Cytopheresis cartridges and use thereof

The present invention relates to a cytopheretic cartridge for use in treating and/or preventing inflammatory conditions within a subject and to related methods. More particularly, the invention relates to a cytopheretic cartridge that includes a housing and, disposed within the housing, a solid support capable of sequestering activated leukocytes and/or platelets.

Filter and device including the same

A filter and a device including the filter may include a filter and a plurality of pores arranged two-dimensionally on the filter. The plurality of pores may include a plurality of first pores having a longer structure in a certain direction and a plurality of second pores having a longer structure in a direction different from that of the first pore. The first and second pores may have a two-dimensional arrangement in order to suppress or prevent the occurrence of cracks in the filter due to stress.

Provided herein are bedside systems and methods for performing customized cell-based therapies and treatments in a patient-connected, closed-loop continuous-flow manner, including cellular modifications and treatments, e.g., to produce chimeric antigen receptor-T (CAR-T) cells among other cellular modifications and treatments.

RIGID CHAMBER FOR CELL SEPARATION FROM A FLEXIBLE DISPOSABLE BAG
20210220533 · 2021-07-22 ·

Method consists of placing a flexible container within a rigid frame and expanding the container by pneumatic or hydraulic pressure such that the walls of the container conform to the inside walls of the rigid frame thus forming a well-defined chamber. The system has the capability of reducing the volume of the chamber by adjusting the distance between the walls of the rigid container. The methods and systems so described are applicable to closed sterile systems that employ immunomagnetic isolation or purging of components from blood products. By providing a fixed volume and at least one surface upon which targeted entities can be magnetically deposited, target cells in the case of positive isolations can be magnetically held, flushed with wash buffers over them to remove entrapped cells and finally the recovery of product of very high purifies and at high yields.

PROCESSING BLOOD

Methods (300), devices, and systems of processing blood are described. The method (300) comprises the steps of: obtaining (312) blood from a patient coupled to a single blood processing device to form a closed loop between the patient and the blood processing device; collecting (314) bulk mononuclear blood cells from the blood by leukapheresis implemented using the blood processing device in the closed loop; and enriching (316) concurrently target cells separated from non-target cells in the bulk mononuclear blood cells using the blood processing device in the closed loop.

Method and Apparatus for Mitigating Acute Reoxygenation Injury During Percutaneious Coronary Intervention
20210113757 · 2021-04-22 · ·

A system and methods are described for improving the management of ischemic cardiac tissue during acute coronary syndromes. The system combines a catheter-based sub-system which allows for simultaneous balloon dilation of a coronary artery and infusion of a carefully controlled perfusate during percutaneous coronary intervention. The system allows for modulation of levels of oxygen at the time of percutaneous intervention. In addition, catheters and systems are provided for administration of fluids with modified oxygen content during an intervention that incorporate upstream flow control members to compartmentalize the perfusion of the target coronary artery and the remainder of the heart.
