Tensioning systems for footwear
The inventive subject matter shown and described is directed to an item of footwear with a tensioning system, comprising: a shell for enclosing a foot and at least a portion of a lower leg; a pair of opposing edges generally aligned along the top of foot portion of the shell and/or a front lower leg portion, the edges generally aligning with a longitudinal axis of the foot and/or lower leg, the opposing edges defining opposite sides of the shell; a foot retraction system comprising a tension path and at least two anchor points disposed along the path on the opposite sides of the shell and supporting at least one tensionable cable section disposed along the path, at least one anchor point comprising a tensioning mechanism, the tensioning mechanism allowing for adjustable tensioning of the cable section, the anchor points being arranged on opposite sides of the shell that support the edges, at least one being on a lateral or medial side of a boot and not on the top of the foot and front of the lower leg, so that tensioning of the cable causes the opposing edges to converge together. The inventive subject matter is particularly suitable for use in boots for snow and skating sports or any other such sport where sliding movement of the foot or leg relative to the item of footwear is undesirable and where secure coupling of the item to the foot and leg facilitates transfer of power to a board, ski, skate blade, set of skate wheels, etc., that is coupled to the item.
Sole structure for an article of footwear
A sole structure for an article of footwear includes one or more outsole portions. At least some of these outsole portions include a plurality of alternating upward-facing and downward-facing elongate channels. The channels may have a base and two sidewalls, with adjacent channels sharing a common sidewall. The bases of the downward-facing channels form an upper surface of the outsole portion and the bases of the upward-facing channels form a lower surface of the outsole portion. The sidewalls are arranged at non-perpendicular angles to the upper surface. A first outsole portion has a pressure-versus-strain curve having a local maximum at a trip point pressure value and a first strain value and wherein the pressure-versus-strain curve has a change in strain of at least approximately 10% before a second occurrence of the trip point pressure value is reached. An article of footwear having the sole structure attached to an upper is also provided.
Skate boot and method of manufacture
A skate boot includes a boot shell having first and second opposite side portions cooperating to define a foot receiving opening therebetween. The first and second side portions have a facing portion extending from the foot receiving opening. A band having a first end portion is received in the boot shell and attached to the boot shell at or adjacent the second side portion. The band extends across an interior of the boot shell and is slidingly received through an opening defined in the first side portion so as to have a second end portion of the band extending outside of the boot shell. The second end portion of the band defines an aperture for receiving a lace.
FOOTWEAR HAVING MOTORIZED ADJUSTMENT SYSTEM AND ELASTIC UPPER
An article of footwear may include an upper configured to receive a foot of a wearer, the upper including one or more elastic portions and one or more substantially inelastic portions. The footwear may further include a plurality of lace receiving members fixedly attached to an outer surface of the upper on the inelastic portions of the upper. Also, the footwear may include a sole structure fixedly attached to the upper. In addition, the footwear may include a motorized tensioning system including a motorized tightening device and a tensile member extending through the plurality of lace receiving members, the tightening device being configured to apply tension in the tensile member to adjust the size of an internal void defined by the article of footwear by drawing two or more of the plurality of lace receiving members closer to one another.
Intelligent insole module
The present disclosure provides an intelligent insole module. The intelligent insole module is placed inside an insole for tracking a user's exercise behavior. The intelligent insole module comprises a sensing unit, a wireless unit, a control unit and a power supply unit. The sensing unit detects an exercise information. The wireless unit transmits the exercise information. The control unit is connected to the sensing unit and the wireless unit, and controls the sensing unit and the wireless unit. The power supply unit is connected to the control unit, and supplies electricity to the intelligent insole module. The power supply unit comprises a magnetic charging structure.
Curved Toe Cap Safety Boot
A curved toe cap safety boot for comfortably protecting all five toes includes a boot having a toe, a heel, a top, a bottom, an instep side, an outstep side, and a foot cavity extending between the toe, the heel, the top, the bottom, the instep side, and the outstep side. The top has an ankle aperture extending through to the foot cavity. A layered sole is disposed on the bottom of the boot. A toe cap disposed within the toe of the boot has a front portion, a medial portion, and a lateral portion. The medial portion extends a first length from the front portion to cover a hallux of a wearer. The lateral portion extends a second length from the front portion to cover a fifth phalange of the wearer. The first length is less than the second length.
ARTICLE OF FOOTWEAR HAVING A MIDSOLE WITH MULTIPLE PORTIONS AND METHOD OF MAKING THE SAME
Articles of footwear and soles are disclosed. The article of footwear may include an upper, a midsole with a midsole core and a midsole rim, and an outsole. The midsole core may be manufactured from a plurality of portions that are arranged in a particular order before being placed in a mold. The plurality of portions may be arranged so that the portions at least partially overlap each other. The plurality of portions may be arranged in longitudinal strips. The plurality of portions may be arranged in lateral portions. The plurality of portions may be adhered to each other before being placed in the mold. The mold may apply heat and pressure for a predetermined amount of time to form the midsole.
FOOTWEAR INSERT FORMED FROM A COMPOSITE ASSEMBLY HAVING ANTI-PUNCTURE AND ANISOTROPIC PROPERTIES
A footwear assembly having an upper configured to receive a foot and a sole assembly integrally connected to the upper. The sole assembly includes an outsole and a midsole coupled between the upper and the outsole. The sole assembly also includes a footwear insert coupled to the midsole having anisotropic and anti-puncture properties so as to provide protection, support, and stability to the foot of a wearer of the footwear assembly while still allowing for flexibility. The footwear insert is formed from a soft, dorsal layer having woven fabric, a hard, plantar layer formed from a fiber reinforced composite material bonded to the dorsal layer, and an interfacing polymer layer interposed between the dorsal and plantar layers and used to bond the two layers together. The layered arrangement has a high resistance to bending in a first direction and a low resistance to bending in an opposing second direction.
SOLE STRUCTURE WITH INTEGRATED CLEAT MEMBER AND METHODS OF MAKING
A sole structure with an integrated cleat member includes a plate member with a protruding portion that forms a first portion of the cleat member. A second portion of the cleat member is attached to the first portion and may be made of a less rigid material than the first portion. A supporting structure can be disposed inside the protruding portion. A method of forming the sole structure can include reshaping a portion of a plate member to form a protruding portion, molding a cleat tip portion onto the protruding portion and molding a supporting structure into a concave inner portion of the protruding portion.
