A radiatively cooled solar array, including a downwardly-facing solar cell and a mirror positioned below the solar cell and oriented to direct sunlight onto the solar cell. The assembly also includes a heat sink in thermal communication with the solar cell and disposed opposite the mirror. The heat sink is in radiative communication through Earth's atmosphere with outer space.
Spring counter-balance assemblies and solar trackers incorporating spring counter-balance assemblies
A solar tracker assembly is provided which includes a support column, a torque tube or torsion beam connected to the support column, a mounting mechanism attached to the torque tube or torsion beam, a drive system connected to the torque tube or torsion beam, and a spring counter-balance assembly connected to the torque tube or torsion beam. An exemplary spring counter-balance assembly comprises a bearing housing and a bushing disposed within the bearing housing and configured to be slideably mounted onto the torque tube or torsion beam, and one or more compressible cords made of a flexible material. The compressible cords are located between the bushing and the bearing housing and provide damping during rotational movement of the solar tracker assembly. An exemplary spring counter-balance assembly is provided including at least one top bracket and at least one bottom bracket, at least one spring, a damper, and a bracket. An exemplary spring counter-balance assembly comprises a bearing housing and a bushing disposed within the bearing housing and configured to be slideably mounted onto the torque tube or torsion beam. The spring counter-balance assembly may include at least one coil spring and a rotational stop. The bushing may be made of an elastomeric material and define one or more air spaces.
Spring counter-balance assemblies and solar trackers incorporating spring counter-balance assemblies
A solar tracker assembly is provided which includes a support column, a torque tube or torsion beam connected to the support column, a mounting mechanism attached to the torque tube or torsion beam, a drive system connected to the torque tube or torsion beam, and a spring counter-balance assembly connected to the torque tube or torsion beam. An exemplary spring counter-balance assembly comprises a bearing housing and a bushing disposed within the bearing housing and configured to be slideably mounted onto the torque tube or torsion beam, and one or more compressible cords made of a flexible material. The compressible cords are located between the bushing and the bearing housing and provide damping during rotational movement of the solar tracker assembly. PV-OPTIMISER POWER SYSTEM FOR SUPPLY OF POWER FROM A PHOTOVOLTAIC INSTALLATION
A PV-optimiser power system for a photovoltaic installation for supply of power from a photovoltaic installation. The system includes a first DC/DC converter connected to a PV panel and to one or more energy storage modules, and a second DC/DC converter, connected in parallel to the PV panel in a string of PV panels of a PV installation, wherein the second DC/DC converter is configured to operate as an optimiser and execute a maximum power point tracking algorithm (MPPT) to determine the maximum power output of the PV panel of the plurality of the PV panels in the string.
SOLAR PANEL CARRIAGE
A solar panel carriage is disclosed. The solar panel carriage may include a cross-piece, a pivot shaft connected to the cross piece, a center hinging mechanism connected to the cross-piece, one or more arms extending outwardly from the cross-piece and connected to the cross piece the center hinging mechanism, a flange disposed at an end of the one or more arms, and, a knobbed bolt configured to be inserted through the flange, and through a first side of a solar panel, and threaded into the flange on a second side of the solar panel. The one or more arms of the solar panel carriage may be configured to fold into a position parallel to the cross-piece via a movement of the center hinging mechanism.
System and method for sorbtion distillation
A system for distilling water is disclosed. The system comprises a heat source, and a plurality of open-cycle adsorption stages, each stage comprising a plurality of beds and an evaporator and a condenser between a first bed and a second bed, wherein each bed comprises at least two vapor valves, a plurality of hollow tubes, a plurality of channels adapted for transferring water vapor to and from at least one of the condenser or the evaporator, a thermally conductive water vapor adsorbent, and wherein each vapor valve connects a bed to either the condenser or the evaporator.
System and method for sorbtion distillation
A system for distilling water is disclosed. The system comprises a heat source, and a plurality of open-cycle adsorption stages, each stage comprising a plurality of beds and an evaporator and a condenser between a first bed and a second bed, wherein each bed comprises at least two vapor valves, a plurality of hollow tubes, a plurality of channels adapted for transferring water vapor to and from at least one of the condenser or the evaporator, a thermally conductive water vapor adsorbent, and wherein each vapor valve connects a bed to either the condenser or the evaporator.

Apparatuses, systems, and methods are provided for controlling one or more assemblies of an energy generation system. The method may include selecting at least a portion of the one or more assemblies, transmitting at least one control signal associated with the selected at least a portion of the one or more assemblies, receiving the control signal at a communication module of the one or more assemblies, and modifying an operational parameter of the one or more assemblies responsive to the received control signal to avoid contact between the one or more assemblies and livestock. The operational parameter may be associated with a position of the at least a portion of the one or more assemblies relative to a ground surface. The operational parameter may additionally or alternatively be a range of angle of the at least a portion of the one or more assemblies.
