BREATHING ASSISTANCE APPARATUS WITH SERVICEABILITY FEATURES
A breathing assistance apparatus is configured with features that improve serviceability of the apparatus. The apparatus can include animations to provide instruction regarding correcting easily-identified fault conditions and to provide instruction regarding routine maintenance routines. The apparatus also can be configured with top level control menus that are obscured in a manner to limit manipulation of the top level control elements by unauthorized users.
Systems and methods for monitoring and controlling fluid balance during a biological fluid procedure
An extracorporeal photopheresis system includes a separator with a disposable fluid circuit including a treatment container, an irradiation device configured to treat the contents of the treatment container, and a controller configured to control the system to perform a procedure including drawing anticoagulated whole blood into the fluid circuit from a blood source and returning to the blood source a treated target cell component, a portion of a red blood cell component remaining in the fluid circuit, and/or a portion of a plasma component remaining in the fluid circuit. The controller is further configured to estimate an end-of-procedure fluid balance estimated based on manual or automatic inputs including a patient body weight associated with the blood source and a total blood volume of the blood source, indicate the fluid balance to an operator, and receive one or more changes that affect the fluid balance after indicating the fluid balance.
DRY BURNING DETECTION METHOD AND APPARATUS, DRY BURNING PROTECTION METHOD AND APPARATUS, AND VAPORIZER
A dry burning detection method, applied to a vaporizer, includes: obtaining vaporization parameters of a vaporization piece in real time, and calculating a variance between the vaporization parameters and a sample mean, the sample mean being a value representing a vaporization parameter level of a stable vaporization stage of the vaporizer; and determining that the vaporization piece is dry-burned if the variance is greater than a preset variance value corresponding to the vaporization parameter, the preset variance value being used for distinguishing a vaporization parameter fluctuation caused by vaporization dry burning and a vaporization parameter fluctuation caused by non-vaporization dry burning.
PRESSURE BASED TEMPERATURE CONTROL OF A VAPORIZER DEVICE
A vaporizer device (100) may be configured to adjust, based on ambient pressure, a setpoint temperature and/or a ramp rate of the vaporizer device. The setpoint temperature of the vaporizer device may be adjusted based on the ambient pressure in order to account for differences in the boiling point of a vaporizable material at different ambient pressures. Adjusting the setpoint temperature of the vaporizer device based on ambient pressure may further compensate for changes in the sensitivity of a user's taste buds in different ambient pressure and/or humidity environments. The ramp rate of the vaporizer device may be adjusted based on the ambient pressure such that the vaporizer device is able to achieve the higher boiling point of the vaporizable material in a higher ambient pressure environment in a same quantity of time as a lower boiling point of the vaporizable material in a lower ambient pressure environment.
PULMONARY EMBOLISM EXTRACTION DEVICE
A device for extracting arterial and pulmonary embolisms is described herein. The device comprises a suction catheter and a return catheter attached to a reservoir. The reservoir comprises two filters that filter out any unwanted material from the blood. The device may be controlled by a console with a pedal. Blood containing unwanted material is suctioned out of a patient, is filtered in the reservoir, and is returned to the patient. The device prevents blood loss from the patient by returning the blood back to the patient after it is filtered. Furthermore, the filtration system is designed to also remove air from the blood as it is suctioned from the patient.
Glucose level control system with therapy customization
Systems and methods are disclosed herein for providing a configuration code for customizing a glucose level control system for at least an initial period. The configuration code can be based on one or more dosing parameters from a tracked medicament therapy administered to a subject over a tracking period by the glucose level control system. The configuration code includes encoded dosing parameters including a correction dosing parameter based on at least some of the correction boluses of medicament administered during the tracking period, a food intake dosing parameter comprising an indication of a food intake bolus size of medicament based on one or more food intake boluses provided during the tracking period, and a basal dosing parameter based on at least some of the basal doses of medicament administered during the tracking period.
AUTOMATED PERITONEAL DIALYSIS SYSTEM HAVING LOAD CELL CALIBRATION
A dialysis machine operable with a disposable set having at least one container, the dialysis machine including a pump actuator operable to pump dialysis fluid to and/or from the at least one container; a weigh plate positioned to support the at least one container; a plurality of operational load cells positioned to support the weigh plate; a linear actuator positioned to apply a force to the weigh plate; a calibration load cell positioned to measure the force applied by the linear actuator; and a control unit in operable communication with the operational load cells, the linear actuator and the calibration load cell, the control unit configured to cause the linear actuator to apply the force to the weigh plate, compare resulting outputs from the operational load cells and the calibration load cell, and determine a calibration factor from the comparison for offsetting future outputs from the operational load cells.
Liquid medicament reservoir empty detection sensor and occlusion sensor for medicament delivery device
A low medicament sensor for a medicament delivery device having a reservoir, a pump, and a fluid path therebetween for medicament, the sensor including a switch and a snap dome. The snap dome is initially in contact with the switch, in fluid communication with the fluid path, and configured to snap out of contact with the switch when a pressure within the snap dome decreases below a predetermined pressure.
Liquid store for an inhaler, in particular for an electronic cigarette product
The invention relates to a liquid store for an inhaler (10), in particular for an electronic cigarette product, having an outlet end (53) which can be fluidically connected to a heating element (60) in order to evaporate liquid (50) supplied to the heating element (60) from the liquid store (18). The liquid store (18) has at least one air inlet end (52) and at least one channel (51). The channel (51) extends from the air inlet end (52) to the outlet end (53) through the liquid store (18), wherein the channel (51) is designed to transfer the liquid (50) stored in the liquid store (18) to the outlet end (53) through the channel (51) via capillary forces.
Push connector for vape cartridges
The present invention provides a connector for push-connecting a cartridge containing vaporizable material, such as a 510-cartridge, to a power-supplying device. The connector includes a housing containing electrical contacts, a cartridge-receiving end for receiving a conductive end of the cartridge, and a flexible, preferably silicone, ring connected to the cartridge receiving end of the housing for retaining the conductive end of the cartridge inserted therethrough against the electrical contacts. The ring is preferably part of a silicon boot that houses the housing.
