Rotary drive system, method for controlling an inverter and associated computer program
A rotary drive system having a voltage source and an electric motor. The motor has a stator with independent phases and a rotor, an inverter designed to connect each phase to the voltage source in order to generate phase currents, and a device for controlling the inverter. The control device includes a unit for determining whether the fundamental frequency of the phase currents is lower than a frequency threshold equal to, at the most, 100 Hz, and a unit for generating a command, configured such that, when the fundamental frequency is determine as being lower than the frequency threshold, the command causes the appearance of a homopolar component in the phase currents.
High efficiency roller shade and method for setting artificial stops
The present invention advantageously provides a motorized roller shade that includes a shade tube, a motor/controller unit and a power supply unit. The motor/controller unit is disposed within the shade tube, and includes a bearing, rotatably coupled to a support shaft, and a DC gear motor. The output shaft of the DC gear motor is coupled to the support shaft such that the output shaft and the support shaft do not rotate when the support shaft is attached to the mounting bracket.

OPENABLE AND CLOSABLE MEMBER CONTROL APPARATUS
In a power window apparatus, which controls a lifting mechanism to drive a window glass from an opening position toward a closing position, a control unit is capable of executing: an automatic closing process that controls the lifting mechanism such that the lifting mechanism keeps driving the window glass until the window glass reaches the closing position; and a normal closing process that controls the lifting mechanism such that the lifting mechanism drives the window glass toward the closing position only throughout a time period of receiving a user operational input through an operation switch. The control unit executes only the normal closing process between the automatic closing process and the normal closing process when the operation switch receives the user operational input while the window glass is located within a predetermined section in a movable range of the window glass.
Programmable System TDP With ASIC Power Capping
A programmable thermal dissipation power (TDP) system with integrated circuits is provided. The programmable TDP system includes a software interface, a monitoring circuit, and a controller circuit. The monitoring circuit may provide for the instantaneous input power supplied to the system. The controller circuit may monitor both the target TDP information specified from upstream and the input power readings. The controller circuit may generate a pulse-width modulation (PWM) signal that corresponds to a gap between the two power levels and sends the signal to the integrated circuits on the system. The integrated circuit may respond to the change in the input PWM signal and may adjust its power consumption. For example, the integrated circuit may adjust the clock frequency, adjust the instruction rate, skip a number of clock cycles, etc.

METHOD FOR BRAKING A COMPRESSOR, COMPRESSOR OF A REFRIGERATION APPLIANCE, AN AIR CONDITIONING APPLIANCE OR A HEAT PUMP, AND REFRIGERATION APPLIANCE, AIR CONDITIONING APPLIANCE OR HEAT PUMP HAVING THE COMPRESSOR
A method is provided for braking a compressor of a refrigeration appliance, of an air conditioning appliance or of a heat pump in which the compressor has a brushless motor with windings and a controller for braking the motor. The controller is configured to brake the brushless motor by using a braking current in a controlled manner starting from an operating rotational speed, in which the braking current during the controlled braking is dependent on induced voltages determined before the controlled braking. The method for braking includes rotating the motor at an operating rotational speed, receiving a signal for decelerating, braking or slowing down, determining voltages induced in the windings and supplying a braking current having a decreasing frequency to the windings, in which the braking current during the braking is dependent on the previously determined induced voltages. A compressor and a refrigeration appliance having the compressor are also provided.
FAN MOTOR STOPPING APPARATUS
A fan motor stopping apparatus includes a conversion circuit that converts alternating-current voltage supplied from an alternating-current power supply into direct-current voltage, a smoothing capacitor that is connected to a fan motor included in an air conditioner and smooths the direct-current voltage from the conversion circuit, a voltage detection circuit that detects a voltage across the smoothing capacitor, and a fan motor shutdown circuit that suspends the fan motor in operation when the voltage detection circuit detects a voltage less than or equal to a threshold that is preset for suspending the operation of the fan motor.

Active braking system for an autonomous mobile device
An autonomous mobile device (AMD) includes an active braking circuit able to quickly stop the movement of the AMD. For example, the device may stop to avoid an obstacle, upon determining a failure of an internal component, upon receipt of a command, and so forth. Responsive to a signal to stop, an active braking circuit uses sensor data from a driving motor moving with a first rotation to actively commutate that motor to an opposite rotation, bringing the AMD quickly to a stop. In some implementations, the active braking circuit may include an independent power source and motor drivers and operate as a backup to a primary braking system.
