AGENT DELIVERY DEVICES
A medical device may comprise a handle and a flexible sheath extending from the handle. The sheath may include a first chamber configured to receive a first agent and a second chamber configured to receive a second agent. Each of the first chamber and the second chamber may be disposed in a distal portion of the sheath. The sheath may also include a first piston received within the first chamber and a second piston received within the second chamber and at least one actuation element configured to transmit a force from the handle to each of the first piston and the second piston. When the handle is in a first configuration, the first agent may be maintained within the first chamber and the second agent is maintained within the second chamber. When the handle is in a second configuration, the first agent may be released from the first chamber to mix with the second agent.
High Affinity Human Antibodies to Human Angiopoietin-2
The present invention provides antibodies that bind to angiopoietin-2 (Ang-2) and methods of using same. According to certain embodiments of the invention, the antibodies are fully human antibodies that bind to human Ang-2. The antibodies of the invention are useful, inter alia, for the treatment of diseases and disorders associated with one or more Ang-2 biological activities including angiogenesis.
FLEXIBLE PUMPING CHAMBER
The invention relates to the field of inhalation devices for liquids. In particular, the invention relates to a pumping chamber for such an inhalation device. A pumping unit for an inhalation device for medically active liquids for generation of an aerosol comprises a tubular member (1), a check valve (2), and a counter piece, said counter piece being configured to receive at least a downstream segment of said tubular member (1) and having an interior volume, wherein upstream of said tubular member (1), a reservoir (4) can be fluidically connected with said tubular member (1), and downstream of said counter piece, a nozzle unit (6) can be fluidically connected with said counter piece, and wherein the tubular member (1) comprises an upstream section, a downstream section, and the check valve (2) which is positioned between the upstream section and the downstream section, such that a pumping chamber with a pumping chamber volume is defined which comprises the volume of the downstream section of the tubular member (1) and said interior volume of the counter piece, and wherein tubular member (1) and the counter piece can move relatively to one another, such that the pumping chamber volume is variable. The tubular member (1) comprises at least two mechanically distinct parts (1A, 1B), wherein a first part (1A) provides said upstream section, and a second part (1B) provides said downstream section, and the first part (1A) and the second part (1B) are connected to each other such as to form an interface section (1C) serving as a valve chamber (2B) for the valve (2).
BABY/INFANT/TODDLER NASAL ASPIRATOR
Provided is a manually operated nasal aspirator having an elongated cylinder body and a piston. The cylinder body has a sidewall, a nozzle at a forward end, and an elongated slot extending longitudinally in the sidewall to a rearward end. The piston is configured to slide within the cylinder body between first and second positions and has an actuator laterally extending therefrom through the elongated slot. The piston is manually movable between the first and second positions by a user and is not biased by any other means so that it will rest at all positions between the first and second positions when not being manually manipulated. The cylinder has a length sufficient to fully contain the piston therein in both the first and second positions.
MEDICAL COOLING DEVICE AND COOLING METHOD USING THE SAME
An embodiment of the present invention provides a medical cooling device including a cooling medium configured to cool a target region through thermal contact with the target region, a cooling generator configured to supply cooling energy to the cooling medium, and a cooling medium accommodating unit that has one surface to which the cooling generator is attached and that is configured to thermally connect the cooling medium to the cooling generator, wherein a center-of-cooling-power region is disposed in a region where the cooling medium and the cooling medium accommodating unit overlap and has a center of cooling power which is a center with respect to thermal conductivity of the center-of-cooling-power region, and a distance from a front end of the cooling medium to the center of cooling power is less than or equal to 30 mm.
Manually-actuated reduced pressure treatment system having regulated pressure capabilities
A reduced pressure treatment apparatus includes a charging chamber storing a first pressure less than an ambient pressure and a regulated chamber storing a second pressure less than the ambient pressure. The first pressure is less than the second pressure. A conduit provides fluid communication between the regulated chamber and the charging chamber. A regulator member is operably associated with the conduit to prevent fluid communication through the conduit when the second pressure is less than or equal to a desired therapy pressure and to allow fluid communication through the conduit when the second pressure exceeds the desired therapy pressure.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PRODUCING FINE CONCENTRATED AEROSOL
The present disclosure generally relates to the field of nebulizers for aerosol generation and methods of using same for treating diseases and disorders.
PORTABLE PUMP FOR NEGATIVE PRESSURE WOUND THERAPY
A portable pump is provided for negative pressure wound therapy for drawing a vacuum from a wound site via a tube. The pump includes an inlet configured to attach the tube from the wound site; a canister in fluid communication with the inlet for collecting fluids drained from the wound site; and a manually-actuated pump mechanism for creating the vacuum. The pump mechanism includes a vacuum chamber in fluid communication with the canister; a piston disposed in the vacuum chamber; and a pump handle coupled to the piston to move the piston in the vacuum chamber between first and second positions to create the vacuum. The pump handle moving between a retracted position and an extended position. The piston is in the first position when said pump handle is in the retracted position and is in the second position when said pump handle is in the extended position.
MEDICAMENT DISPENSER SIMULATOR
A device (10) for simulating the dispensing of a medication into the nasal passage. The device includes a device body (12), the device body defining an extending portion (14) for inserting into the nasal passage of a user. An activation mechanism (16) movable from a start position to a dispensed position can be returned to the start position by manipulation of part of the device. Manipulation may be by rotation of a main part of the device body (12) relative to the extending portion (14).
MECHANICALLY ASSISTED INFLATION DEVICE HANDLE AND METHOD OF USE
