FLOW PATH DEVICE AND BIOLOGICAL COMPONENT BAG SYSTEM
20220241471 · 2022-08-04 ·

A flow path device of a biological component bag system is equipped with a device main body. The device main body includes a first sheet and a second sheet, and flow paths are formed between the first sheet and the second sheet. The flow paths include a first flow path, a second flow path, a filter accommodating chamber, and a third flow path. In the device main body, flow path sealed portions that join the first sheet and the second sheet to each other in a liquid-tight manner are disposed along the flow paths.

Positive pressure inspiration device for delivery of medicaments
11413408 · 2022-08-16 ·

A respiratory system includes a nebulizer pneumatically connected to a breathing unit. A pressure sensitive mechanism detects negative pressure at the breathing unit due to inspiration and initiates nebulization. The nebulizer is configured to cease nebulization prior to the end of inspiration. Residual medicament disposed in the system is cleared from the system and delivered to the patient during the remainder of the inspiration cycle. A compressor provides positive pressure to aid delivery of medicaments to the patient.

Vented Dual Port Centrifuge Tube
20220226811 · 2022-07-21 ·

A vented dual port centrifuge tube includes a tubular receptacle having upper and lower ends. A first common inlet and outlet port is formed in the upper end and a second common inlet and outlet port is formed in the lower end. A piston is sealably and slidably mounted within a chamber of the receptacle. A vent is supported in the upper end of the receptacle and a flexible vent pipe attached to the piston is communicably interconnected between the vent and a lower region of the chamber between the piston and the lower end of the receptacle. Air pressure in the lower region of the receptacle is equalized or neutralized as biological fluids and separated constituent components are introduced into and aspirated from the receptacle through the common inlet ports.

Automated Splitting Of A Fluid Into Uneven Volumes
20220244093 · 2022-08-04 ·

A system for splitting a fluid includes a source support configured to support a source container and a satellite support configured to support a satellite container fluidly connected to the source container. A weight scale is associated with each of the supports. The system also includes a clamp system and a controller. The controller determines a plurality of possible distributions of the fluid between the source container and the satellite container based at least in part on the concentration or amount of said constituent and the combined weight measured by each weight scale, then controls the clamp system to selectively allow and prevent fluid flow from the source container to the satellite container so as to distribute the fluid between the source container and the satellite container according to one of the distributions, with at least one of the possible distributions being an uneven distribution of the fluid.

Collecting components of a fluid

Embodiments are described for separating/collecting components from a multi-component fluid such as whole blood. Some embodiments provide for controlling the amount of a component, such as platelets, introduced into a separation chamber to ensure that the density of fluid in the separation chamber does not exceed a particular value. This may provide for collecting purer components. Other embodiments may provide for determining a chamber flow rate based on a concentration of a component in the multi-component fluid, which may then be used to determine a centrifuge speed, to collect purer concentrated components.

KITS AND METHODS FOR PREPARING PATHOGEN-INACTIVATED PLATELET COMPOSITIONS
20220105250 · 2022-04-07 ·

Provided are methods for preparing pathogen-inactivated platelet compositions, as well as processing sets and compositions related thereto.

ISOLATION AND USE OF AUTOGENOUS PLATELET DERIVED EXOSOMES
20220079987 · 2022-03-17 ·

Disclosed are compositions and methods for the isolation of platelet derived exosomes. In some aspects the exosomes may be used to treat chronic orthopedic conditions without causing inflammation, may include extracting platelet-rich plasma (PRP) from whole blood; isolating platelets from the PRP; activating the platelets to induce the release of the exosomes; and isolating the exosomes by differential centrifugation.

The present invention relates to new plasma or new platelet-rich plasma preparations, new cell dissociation methods, new cell associations or compositions, a method of preparation thereof, a use thereof, devices for the preparation thereof and preparations containing such a platelet-rich plasma preparation and cell associations or compositions. Specifically, the invention provides plasma or platelet-rich plasma alone or in cell composition preparations for use in tissue regeneration and bone regeneration and pain reduction.

Blood component pooling device, system and method

A device for pooling a blood component stored in source containers includes a pump or pumps configured to pump a fluid in a first direction and a second direction and receive a pump line having a first end connected to the source containers. A pool clamp is configured to receive a pool line having a first end connected to a second end of the pump line and a second end connected to a pool container. A wash clamp is configured to receive a wash line having a first end connected to the second end of the pump line and a second end connected to a wash media container. A controller is configured to open the pool clamp, close the wash clamp and operate the pump in the first direction and to alternatively close the pool clamp, open the wash clamp and operate the pump in the second direction.
