SYRINGE WITH VISUAL INDICATOR AND RETAINING ELEMENTS
The invention relates to a syringe with a visual indicator and retaining elements, which is used in the application of epidural anaesthesia. The syringe has the particularity of comprising a visual indicator located at the front end of a plunger that drives the fluid contained in the barrel, which visual indicator is an element in the form of a bellows comprising two discs with a membrane between the two discs, wherein the membrane can be deformed according to the pressure in the syringe. The syringe also comprises longitudinal lateral flanges on the body of the plunger, which have a surface with a plurality of teeth, wherein the plunger is rotatable relative to its axial axis, and wherein the teeth allow the plunger to be secured.
IMAGING SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR QUALITY AND DOSAGE CONTROL OF ANESTHETICS APPLIED BY A SPRAY NOZZLE
A device to check the quality and dosage of anesthetic dispensing device that is used for the application of anesthetic fluids using a spray nozzle is provided. This device can be adapted for use in the oral cavity and upper tracheal area of a medical patient prior to intubation of such patient. The present device comprises of a camera system, a stroboscopic lighting system, and an image analysis software.
Mandibular Anesthesia Curved Dental Needle
The present invention provides a curved needle design which deflects to an advantageous angle when inserted within the medial posterior soft tissue of the patient lower jaw. The deflected needle tip is more perpendicular to the vertical wall of the posterior ramus and promotes the needle tip contacting bone proximate to the inferior alveolar nerve prior to injection of anesthetic. The needle design also improves the tactile feedback to the dental practitioner as the needle penetrates tissue and contacts bone.
Active Agent Delivery Devices and Methods for Using the Same
Therapeutic agent delivery devices are provided. Aspects of the devices include an active agent composition and an actuator configured to deliver the active agent composition to a target delivery site. In some instances, aspects of the devices include a syringe comprising a viscous active agent composition, a needle operably coupled to the syringe and an actuator configured to deliver viscous active agent composition from the syringe through the needed to a target delivery site, such as an intravitreal site. In some instances, aspects of the devices include a sleeve comprising a solid formulation of the active agent; a needle operably coupled to the sleeve; and an actuator configured to move the solid formulation from the sleeve and through the needle, e.g., to an intravitreal location. In some instances, aspects of the devices include a syringe containing a composition for subcutaneous delivery, a needle operably coupled to the syringe, a motorized actuator configured to deliver the composition from the syringe through the needle to a target subcutaneous site, and a pain mitigation system. Also provided are methods of using the devices.
Device for Dispensing Medication for Migraine Treatment
The device for dispensing medication for the treatment of pain, such as head or migraine pain, may comprise a medication applicator and an activator. The medication applicator may store a medication and may dispense the medication as an aerosol mist. The medication applicator may be adapted to dispense the medication through a nostril of a user directed at the posterior nasal cavity. The activator may be operable to release the medication in multiple doses. A first dose may be dispensed upon a first activation of an actuation button, and subsequent doses may be dispensed upon additional activations of the actuation button. Each dose may comprise a predetermined volume of the medication. A safety interlock may prevent premature dispensing of the medication. The invention may be adapted for the user to self-administer the medication while the user is positioned in any preferred physical position.
CONTINUOUS ANESTHESIA NERVE CONDUCTION APPARATUS, SYSTEM AND METHOD THEREOF
The invention generally relates to a continuous anesthesia nerve conduction apparatus and method thereof, and more particularly to a method and system for use in administering a continuous flow or intermittent bolus of anesthetic agent to facilitate a continuous or prolonged nerve block. In one embodiment, the apparatus includes a sheath having a proximal end, a distal end and at least one lumen extending from the proximal end to the distal end. The sheath also includes an embedded conductive element for transmitting an electrical signal from a proximal portion of the sheath to a distal portion of the sheath. A cannula is arranged in the at least one lumen of the sheath and has a distal end protruding from a distal portion of the sheath. The cannula is electrically coupled to at least a portion of the embedded conductive element and is configured to provide nerve stimulation.
Medical vaporizer
A medical vaporizer includes a liquid drug reservoir configured to receive and hold a liquid drug. A low power graphical display is configured to intermittently receive power. The low power graphical display is operable to visually present information and maintain the visual presentation of information in the absence of power. A controller is configured to intermittently receive power and upon receiving power the controller operates to determine a status of a medical vaporizer. The controller operates the low power graphical display to present the status of the medical vaporizer as visually presented information.
CATHETER HOUSING
A catheter housing device for securing a catheter and needle assembly to a patient. The device can include a cover, an IV/catheter lock, a hub, and one or more fastening straps. The device can replace conventional devices and techniques for securing a catheter and needle to a patient that utilize adhesive materials and/or methods, which are ill-equipped to solve complications including infection/contamination of the insertion site, irritation/damage to the vein or insertion site due to inappropriate angling of the catheter/needle, etc. The devices and methods disclosed herein can provide catheter/needle securement and optimal inclination, a hermetically sealed chamber to resist infection and/or contamination, inert gas or soothing anesthetic vapor drugs in and around the device, and various skin-contacting layers and structures that promote ventilation and patient comfort in and around the insertion site.
Child-resistant topical drug applicator and methods of use
Described herein is a child-resistant topical drug applicator and methods of applying a topical pharmaceutical composition to a surface. In one aspect, the child-resistant topical drug applicator comprises a container comprising a connector and a tube configured to contain a topical pharmaceutical composition, a sponge applicator fluidly coupled to the connector, and a child-resistant cap that reversibly couples to the connector and encloses the sponge applicator, the cap having a locked position and an unlocked position. Also described herein are methods of opening and using the child-resistant topical drug applicator.
Injection Device with Cammed Ram Assembly
An exemplary embodiment of injector includes a trigger mechanism, an energy source, and a user-operable firing-initiation member. The trigger member can include a trigger member having a retainer portion, and a ram assembly having a ram configured to pressurize a medicament container for expelling a medicament therefrom and a trigger engagement member configured to engage the retainer portion of the trigger member in a pre-firing condition. The energy source can be associated with the ram for powering the ram to expel the medicament, and the user-operable firing-initiation member can be operable for causing an axial rotation between the trigger engagement member and the retainer portion from the pre-firing condition to a firing condition in which the trigger engagement member is released from the retainer portion to allow the energy source to fire the ram.
