Aerosol delivery device and operating method for the aerosol delivery device
The invention relates to an aerosol delivery device (10) comprising an aerosol generator (3) for generating an aerosol in the aerosol delivery device (10), a sensor (5) configured to detect a use of the aerosol delivery device (10) for aerosol treatment, and a controller (7) configured to deactivate the aerosol generator (3) if no use of the aerosol delivery device (10) for aerosol treatment is detected by the sensor (5). Further, the invention relates to a method for operating an aerosol delivery device (10), comprising the steps of operating an aerosol generator (3) for generating an aerosol in the aerosol delivery device (10), detecting a use of the aerosol delivery device (10) for aerosol treatment by means of a sensor (5), and deactivating the aerosol generator (3) by means of a controller (7) if no use of the aerosol delivery device (10) for aerosol treatment is detected by the sensor (5).
Automatic irrigation-coordinated lithotripsy
Systems and methods for controlling an irrigation flow rate during a lithotripsy procedure are provided. The system includes a laser configured for lithotripsy procedure, a lithotripsy irrigation system, and a temperature sensor configured to provide input to enable control of a flow of the lithotripsy irrigation system in response to a change in temperature from the operation of the laser.
NO delivery device with emergency dosing system
Disclosed is an NO delivery device for supplying an NO-containing gas, including an NO injection line, a flow rate measurement device and a valve device. The valve device is normally closed. An emergency line connected to the injection line includes an emergency solenoid valve, which is normally open, and a flow rate control device. An operating unit operates these elements. In the event of malfunction of the operating unit, the emergency solenoid valve passes to an open position, whilst the valve device passes to a closed position. The flow rate control device supplies the gas at a pre-fixed emergency flow rate of gas, determined on the basis of the gas flow rate measurements supplied by the flow rate measurement device during the normal functioning of the device prior to the malfunction. Gas supply installation including such an NO delivery device and a medical ventilator.
HEMODIALYSIS SYSTEM WITH DIALYSATE RECYCLING
The hemodialysis system with dialysate recycling uses a urea-adsorbing zeolite to remove urea from used dialysate, thus allowing the dialysate to be recycled. The hemodialysis system includes a housing and a dialyzer mounted on the housing. Similar to a conventional hemodialysis dialyzer, the dialyzer has blood inlet and blood outlet ports and dialysate inlet and dialysate outlet ports. The blood inlet port is adapted for receiving blood from the patient to be cleaned, and the blood outlet port is adapted for outputting cleaned blood, which is returned to the patient. A dialysate container may be mounted on the exterior of the housing and is adapted for receiving dialysate and the urea-adsorbing zeolite. Clean dialysate is fed from the dialysate container to the dialysate inlet port of the dialyzer, and used dialysate is recirculated from the dialysate outlet port of the dialyzer through the dialysate container.
DEVICE AND PROCESS FOR CONNECTING A PATIENT-SIDE COUPLING UNIT TO A SOURCE OR TO A SINK FOR A GAS
A connection device and process connect a patient-side coupling unit to a source/sink of a gas including oxygen. The connection device includes a valve device with a first valve (40.1) and with a second valve (40.2). A source-side fluid guide unit establishes a fluid connection between the source or the sink and the valve device. A patient-side fluid guide unit establishes a fluid connection between the patient-side coupling unit and the valve device. The valves are connected in parallel and are arranged between the two fluid guide units. A gas flows from the source through the first and/or second valve to the patient-side coupling unit or through the first and/or second valves to the sink. A control pressure is set at each valve. As a result, the time course of the volume flow downstream of the valve device follows a predefined time course.
PORTABLE OXYGEN FLOW REGULATOR
An apparatus for controlling the flow of oxygen to a patient comprises an outer housing extending between first and second ends having a passage therethrough. The housing composes a first portion extending from the first end towards the second end and a second portion extending from the second end towards the first end wherein the second portion is threadably rotatable relative to the first portion so as to longitudinally displaced relative to the first portion under rotation thereof so as to adjust at least a portion of the passage extending therethrough adjusting a flow capacity of the passage. The apparatus further comprises connectors at each of the first and second ends operable to connect to oxygen conduits to fluidically conned the oxygen conduits to the passage through the housing.
SYSTEM FOR USE IN THE APPLICATION AND REMOVAL OF TATTOOS AND OTHER SKIN TREATMENTS
An automated system featuring a system controller, an oscillation drive, a linear drive, a rotational drive, a flexible drive shaft, a handpiece, and a disposable cartridge used for the application or removal of tattoos and for use in skin treatment such as needling, skin tightening, aesthetic microneedling, and superficial dermabrasion procedures. A needle cartridge or plurality of blades may be couplable in modular configurations within the disposable cartridge. The automated system may also have a plurality of blades or needle bundles in various configurations couplable to the disposable cartridge selected in accordance to the skin treatment performed. The system may also include a physically integrated and functionally automated fluid pump with associated disposable fluid container and disposable feed tube. Alternately, the fluid pump may stand physically and functionally independent of the automated system.
INFUSION CATHETER WITH A BALLOON HAVING A SINGLE LUMEN AND AN INTERNAL WIRE, AND USES THEREOF
Balloon/infusion catheters comprise internal corewires within a single lumen structure in which the corewire can slide relative to the catheter tube within limits, and the balloon is attached to the catheter tube on one end and to the sliding corewire on the other end. The lumen provides fluid to inflate the balloon and to infuse fluid into the vessel proximal to the balloon. The infusion ports can have a polymer valve to limit infusion to lumen pressures at which the balloon is appropriately inflated. The balloon/infusion catheter can have an integral flow meter near its proximal end. Corresponding methods for use of the balloon/infusion catheter are described, such as for the delivery of hydraulic forces when used in conjunction with an aspiration catheter.
Delivery of gases to the nasal airway
A delivery device for and a method of delivering gases to the nasal airway, in particular therapeutic gases and gases in combination with active substances, either as powders or liquids, for enhanced uptake of the active substances.
Pumping fluid delivery systems and methods using force application assembly
A method of dispensing a therapeutic fluid from a line includes providing an inlet line connectable to an upstream fluid source. The inlet line is in downstream fluid communication with a pumping chamber. The pumping chamber has a pump outlet. The method also includes actuating a force application assembly so as to restrict retrograde flow of fluid through the inlet while pressurizing the pumping chamber to urge flow through the pump outlet. A corresponding system employs the method.
