In an electric motor, a brush holder stay (33) has an opening section through which a commutator (23) is able to be inserted in a rotary shaft direction (O1), brush holders (41) extend in the rotary shaft direction (O1) and are formed in a flat spring shape biased toward the inside in a radial direction, base end sections of the brush holders (41) are supported by the brush holder stay (33) at intervals in a circumferential direction around the rotary shaft (3), and brushes (31) are held by the front end sections of the brush holders (41).

Electromagnetic interference (EMI) suppression in a power tool

A power tool is provided including a housing and an electric motor disposed within the housing, where the electric motor includes a stator and an armature rotatably received within the stator, and the armature includes an armature shaft on which a commutator is mounted. The power tool includes a brush assembly disposed around the commutator. The brush assembly includes at least two brushes in contact with the commutator and a circuit board mounted on the brush assembly and in electrical contact with the brushes. The circuit board includes at least one electromagnetic interference (EMI) suppression component electrically mounted thereon, the EMI suppression component being electrically coupled to the brushes.

Electromagnetic interference (EMI) suppression in a power tool

A power tool is provided including a housing and an electric motor disposed within the housing, where the electric motor includes a stator and an armature rotatably received within the stator, and the armature includes an armature shaft on which a commutator is mounted. The power tool includes a brush assembly disposed around the commutator. The brush assembly includes at least two brushes in contact with the commutator and a circuit board mounted on the brush assembly and in electrical contact with the brushes. The circuit board includes at least one electromagnetic interference (EMI) suppression component electrically mounted thereon, the EMI suppression component being electrically coupled to the brushes.

Electric motor

An electric motor includes a yoke having a cylindrical section, two pairs of permanent magnets disposed at an inner circumferential surface of the cylindrical section to oppose each other, and an armature rotatably supported further inside in a radial direction than the permanent magnets, wherein at least a pair of first flat sections opposing each other in the radial direction are formed at the cylindrical section, and the permanent magnets are disposed at positions distant from the first flat sections.

A rotating electric machine includes a cover formed in a cylindrical shape and extending in an axial direction to cover the controller section, a lid section disposed inside of the cover body to seal the cover body, a first sealing member compressed between the lid section and the cover, and a second sealing member compressed in a different direction than the first sealing member between the cover and the first frame or the second frame. The rotating electric machine also includes a tab formed on an outer periphery of the first frame or the second frame, and a claw extending from the one end of the cover body and engageable with the tab to hold the sealing members in a compressed state. As a result, the rotating electric machine is sealed from dust and water.
