Blade type check valve
11850411 · 2023-12-26 ·

The invention relates to a blade-type check valve for gaseous and liquid media, to be used in medical technologies as well as in waste water technology with at least three triangular blades, grouped in round configuration at the edges of a polygonal bore of a valve ring or housing, with the number of blades corresponding to the number of faces of the bore. At least at one of the three sides, the valve blades feature an integrated joint, which may also consist of fabric, whereas the two other sides of the valve blades form an articulated lock. The valve can be installed in any position and closes automatically, actuated by the backflow respectively return flow of the medium, without external energy.

Membrane catheter

A catheter for intravascular use has a blood inlet and a blood outlet, and includes a membrane arranged in the catheter in such a way that at least one part of the blood flowing into the catheter via the blood inlet during operation comes into contact with the membrane. The membrane allows an exchange of at least one substance between a carrier medium and the blood. The carrier medium is a carrier fluid in which the substance to be exchanged can be dissolved, and the catheter includes a delivery device that is designed to at least partially compensate for a pressure difference between the blood inlet and the blood outlet during operation. A method for removing at least one substance from venous blood for diagnostic purposes uses a device of this type.

Coil parameters and control

Present embodiments are directed to measuring and calculating parameters to control and monitor a power transfer in an implanted medical device. The medical device may be implanted in a subject and typically includes an artificial heart or ventricle assist device. The system measures parameters and uses the parameters to calculate a coupling coefficient for coils that transfer power between an external primary and an implanted secondary. The system uses the calculated coupling coefficient to estimate heat flux being generated in the system. Based on the level heat flux detected, the system may issue alerts to warn the subject or control actions to mitigate the effects of the heat flux.

BLOOD PRESSURE POWERED AUXILIARY PUMP

Methods and devices for a self-contained device including a hydraulic motor and a hydraulic pump. Preferably, the motor is incorporated either within the interior of the pump, on the exterior of the pump, or a combination of the two. The pump increases the kinetic energy of the fluid by centrifugal means, and in some embodiments is a viscous impeller pump. Applications include building flow systems, industrial processes, and biological circulatory systems.

CATHETER BLOOD PUMPS AND EXTERNAL FLUID CONTROL CONSOLES

Intravascular blood pumps and methods of use. The fluid system can be configured to pump fluid to a sheath portion and a catheter portion of a catheter blood pump. The fluid system can include a console having one or more pumps for providing fluid flow to the catheter blood pump. A return waste line may return from the catheter blood pump. A removable fluid cassette that directs fluid flow may be coupled to the console. The blood pump may include a pump portion that includes a collapsible blood conduit defining a blood flow lumen between an inflow and an outflow. The pump portion may include a distal collapsible impeller axially spaced from a proximal collapsible impeller, at least a portion of each of the distal and proximal collapsible impellers disposed between the inflow and the outflow.
