Intravascular pump with controls and display screen on handle
The present invention provides an intravascular blood pump comprising a handle in operational connection and communication with a rotational motor and impeller assembly that is configured for placement and positioning within a patient's vasculature. The handle comprises a display for displaying real-time physiological parameters associated with the blood pump procedure and controls for modifying operational parameters. In some embodiments, the display portion of the handle may be connected and/or disconnected from the non-display portion to allow re-use of the display portion in subsequent blood pump procedures.
VENTRICULAR ASSISTANCE SYSTEM AND METHOD
A system for providing ventricular assistance to a heart of a subject, the system including a balloon configured to be inserted into a ventricle of the heart, wherein the balloon is configured to differentially inflate to thereby urge blood towards a semilunar valve of the ventricle; a fluid conduit in fluid communication with the balloon; a pumping mechanism attached to the fluid conduit; and, a controller configured to control the pumping mechanism to thereby selectively supply fluid into the balloon so as to inflate the balloon at least partially in accordance with the cardiac cycle.

DEVICE AND METHOD FOR DETERMINATION OF A CARDIAC OUTPUT FOR A CARDIAC ASSISTANCE SYSTEM
The invention relates to a device (105) for determining a cardiac output for a cardiac assist system (100), wherein the device (105) comprises a support structure (115) and a sensor device (120). The support structure (115) comprises at least one brace (125) and a connection section (130) for connecting the device (105) to an element (110, 112) of the cardiac assist system (100). The at least one brace (125) is connected to the connection section (130) and can be folded away from the element (110, 112). The sensor device (120) is coupled to the at least one brace (125) and configured to sense a blood stream.
APPARATUS, SYSTEMS, AND METHODS FOR PERCUTANEOUS PNEUMATIC CARDIAC ASSISTANCE
A cardiac assist system includes a pneumatic effector which is implanted beneath a pericardial sac and over a myocardial surface overlying the patient's left ventricle. A port is implanted and receives a percutaneously introduced cannula. The port is connected to supply a driving gas received from the cannula to the pneumatic effector. An external drive unit includes a pump assembly and control circuitry which operate the pump to actuate the pneumatic effector in response to the patient's sensed heart rhythm. A connecting tube has a pump end connected to the pump and a percutaneous port-connecting end attached to the implantable port.

The external transmitter apparatus is provided with power by a pulsed power supply. The coils of the external transmitter apparatus and the implantable receiver apparatus may be printed on flexible substrates. Also disclosed are methods of operating such a system, an external transmitter apparatus for use in such a system, an external transmitter apparatus and an implantable receiver apparatus including flexible coils.
Apparatus for extracorporeal blood treatment with automatic monitoring of respiratory rate
An apparatus and method for extracorporeal blood treatment, especially a dialysis apparatus, are disclosed, the apparatus includes a radar sensor for monitoring a patient located at a place of treatment.
Implantable blood pumps comprising a linear bearing
Systems and methods for generating blood flow with a pump incorporating linear bearing technology are provided. The pump may include an actuator assembly, a moving assembly, and a linear hydrodynamic or thin-film bearing positioned within a housing. The moving assembly may include at least one magnet and the actuator assembly may include a magnetic assembly for selectively generating a magnetic field to cause linear reciprocating movement of the moving assembly with respect to the actuator assembly. The linear hydrodynamic or thin-film bearing may include a bearing portion on the moving assembly that is in fluid communication with a bearing portion on the actuator assembly or pump housing. The system may involve an implantable pump, an extracorporeal battery and a controller coupled to the implantable pump. The implantable pump may be suitable for use as a left ventricular assist device (LVAD).
