ELECTRIC MOTOR CONTROL DEVICE

An electric motor control device includes an electronic control unit configured to perform switching control of a switching element of an inverter in PWM control mode when a modulation degree is less than a first predetermined value, perform switching control of the switching element in square wave control mode when the modulation degree is greater than or equal to a second predetermined value, and perform switching control of the switching element in intermediate control mode when the modulation degree is greater than or equal to the first predetermined value and less than the second predetermined value. The intermediate control mode uses a switching pattern in which, in a pulse pattern in the square wave control mode, a slit or a short pulse having the same width as the slit is formed according to whether a pulse is present at the time when a phase current crosses zero.

A sensor is configured to sense current, of one or more output phases of an inverter, associated with back electromotive force (back EMF) of the machine. A converter or electronic data processor is adapted to convert the sensed current into current vectors associated with a stationary reference frame. An estimator or current model is configured to estimate back-EMF vectors from the converted current vectors. A vector tracking observer or the electronic data processor is adapted to mix the back-EMF vectors and applying the mixed back-EMF vectors to a preliminary inertial model. A secondary observer or the data processor is operable to apply the output of the preliminary inertial model to a secondary inertial model in the second speed range to estimate position or motion data for the rotor.

Control device

In a sensorless control of a motor, due to the characteristic of a response frequency, an induced voltage, a magnetic pole position estimation gain, a current control gain, and a speed control gain are closely related. An object of the invention is to enable the induced voltage and the frequency characteristic of a magnetic pole position estimation system to be clearly designed and to theoretically and quantitatively design all of the control gains necessary for the sensorless control so as to solve a problem that a method of designing those parameters cannot be established and the parameters have to be adjusted in a try and error manner. A control device has an estimator estimating an estimation induced voltage and a phase error of a motor by applying an induced-voltage observer and a controller controlling the motor on the basis of the estimation induced voltage and the phase error.

MOTOR CONTROLLER AND ELECTRIC POWER STEERING APPARATUS

To provide a motor controller and an electric power steering apparatus which can suppress torque fluctuation resulting from low detection resolution of angle, with simple calculation, even in condition where the rotational speed of motor is low. A motor controller estimates an angle error correlation value correlated with the angle detection error based on the current command value when a change frequency of the angle detection value is lower than a cutoff frequency of feedback control system which controls a rotation state; corrects the current command value or the angle detection value based on the estimation value of angle error correlation value; and changes the estimation value of angle error correlation value so that the absolute value of angle detection error increases with respect to increase in the current command value, and the absolute value of angle detection error decreases with respect to decrease in the current command value.
