A heater that inhibits the formation of ice in an air gap separating a stationary stator and a rotatable rotor of a rotating machine. The heater includes a plurality of stringers configured to be arranged in associated winding slots of the associated stator adjacent the air gap, and extending between two ends of the heater. Each of the stringers includes two electrical resistance heating traces arranged between two electrical insulation layers that are arranged between two thermal conduction layers. The traces extend along an entire length of each of the stringers between the two ends of the heater. The traces are electrically isolated from each other.

When a rotational speed of the rotary electric machine is in a predetermined high-speed rotation state, in a case in which the temperature detected by the temperature detection unit is less than a predetermined value, the control unit controls the temperature control unit to increase the temperature of the rotary electric machine.

The cover section has formed therein notch sections, engagement grooves that extend toward one side in the circumferential direction from the ends of the notch sections on a Z1 direction side and with which the protrusions engage, and a stopper restricting movement of the cover member toward the other side in the circumferential direction. The widths of the notch sections are wider than the widths of the protrusions in the circumferential direction.

In a fully extended state of the toggle link mechanism, an upper die abuts an end surface of the laminated iron core to close openings of the magnet insertion holes and pressurize the laminated iron core in a laminating direction.
