Disclosed are a variable power motor and an intelligent controller therefor. The motor includes a rotor, a stator, a housing, stator windings and terminals. The stator windings are formed by embedding the same stator core into multiple series windings. Various series nodes of the stator windings, each serving as a power supply terminal with different power, are respectively led out individually. The various series windings of the stator respectively control, by means of the intelligent controller, the switching on and off of multiple switching switches. The soft-start and soft-stop of the motor can be realized, and a load is automatically tracked to regulate the power of the winding during operation, so as to obtain a power-saving effect.

A controller for a drive motor (60) of a product conveyor belt at a checkout has a phase-start cutting and/or phase-end cutting controller (50) that controls the drive motor (60) in such a manner that the product conveyor belt is accelerated with reduced torque from a non-driven state. A start controller controls the drive motor (60) in such a manner that the drive motor (60) initially drives with a non-reduced torque when accelerating the product conveyor belt from the non-driven state before the phase-start cutting and/or phase-end cutting controller (50) further accelerates the product conveyor belt with reduced torque.

Embodiments of a mixing device power system generally include a power control module, an AC motor, and a variable frequency drive, wherein upon application of AC power to the system, electrical power is provided to the power control module which transmits electrical power to the AC motor, whereby rotation of a mixing spindle is initiated. After the spindle has begun rotating, transmission of electrical power from the power control module to the AC motor is ceased, and substantially simultaneously electrical power transmission is commenced from the power control module to the variable frequency drive which transmits electrical power to the AC motor, whereby rotation of the mixing spindle is continued. A method of using the mixing device power system to mix a fluid sample is also provided.
