Hybrid module cooling flow

A hybrid module housing includes a bulkhead. The bulkhead has a first radial channel for providing a clutch apply pressure, a second radial channel for providing a clutch cooling flow, and a third radial channel for providing a motor cooling flow. In an example embodiment, the third radial channel is arranged to be on a bottom half of the hybrid module housing when the hybrid module housing is installed in a vehicle. In an example embodiment, the first radial channel and the second radial channel are open at a radially outer surface of the bulkhead, and the third radial channel is sealed at the radially outer surface of the bulkhead. In an example embodiment, the third radial channel includes an axial passage open at a radial wall of the bulkhead.

The linear motor is disposed in a surrounding member (142) and facing a flow passage (142a) of a liquid for regulating temperature, and is provided with a coil unit (141) having at least a part thereof in contact with the liquid. The coil unit (141) is provided with a coil body (144), a mold layer (143) that covers the coil body and holds it in specific form, and a liquid protection layer (150) that covers the mold layer (143) and has liquid protection properties.

Stator Cooling For Electric Machines

A vehicle electric machine may include a rotor. The rotor may cooperate with a stator including a core having an end face, and end windings extending from the end face. A cooling tunnel may encase the end windings, sealing against the end face at opposing sides of the end windings, and defining an inlet configured to receive coolant. The cooling tunnel may be arranged to contain the coolant during passage over the end windings and direct the coolant toward an outlet.

ELECTRIC MACHINE

An electric motor has a first carrier having an array of electromagnetic elements and a second carrier having electromagnetic elements defining magnetic poles. The first and second carriers each define an axis. An airgap is formed between the first and second carriers when in an operational position. An inner thrust bearing connects the first and second carriers and is arranged to allow relative rotary motion of the carriers. An outer thrust bearing connects the first and second carriers and is arranged to allow relative rotary motion of the carriers. The electromagnetic elements of each of the first and second carriers are arranged radially inward of the outer thrust bearing and radially outward of the inner thrust bearing. The inner thrust bearing and the outer thrust bearing are arranged to maintain the airgap against a magnetic attraction of the electromagnetic elements of the first and second carriers.

PUMP MOTOR WITH A HEAT DISSIPATION CONTAINMENT SHELL
