Power adapter having contact elements in a recess and method of controlling a power adapter
A power adapter configured to provide power to a load is described. The power adapter comprises a first plurality of contact elements comprising a first contact element configured to receive power and a second contact element adapted to be coupled to a load; and a surface adapted to receive a control attachment and comprising a second plurality of contact elements; wherein a third contact element of the second plurality of contact elements is configured to receive power by way of the first contact element of the first plurality of contact elements; and wherein power is applied to a load by way of the second contact element of the first plurality of contact elements.
Electric power monitoring system
A monitoring system that is configured to monitor a property is disclosed. The monitoring system includes a sensor that is configured to generate sensor data that reflects an attribute of the property. The monitoring system further include an electrical circuit that is located electrically between a power source and an electrical device and that is configured to pass electrical power from the power source to the electrical device or prevent electrical power from passing from the power source to the electrical device. The monitoring system further includes a monitor control unit that is configured to receive the sensor data, analyze the sensor data, and based on analyzing the sensor data, switch the electrical circuit to passing electrical power or to preventing electrical power from passing.
Smart Power Hub for Power Tools
A smart power hub having a number of electrical connections for power electric power tools. The smart power hub comprises a controller, a processor, and a number of sensors operable to measure operational behavior of the electrical connections or connected electric power tools. The processor may utilize data from the sensors to generate control commands for the controller to control the current output of the number of electrical connections. Additional functions of the processor may provide smart feature operation to connected tools.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR MONITORING A SITE BASED ON USE OF AN ELECTRICAL APPLIANCE AT THE SITE
A site monitoring method uses an electrical socket device to collect current data of an electrical appliance that is electrically connected to the electrical socket device. Based on the current data, a management server can derive a user behavior in connection with using the electrical appliance, and send out a warning message when the user behavior thus derived is abnormal.
Smart electrical outlet for monitoring and tracking electricity usage
A system tracks and controls access for supplying electrical power for charging devices associated with a user. The system has a server and one or more outlets. The outlets are connected to electrical power and are configured to supply electrical power to the devices. Each of the outlets has a socket configured to supply electrical power to the devices. Each of the outlets is further configured to transmit the credentials to the server for authorization to access the outlet. The server is configured to determine whether the user is authorized to access the outlet and to transmit authorization to the outlet. The outlet is further configured to start a session and provide electrical power to the one or more devices upon receiving authorization from the server. The outlet is further configured to transmit information regarding the parameters to the server during the session.
Premises power usage monitoring system
A control system (300) allows recognized standard premise electrical outlets, for example NEMA, CEE and BS, among others to be remotely monitored and/or controlled, for example, to intelligently execute blackouts or brownouts or to otherwise remotely control electrical devices. The system (300) includes a number of smart receptacles (302) that communicate with a local controller (304), e.g., via power lines using the TCP/IP protocol. The local controller (304), in turn, communicates with a remote controller (308) via the internet.
SOLID STATE PROTECTIVE SMART PLUG DEVICE
A wireless-controlled smart plug device and methods of use and operation, using a solid state switch to provide electrical power from an outlet to a load, and provide protection against overload, short circuit, ground, arc, or voltage surge faults. The switch includes a bidirectional semiconductor switch with two back-to-back connected transistors, such as silicon power MOSFETs, silicon insulated-gate bipolar transistors (IGBTs), silicon carbide (SiC) transistors, or gallium nitride (GaN) transistors, each configured to control the current flow from the electrical receptacle to the external electrical load.
Method and power distribution unit for limiting a total delivered power
A method of limiting a total power delivered by a power distribution unit having a plurality of output connectors is disclosed. A configurable power threshold is assigned for each of the output connectors so that a sum of the configurable power thresholds of the output connectors does not exceed a maximum rated power for the power distribution unit. A power level of a given output connector is sensed. A delivery of power by the given output connector is stopped when the power level of the given output connector exceeds the configurable power threshold for the given output connector. Power delivery may be resumed in response to receiving a user command to rearm the given output connector. A power distribution unit adapted to limit its total power delivery is also disclosed.
Custom Power Outlet Socket That Has Integrated Wireless Functionality
A custom outlet module is contained within a housing and has an electric current sensor configured to measure current passing through an electric outlet during a time period, a proximity sensor configured to detect a distance of an object relative to the electric outlet during the time period, a relay switch that can open or close to stop or conduct current through a circuit in the electric outlet in response to a command, and a wireless network interface in communication with the electric current sensor and the proximity sensor, the wireless network interface configured to transmit and receive data from the current sensor and the proximity sensor, to transmit commands to the relay switch, transmit the data to a computing device, and receive commands from the computing device.
