at least one of the electrical loads. The load control system also includes a first broadcast controller that has a first antenna and a second antenna. The first antenna is arranged in a first position and the second antenna is arranged in a second position that is orthogonal to the first position. The broadcast controller is operable to transmit a first wireless signal via the first antenna and a second wireless signal via the second antenna. Each of the energy controllers is operable to receive at least one of the first and second wireless signals, and to control the respective load in response to the received wireless signal.
Network-controlled charging system for electric vehicles
A network-controlled charge transfer device for electric vehicles includes a control device to turn electric supply on and off to enable and disable charge transfer for electric vehicles, a transceiver to communicate requests for charge transfer with a remote server and receive communications from the remote server, and a controller, coupled with the control device and the transceiver, to cause the control device to turn the electric supply on based on communication from the remote server.
Wire down detection system and method
Some embodiments of the invention include a method and system for metering an electrical grid comprising at least one processor executing instructions from a non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of an electrical grid fault detection system. In some embodiments of the system, the instructions cause a processor to calculate a prediction of whether power delivery to at least a portion of the electrical grid is functioning abnormally using voltage sensing devices coupled to at least one feeder, where one or more of the voltage sensing devices are responsive to a determination that the power delivery is functioning abnormally. Further in some embodiments, the determination includes the electrical grid fault detection system receiving at least one signal or voltage reading from the electrical grid based at least in part on a sensed or received voltage level or range of voltage level.
Indoor location services using a distributed lighting network
A method includes the steps of obtaining distance measurements between a device and a number of lighting fixtures, processing the distance measurements to assign coordinates to each one of the lighting fixtures, and facilitating registration of the coordinates of a subset of the lighting fixtures to obtain registered coordinates for all of the lighting fixtures. The coordinates indicate a relative location of each one of the lighting fixtures with respect to one another. The registered coordinates indicate a location of each lighting fixture in a desired coordinate space. Accordingly, a location of a lighting fixture within a desired coordinate space can be easily obtained, which may enable significant additional functionality of the lighting fixture.
INFORMATION PROCESSING DEVICE, INFORMATION PROCESSING METHOD, AND INFORMATION PROCESSING SYSTEM
An information processing device includes: a reception unit configured to receive operation information on a power supply device from the power supply device that supplies power to an electric apparatus detachably connected thereto; a ranking unit configured to rank a user of the power supply device based on the received operation information; and a setting unit configured to set an incentive to the user based on a rank of the ranked user. The operation information includes: fuel consumption information indicating a fuel consumption amount of an engine generator; and measurement information indicating measurement results of voltage and current that the power supply device is supplying to the electric apparatus. The ranking unit identifies fuel consumption based on the fuel consumption information and the measurement information, and ranks the user based on the identified fuel consumption.
Network-controlled charging system for electric vehicles
A server of a network-controlled charging system for electric vehicles receives a request for charge transfer for an electric vehicle at a network-controlled charge transfer , determines whether to enable charge transfer, and responsive to determining to enable charge transfer, transmits a communication to the network-controlled charge transfer that indicates to the network-controlled charge transfer to enable charge transfer.
