Region-Based Electrical Intelligence System
20200249739 · 2020-08-06 ·

A region-based electrical intelligence system is used to configure and control electrical usage within regions, for example, within certain areas of a floor of a building or within certain floors of a building. A number of network-enabled electric plugs are deployed in a region. Each of the network-enabled electric plugs is configured to deliver electricity from an electricity source to one or more powered devices located in the region. A server runs a web application used to monitor electrical usage information for the region based on electrical usage by each of the one or more powered devices. The web application generates rules for selectively controlling the delivery of electricity from the network-enabled electric plugs to the powered devices based on the monitored electrical usage information.

Method and apparatus for determining relative value of loads. In one embodiment the method comprises determining, for a load in a plurality of loads where (i) each load in the plurality has a weight and a value associated with it and (ii) the plurality is operating according to a primary solution where a net weight of all loads with an activated state satisfies a primary threshold, a change in operating state; determining a secondary solution for a subset of loads not including the load having the change, such that a net weight of all loads in the subset with an activated state satisfies a secondary threshold based on the primary threshold; and determining, based on the values of loads in the subset that have operating states in the secondary solution different from their operating states in the primary solution, an updated value for the load having the change.

SYSTEMS, APPARATUSES AND METHODS FOR APPLIANCES WITH INTEGRATED ENERGY STORAGE

An intelligent energy system includes an energy-consuming appliance, a battery module coupled to the appliance, and a bidirectional converter coupled to the appliance and the battery module by a power bus. The battery module is configured to provide power to the appliance. The bidirectional converter converts between alternating current (AC) and direct current (DC) and interfaces with a power infrastructure external to the appliance. The system further includes a control unit communicatively coupled to the battery module, the bidirectional converter, and the appliance. The control unit is configured to determine a charge and discharge schedule for the battery module. The battery module coupled with the bidirectional converter provides uninterrupted power to the appliance, abstracts the power demands of the appliance from local power infrastructure, and allows for greater appliance peak power draw than would otherwise be practical or possible.

THE METHOD AND SYSTEM OF WIRELESS MANAGEMENT OF THE OPERATION OF THE POWER SUPPLY SYSTEM OF ELECTRIC LOADS
20240272695 · 2024-08-15 ·

The invention relates to a method for wirelessly managing the operation of a power supply system for electrical loads and consists in that individual loads are prioritized and the functionalities provided by each load are prioritized. At least one load voltage threshold is determined for each load, whereby exceeding a load voltage threshold changes the functionalities provided by that load. At least one buffer energy threshold is also determined, specifying the amount of electricity stored in buffers of electricity. In addition, the average current energy consumption over time at all loads is calculated, and based on the calculated average energy consumption and on the predicted weather and/or environmental conditions, the buffer energy discharge function over time is determined, and the probability of energy loss in the buffers below the established buffer energy threshold is calculated, the charging current of the buffers of electricity is controlled predictively, and the operation of the power system is controlled, wherein, based on the established voltage thresholds of all loads and the established energy threshold of the buffer of electricity, according to the priorities assigned to the loads, either turns on or turns off the loads and/or the functionality provided by these loads, and this operation is adjusted on an ongoing basis based on measurement data so as to maximize the operation time of the loads with the highest assigned priorities and/or the functionality of these loads with the highest hierarchy. The object of the invention is also a system for wireless management of the operation of a power supply system for electrical loads, in which this method is implemented.
