The processing circuit receives a cost input indicating an amount of money to complete a job, receives an on-site time for the job, receives operational data from the connected lawn mower, including a prime mover runtime, calculates an efficiency value for the connected lawn mower based on the prime mover runtime and the on-site time, calculates a profitability value for the job based on at least the cost input and the on-site time, generates an efficiency report and profitability report for the connected unit based on the calculated efficiency and profitability values, and transmits the efficiency report and the profitability report to a computing system.
WIRELESS DATA TRANSMISSION SYSTEM FOR A POWER UTILITY AND DATA TRANSMISSION METHOD
A wireless data transmission system for transmitting measurement data of a power utility is adapted such that the measurement data is transmitted in a first operating mode and wireless transmission of the measurement data is paused in a second operating mode. The wireless data transmission system operates in the first or second operating mode as a function of temperature.
Controlling the electrical load of a load facility using demand response
A method is provided for controlling electrical load on a power grid from a load facility using demand response. The method includes accessing memory storing computer-readable program code for decision analysis of a specified time interval for a demand-response (DR) event. The method also includes executing the computer-readable program code, via a processor, to cause an apparatus to at least make a decision to participate in or opt out of the DR event. This includes the apparatus receiving values of variables that describe occupancy and usage of the load facility for one or more time intervals. The apparatus applies the values to an algorithm that maps the variables to a decision to participate in or opt out of the DR event for the specified time interval. And the apparatus automatically notifies an operator responsible for the DR event of the decision at least when the decision is to opt out.
Media access control security (MACsec) application cryptographic fingerprinting
An intelligent electronic device (IED) includes memory and a processor operatively coupled to the memory. The processor is configured to establish, over a communication network of a power system, a connection association (CA) with a receiving device using a MACsec Key Agreement (MKA). The processor is configured to automatically send an announce message indicating a set of enabled application protocols on the IED to the receiving device.
Power management message bus system
A message bus is utilized for energy management/control. The publish/subscribe message bus present between site gateways, a central server farm, and other entities, facilitates exchange of messages pertaining to management and control of power generation and/or storage. On-site publishers/subscribers can include, e.g., PV inverters, battery devices, energy meters, etc. Non-site specific publishers/subscribers can include, e.g., web clients, database servers (for logging), and various server components of the message bus. Messages exchanged between publishers and subscribers can include control messages (e.g., begin charging battery X) and measurement messages (e.g., the current charge of battery X is Y). Embodiments may implement logic at a site gateway prioritizing transmission of messages to local site devices. Thus where a gateway cannot simultaneously transmit device control messages and device data acquisition messages (e.g., due to processing burden or congestion), site gateway logic can prioritize transmission of the control messages over the locally-generated data acquisition requests.
Apparatus for managing electric devices
An apparatus and method for managing electric devices, and a mobile device and a system adapted to the method are provided. The electric device management system includes an electric power supply, a plurality of electric devices that are arranged in an area and receive electric power from the electric power supply, and a device management apparatus for providing information regarding the electric devices and at least one operation schedule of electric devices based on the entire amount of electric power planned to be consumed by the electric devices.
Method, device, and system for controlling charging and discharging of energy storage apparatus
A charging/discharging control system of an energy storage apparatus includes a weather information collection module, a load information collection module, a load grouping module which classifies a plurality of loads into at least one load group based on a load correlation according to a predetermined condition, and an energy storage apparatus charging/discharging control module which determines a battery charging or discharging level per time slot of each of a plurality of energy storage apparatuses by using at least one of an estimated load amount of each load per time slot, a battery charging amount of the energy storage apparatus per time slot via solar generation, and a battery charging amount per time slot via system power, wherein a particular load corresponding to a lowest rate for a unit load is determined by using battery charging/discharging information and power rate information per time slot.

The system adaptively switches prediction strategies to optimize time-variant energy demand and consumption of built environments associated with renewable energy sources. The system analyzes a first, second, third, fourth and a fifth set of statistical data. The system derives of a set of prediction strategies for controlled and directional execution of analysis and evaluation of a set of predictions for optimum usage and operation of the plurality of energy consuming devices. The system monitors a set of factors corresponding to the set of prediction strategies and switches a prediction strategy from the set of derived prediction strategies. The system predicts a set of predictions for identification of a potential future time-variant energy demand and consumption and predicts a set of predictions. The system manipulates an operational state of the plurality of energy consuming devices and the plurality of energy storage and supply means.
