ELECTRIC DRIVEN HYDRAULIC FRACKING OPERATION

Certain embodiments of the present application relate to a variable frequency drive (VFD) cabin for a pump configuration including a mobile trailer on which the VFD cabin is to be mounted. The VFD cabin generally includes a medium-voltage VFD and a ventilation system. In certain embodiments, the ventilation system is configured to generate an overpressure condition within the cabin to discourage the entry of dust and debris into the cabin. In certain embodiments, one or more components of the medium-voltage VFD are coupled to the floor of the cabin via a vibration damping system. In certain embodiments, the VFD cabin may be directly coupled to a chassis of the mobile trailer without an intervening suspension being provided between the VFD cabin and the chassis.

A power reception apparatus that receives power wirelessly transmitted from a power transmission apparatus, and controls a first wireless communication unit, a second wireless communication unit and a switching unit. When the first wireless communication unit is connected to the power transmission apparatus, the control unit controls the switching unit to switch the connection destination of the second antenna from the second wireless communication unit to the power reception unit, and communicates with the power transmission apparatus using the first wireless communication unit such that the power transmission apparatus starts transmitting power after the second antenna is connected to the power reception unit.

Electrical meter for determining device state changes using smart plugs

An electrical panel or an electrical meter may provide improved functionality by interacting with a smart plug. A smart plug may provide a smart-plug power monitoring signal that includes information about power consumption of devices connected to the smart plug. The smart-plug power monitoring signal may be used in conjunction with power monitoring signals from the electrical mains of the building for providing information about the operation of devices in the building. For example, the power monitoring signals may be used to (i) determine the main of the house that provides power to the smart plug, (ii) identify devices receiving power from the smart plug, (iii) improve the accuracy of identifying device state changes, and (iv) train mathematical models for identifying devices and device state changes.

Single phase fault isolation and restoration with loop avoidance

Techniques for controlling a power distribution network are provided. An electronic processor receives, a fault indication associated with a fault from a first isolation device of a plurality of isolation devices. The processor identifies a first subset of a plurality of phases associated with the fault indication and a second subset of the plurality of phases not associated with the fault indication. The processor identifies a downstream isolation device downstream of the fault. The processor sends send a first open command to the downstream isolation device for each phase in the first subset. The processor sends a close command to a tie-in isolation device for each of the plurality of phases. The processor sends a second open command to the downstream isolation device for each phase in the second subset. Responsive to identifying a potential loop configuration, the processor sends the second open command prior to the close command.

A load-sharing device shares electrical load between a high-ranking load and a low-ranking load. A current transformer connected between a circuit breaker panel and the high-ranking load senses current draw. The current transformer closes a first switch when sufficient current is detected and opens the first switch otherwise. Low-voltage power is connected across nodes of the first switch. A control circuit is connected in parallel with the first switch to control one or more second switches connected between the circuit breaker panel and a low-ranking load. When there is current flow in the control circuit, the second switches are closed, thereby permitting power delivery to the low-ranking load and when there is no current flow in the control circuit, the one or more second switches are open circuited. When the first switch is closed, it provides a short circuit, thereby preventing current flow in the control circuit.

Systems and methods for verifying correct completion of a power control sequence in a switchgear provide a commissioning agent that can automatically verify correct completion of the power control sequence. The commissioning agent includes a sequence verification tool that can initiate performance of a power control sequence in the switchgear and immediately compare the sequence actually performed to the sequence intended to be performed. If the two sequences do not match in order and timing, the verification tool reports the mismatch and identifies the error. In some embodiments, the commissioning agent further includes a log viewer that captures the sequence actually performed in the switchgear and displays the result for viewing. Such an arrangement provides a faster and more reliable way to double-check the system integrity of the switchgear during initial engineering and after factory and/or field modifications.

Single phase fault isolation and restoration with loop avoidance for multiple tie-in devices

A method for controlling a power distribution network includes receiving, via an electronic processor, a fault indication associated with a fault from a first isolation device of a plurality of isolation devices. The processor identifies a first subset of a plurality of phases associated with the fault indication and a second subset not associated with the fault indication. The processor sends a first open command to each member of a set of downstream isolation devices for each phase in the first subset. The processor identifies a plurality of tie-in isolation devices to be closed to restore power. Responsive to identifying a first potential loop configuration, for each of the plurality of tie-in devices, the processor sends a close command to the tie-in isolation device for each of the plurality of phases and sends a second open command to the associated downstream isolation device for each phase in the second subset.

Embodiments of the present invention comprise two or more distinct solar power systems associated with a single residence or building that together form an aggregate solar power system. Advantageously, high draw appliances can be distributed among the different systems such that the high current draw of one appliance on a first system will not negatively impact the high current draw of another high draw appliance on a second system.
