A circuit has a magnetic device to produce a pre-distorted signal from a sinusoidal input signal. The magnetic device has physical attributes selected to produce characteristics of the pre-distorted signal. A power amplifier is coupled to the magnetic device. The power amplifier processes the pre-distorted signal to produce an output signal with reduced nonlinear behavior associated with the power amplifier.

Enhancing the intermodulation performance of an RF power amplifier by determining a coarse time delay represented by an integer TI; determining a reference point for a transmitted signal waveform of the RF power amplifier; shifting the waveform by a set of offsets including a plurality of non-integer fractional steps; correlating the transmitted signal waveform with a feedback signal waveform to obtain a respective correlation value for each of corresponding fractional steps; obtaining an accurate fractional delay value by selecting a fractional step having a highest respective correlation value; applying the obtained correct fractional delay value to the transmitted signal waveform to provide a compensated transmitted signal waveform and combining the compensated transmitted signal waveform with the feedback signal waveform to reduce at least one intermodulation product of the RF power amplifier.

An apparatus for controlling the gain and phase of an input signal input to a power amplifier comprises a gain control loop configured to control the gain of the input signal based on power levels of the input signal and an amplified signal output by the power amplifier, to obtain a predetermined gain of the amplified signal, and a phase control loop configured to obtain an error signal related to a phase difference between a first signal derived from the input and a second signal derived from the amplified signal, and control the phase based on the error signal, to obtain a predetermined phase of the amplified signal. The phase control loop delays the first signal such that the delayed first signal and the second signal used to obtain the error signal correspond to the same part of the input signal. The apparatus may be included in a satellite.

HEARING DEVICE COMPRISING AN AMPLIFIER SYSTEM FOR MINIMIZING VARIATION IN AN ACOUSTICAL SIGNAL CAUSED BY VARIATION IN GAIN OF AN AMPLIFIER

The disclosure presents a method and an amplifier system for minimizing variation in an acoustical signal caused by variation in gain of an amplifier, comprising a battery for providing a supply voltage to the amplifier, a digital signal processor for providing the acoustical signal to the amplifier, a controller unit receiving an enablement signal when the supply voltage is in an offset mode, and based on the enablement signal requesting a measured voltage during a time period, and a first analog-to-digital converter configured for measuring the supply voltage to the amplifier when receiving the request from the controller unit or the first analog-to-digital converter is configured for measuring the supply voltage to the amplifier continuously, and where variations in the measured voltage relates to variations in the supply voltage during the time period. Furthermore, the controller unit is configured to predict offset modes (i.e. changes) in the supply voltage based on the enablement signals and a fitting of the measured voltages, and wherein the controller unit is configured to generate a compensating signal based on the fitting and transmit the compensating signal to the digital signal processor, the digital signal processor is then configured to minimize variation in the acoustical signal at the output of the amplifier by compensating the variation in gain of the amplifier based on the compensating signal.

Systems and method for improving operation of a radio frequency system are provided. One embodiment includes instructions to execute a coarse calibration to associate a first output power with a first operational parameter set; instruct the radio frequency system to transmit a signal based at least in part on the first operational parameter set and a base detrough function; determine performance metrics resulting from transmission of the signal; determine changes in the performance metrics resulting from operating the radio frequency based at least in part on the first operational parameter set and each of a plurality of augmented detrough functions; and associate a second operational parameter set with a second output power, in which the second operational parameter set includes one of the plurality of augmented detrough functions selected based at least in part on the changes that reduce margin between the performance metrics and performance metric thresholds.

Apparatus and method for digital pre-distortion in wireless communication system

Provided is a Digital Pre-Distortion (DPD) apparatus and method for processing a signal that is input to a power amplifier in a wireless communication system. The DPD apparatus includes a DPD unit configured to pre-distort an input signal that is input to the power amplifier, using DPD information; and a signal processor configured to capture signals for estimation of the DPD information from each of an input terminal and an output terminal of the power amplifier, detect peak signals of the captured signals, separate the detected peak signals into a plurality of intervals depending on a power level, separately store the detected peak signals, estimate the DPD information using the peak signals stored for each interval, and provide the estimated DPD information to the DPD unit.

Disclosed in an embodiment of the present application are a pre-distortion parameter obtaining method and pre-distortion system for simplifying calculating complexity of a model while achieving good signal processing effect. The method comprises: after the beginning of periodic filtering processing, obtaining a pre-distorted signal after pre-distortion processing and a first feedback signal after power amplification (S101); obtaining a second feedback signal by eliminating the rated linear gain of the first feedback signal (S102); determining a pre-distortion parameter according to a matrix formed by the second feedback signal and a matrix formed by the pre-distorted signal (S103); updating the pre-distortion parameter index table according to the determined pre-distortion parameter (104).
