PROTECTIVE COVER FOR A DENTAL SYRINGE NEEDLE
20200188604 · 2020-06-18 · ·

A protective dental needle includes a sheath having a cylindrical body with a channel along the cylindrical body. A needle assembly includes a hypodermic needle extending through a hub. The needle assembly is retained within the sheath and movable within the sheath between a retracted position and an extended position. A needle cap is positioned external to the sheath. The needle cap includes a plurality of longitudinal ribs that extend from an interior surface of the needle cap.

Adaptive brain-machine interface system for anesthesia delivery

A system for controlling a state of anesthesia of a patient. The system includes a neural sensor configured to be coupled to a patient and generate an output signal indicative of neural activity of the patient; and an electronic processor. The electronic processor is coupled to the neural sensor and to an infusion pump, and is configured to receive the output signal from the neural sensor, estimate a drug concentration of the patient based on a model including a first model parameter, and estimate a second model parameter based on the output signal from the neural sensor. The electronic processor is also configured to update the model for estimating the drug concentration of the patient with the second model parameter, and output control signals to the infusion pump to deliver a drug, the output signals being based on the estimated drug concentration for the patient and estimates of the parameters.

Method and apparatus for applying an anesthetic and bactericide

A method and an apparatus for applying an anesthetic includes a receptacle having an upper end, a substantially hollow interior, a lower end having a tube or nozzle extending therefrom, and an attachment for attaching to the barrel of a syringe or vice versa. The receptacle receives a container or canister containing an endothermic gas or vapor(propellant) that rapidly absorbs heat when released to the atmosphere. A depressible actuating member or trigger propels the gas or vapor through an outlet nozzle that is oriented to project a stream of gas or vapor along a delivery axis that intersects a delivery axis of the needle, therefore, the gas or vapor can be successively delivered to an injection site with minimal repositioning of the housing.

ADHESIVE EARPLUGS USEFUL FOR SEALING THE EAR CANAL

Systems and methods are provided for sealing an ear canal for retaining a solution in the ear canal. Adhesive earplugs are provided through which the solution can be delivered, and which, following delivery, retain the fluid in the ear canal. The systems and methods may also be useful for delivering an anesthetizing solution to the ear canal of a human patient and for maintaining the solution therein for use with an iontophoresis system for anesthetizing the tympanic membrane.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR AN ULTRASONICALLY DRIVEN ANESTHETIC VAPORIZER

Methods and systems are provided for delivering anesthetic agent to a patient. In one embodiment, an anesthetic vaporizer includes a sump configured to hold a liquid anesthetic agent; an ultrasonic transducer coupled to a bottom of the sump and at least partially disposed within the sump; a vaporizing chamber fluidically coupled to the sump; and a heating element coupled to the vaporizing chamber and configured to increase a temperature of a surface disposed within the vaporizing chamber.

COMBINED LIPOSUCTION METHOD

The invention relates to combined liposuction methods and can be used in surgical interventions to remove local fat deposits in the lower third of the face and neck. The method includes a preoperative examination of the patient when one or more areas of the lower third of the face and neck of the patient are designated as liposuction areas constituting the operative field. The contour boundaries of the operative field and at least one operative access point are determined. Uniform infiltration anesthesia of the adipose tissue to be removed in the liposuction areas is performed. From a Nd:YAG laser radiation source with a wavelength of 1064 nm, a Nd:YAG laser radiation with a wavelength of 1064 nm in a pulsed mode with a frequency of 50 Hz, with a pulse duration of 300 s and a power of the predetermined value is supplied directly to the adipose tissue to be removed.

DEVICE FOR PERFORMING REGIONAL ANESTHESIA

An anesthetic administration device comprising an infusion device, which is in fluid connection with a regional anesthetic needle by means of a feed tube. The infusion device comprises one or more anesthetic flow devices capable of triggering forward flow, and optionally backward flow, of the local anesthetic through the regional anesthetic needle. Forward, and optionally backward flow, of the local anesthetic through the regional anesthetic needle is controlled by a controller that comprises one or more actuator switches. The one or more actuator switches are positioned on the device 1 such that they may be operated by hand.
