Infusion devices and methods are provided for a drug delivery system and can include an infusion needle (1) having a tip end (2) and a drive unit (D) coupled to the infusion needle and arranged for advancing the tip end of the infusion needle to penetrate any fibrosis when the infusion device is implanted in a patient's body. The infusion needle and drive unit are designed for implantation in a patient's body. Other components of the drug delivery system may be part of the implantable infusion device or, alternatively, be for extracorporal use cooperating with the implanted infusion device. Preferably, the infusion needle can be advanced and retracted with each infusion cycle. Furthermore, upon each advancement and/or retraction, the needle may be moved laterally so as to vary the injection site. Needle (1) and drive unit (D) are preferably disposed within a body (15), with the infusion needle being arranged for penetrating a self-sealing penetration membrane (18).

Medicament delivery device and method

A medicament delivery device is provided having an oral tubular section for placement in the mouth of a user and a nasal tubular section for placement in the naris of a user. A medicament located in a corrugated, or flexible, section joining the oral tubular section and the nasal tubular section is dispersed into the nasal cavity of the user by blowing into the oral tubular section. A pinch valve or a one way valve is used to prevent the user from accidentally inhaling the medicament. The medicament delivery device may also be used as a pulmonary delivery device into the mouth of a user.

NEBULIZER AND NEBULIZED ANTI-VIRALS

An antiviral medication which may be an aerosolizable formulation having a pharmaceutically active anti-viral compound present as a neutral compound selected from the group of free acid, free base, water insoluble salt and water insoluble ion pair); an excipient capable of forming a liquid complex with the pharmaceutically active anti-viral compound; and a polymeric surfactant suitable for pulmonary administration. A nebulizer to deliver the antiviral medication may have a compressed air chamber in communication with a medication chamber, the communication sealed by a spring valve in a rested state. A nebulizer chamber is in communication with the medication chamber, the nebulizer chamber having a pressure release orifice to deliver a stream the nebulized particle stream to the facemask and a continuously variable nebulizing pressure feed at the pressure release orifice.

PRESSURE REGULATING VALVE

A pressure regulating or pressure relief device comprises an inlet and an outlet chamber with an outlet. The inlet is in fluid communication with the outlet chamber. A valve seat is located between the inlet and the outlet. A valve member is biased to seal against the valve seat, and displaces from the valve seat by an inlet pressure at the inlet increasing above a pressure threshold to allow a flow of gases from the inlet to the outlet via the outlet chamber. The flow of gases through the outlet causes an outlet pressure in the outlet chamber to act on the valve member together with the inlet pressure to displace the valve member from the valve seat.

Declogging Method and System

A medical device includes a hollow tubular connector having a first open end and a second open end, the first open end configured to be connected to a suction port of a surgical cutting device, and the second open end configured to be connected to a source of pressurized air, the hollow tubular connector including a first seal located proximate the first open end and having a first diameter, the first seal being configured to sealingly accommodate a tubular shank, of a first diameter, of a blade of the surgical cutting device.
