A bubble continuous positive airway pressure device has a container having an inner space, an inner conduit mounted in the inner space for conducting an airflow, an outer conduit mounted around the inner conduit, a rack longitudinally mounted on the outer conduit, a gear disposed in the inner space and meshed with the rack, and a knobt. The inner conduit has an aperture. The outer conduit is longitudinally slidable relative to the inner conduit, and has at least one through hole connected with the aperture. The knob drives the gear to rotate and the gear drives the rack, so as to drive the outer conduit to slide downward or upward in the inner space. The bubble continuous positive airway pressure device prevents dust and bacteria in the ambient environment from polluting the liquid in the container when adjusting gas pressure, so as to ensure the patients' health.

Pressure measuring system

A pressure measuring system, including a tube system having at least one first device for measuring pressure in a fluid. The at least one first device includes a coupling element, at least one pressure transducer and at least one measuring chamber, which can be filled with a fluid. Between the first device and the feed of the fluid, the tube system has a second device for regulating a fluid flow, the second device having a tube section through which fluid can flow and at least one tube clamp, which can be set in the regulation positions open, closed and perfused.

APPARATUS AND METHOD TO PROVIDE BREATHING SUPPORT

A ventilator, or a breathing assistance apparatus, is disclosed to ventilate patients who may have breathing difficulties, said device comprising a inspiratory pressure control duct configured to be immersed in a first body of fluid; a positive end-expiratory pressure control duct configured to be immersed in a second body of fluid; at least one valve connected to the peak inspiratory pressure control duct and to the positive end-expiratory pressure control duct, and at least one controller communicably connected to the valve to control rate of cycling of the valve, thereby controlling number of breaths per minute, and to control the duration of peak inspiratory pressure also known as inspiratory time.

PRESSURE INDICATOR FOR AN OSCILLATING POSITIVE EXPIRATORY PRESSURE DEVICE

A pressure indicator for a respiratory treatment device, the pressure indicator including an instrument for measuring pressures, a conduit configured to transmit a pressure within the respiratory treatment device to the instrument, and a pressure stabilizer orifice positioned within the conduit.

Apparatus for performing peritoneal dialysis

The present invention relates to an apparatus for performing peritoneal dialysis, the apparatus comprising means for delivering dialysis fluid to the peritoneal cavity of a patient, a measurement device for measuring the fluid pressure of the delivered dialysis fluid and/or the fluid pressure in the peritoneal cavity, i.e. the intraperitoneal pressure and/or any pressure related thereto, and a control unit operably connected to said means and the measurement device, wherein the control unit is configured to effect an inflow or outflow phase encompassing a series of fill-and-measurement or drain-and-measurement steps, each step comprising delivering a predetermined quantity of dialysis fluid to the peritoneal cavity or draining a predetermined quantity of dialysis fluid from the peritoneal cavity and subsequently measuring and recording a pressure value.

Method and system for the administration of a pulmonary surfactant by atomization

A method and system according to preferred embodiments of the present invention allows optimizing the dispensing of aerosol medicaments. In particular the system according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention allows the administration of an exogenous pulmonary surfactant to very young patients (e.g. preterm neonates). A catheter 101 conveys atomized surfactant directly to the retro-pharyngeal region in order to increase efficiency of the medicament administration without being invasive: this is particularly important for very young patients, such as pre-term born neonates suffering from neonatal Respiratory Distress Syndrome (nRDS). According to a preferred embodiment of the present invention the catheter is made of biocompatible flexible material (e.g. plastic material). It is possible to couple the catheter with a rigid scaffolding (e.g. metallic) to increase stiffness of the device and to improve easiness of positioning operations. In a preferred embodiment of the present invention the delivery of the atomized medicament is done by means of an air blasting technique.

SUCTION DISCHARGE UNIT AND SUCTION DISCHARGE DEVICE

A suction discharge unit of a suction discharge device includes a first unit and a second unit. The second unit controls the pressure inside the first unit. The first unit includes a storage chamber and a water sealing chamber. The water sealing chamber includes a first chamber communicating with the storage chamber, and a second chamber is sealed from the first chamber by sealing water. A negative pressure control unit is disposed in the second chamber. The negative pressure control unit includes a liquid retaining part retaining a liquid, a control member including control holes, and a support tube supporting the control member. The negative pressure control unit controls the pressure of the first chamber by causing gas to flow from the second chamber into the first chamber via the control holes and the liquid based on the pressure of the second chamber and the pressure of the first chamber.

The present invention relates to a catheter for ventilating a patient, with a ventilation channel for alternately delivering and removing air and/or oxygen to and from the patient's airways, the catheter having a maximum external diameter of at most 6 mm, mm, and the ventilation channel having an open end, and a connector end for connection to a gas flow reversing element. According to the invention, the catheter is provided with means or elements for measuring the pressure outside the ventilation channel near the open end. The catheter preferably has a pressure measurement channel, with an open measurement end near the open end of the ventilation channel, and a measurement connector piece for connecting a pressure display device. Of particular advantage is a catheter with an expansion body (cuff) that is fluidically connected to a supply channel through which the expansion body can be increased or reduced in size by means of a fluid. The jet ventilation catheter according to the invention permits a novel ventilation principle that can be regarded as a bridge between classical jet ventilation and conventional controlled ventilation and that opens up possibilities for new and improved interventions in the airways.
