PUMP OR ROTARY CUTTER FOR OPERATION IN A FLUID

The invention relates to a fluid pump or rotary cutter having at least one first element (9, 10) which can be brought from a transport slate into an operating state by changing at least one mechanical property. Such a pump can, for example, be a blood pump for the medical, microinvasive area. The object of achieving a transition between the transport state and the operating stale which is as comfortable as possible and in so doing leaving a freedom in the design of the corresponding apparatus, in particular of a pump, which is as large as possible, is achieved using the means of the invention in that the first element at least partly comprises a material (24, 25, 26, 27) or can be filled with a material or material mixture which passes through a chemical reaction, in particular cross-linking, or a crystallization for transition into the operating state.

The present invention relates to a patient interface (10) for delivering a flow of breathable gas to a patient (12), comprising: a sealing portion (22) for sealing an interface between the patient interface (10) and a patient's face when the patient (10) interface is worn by the patient (12); a detection unit (30) including a displacement sensor (32, 32) for generating a displacement signal including information on a displacement of the sealing portion (22) with respect to the patient's face relative to an identified reference position of the sealing portion (22) with respect to the patient's face; one or more actuators (36, 36, 36) for positioning at least parts of the sealing portion (22) relative to the patient's face; and a control unit (34) that is configured to actuate the one or more actuators (36, 36, 36) based on the displacement signal in order to adjust a position of at least parts of the sealing portion (22) with respect to the patient's face during use.

Aerosol delivery device with improved connectivity, airflow, and aerosol paths

The present disclosure provides an aerosol delivery device and a cartridge for an aerosol delivery device. In various implementations, the aerosol delivery device comprises a control device that includes an outer housing defining a cartridge receiving chamber, and further includes a power source and a control component, and a cartridge that includes a mouthpiece, a tank, a heating assembly, and a bottom cap. The mouthpiece defines an exit portal in an end thereof, and the tank is configured to contain a liquid composition therein. The cartridge is configured to be removably coupled with the receiving chamber of the control device, and the heating assembly defines a vaporization chamber and is configured to heat the liquid composition to generate an aerosol. The heating assembly comprises a substantially planar heating member and a liquid transport element, wherein the heating member is installed in a bowed orientation.

System and method for controlling administration of medical fluid
10463785 · 2019-11-05 · ·

A system for controlling administration of medical fluid includes a fluid passageway to which is attached a first flow regulator, a second flow regulator, and a flow detector. The system also includes a controller for controlling the first and second flow regulators in response to a measurement taken by the flow detector of fluid movement in the fluid passageway. The first flow regulator, such as a pump, is configured to maintain fluid movement at flow values greater than an unrestricted flow value. The second flow regulator, such as a variable adjustable valve, is configured to maintain fluid movement at a flow value less than the unrestricted flow value. A method of controlling administration of medical fluid includes obtaining a target flow value, moving fluid through the disposable assembly, taking a measurement of fluid movement in the disposable assembly, and actuating a flow regulating apparatus.

METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR MEDICAL DEVICE SECUREMENT, WOUND CLOSURE, AND WOUND/INCISION DRESSINGS

A treatment system includes a first interface having a first side that includes an adhesive and a second side that includes a first magnet. The first interface is configured to attach to skin of a patient such that the first magnet does not contact the skin. The system also includes a second interface that includes a medical device and a second magnet mounted to the medical device. The second magnet is configured to attach to the first magnet such that the medical device is secured to the patient.

Force feedback gripping device with magnetorheological based actuator

A force feedback gripping device employs a mechanical gripper (23), an electromagnetic actuator (22) and a force feedback controller (21). The mechanical gripper (23) is operable to be actuated to one of a plurality of gripping poses for gripping an object. The electromagnetic actuator (22) includes a magnetorheological elastomer (MRE), wherein the MRE is operable to be transitioned between a plurality of shapes dependent upon a variable strength of a magnetic field applied to the MRE, and wherein each shape of the MRE actuates the mechanical gripper (23) to one of the gripping poses. The force feedback controller (21) is operable to control the variable strength of the magnetic field applied to the MRE based on an estimation of a gripping force of the mechanical gripper (23) and on a sensing of a load force of the object responsive to the gripping force of the mechanical gripper (23).
