A sterilization and humidification apparatus includes a heating chamber, a filter and a humidification chamber. The heating chamber heats a gas so as to sterilize the gas. The humidification chamber is adapted so that a liquid, which has been filtered by the filter, evaporates into the sterilized gas, thereby causing the sterilized gas to cool, and outputting a humidified gas at a desired temperature. The apparatus may include a bypass chamber to provide a path for the gas to bypass the humidification chamber. The apparatus may be adapted particularly for use in an incubator.

In an embodiment, determining the vaporization state of the vaporizer according to the heating rate includes: obtaining a changing trend of the heating rate in a predetermined vaporization time; determining that the atomizing sheet is abnormal or the vaporizer is in a dry heating state in response to the heating rate being in an increasing trend in the predetermined vaporization time; and determining that the vaporizer enters a stable vaporization interval in the determined vaporization time in response to the heating rate being in a declining trend in the predetermined vaporization time.

An improved system and method of controlling the operation of a respiratory or surgical humidifier system that can provide humidified gases of substantially constant humidity in dependence upon only one monitored variable, being signals received from a temperature sensor. A power controller can be configured to control a level of power supplied to a heater plate in dependence upon heater plate temperature and a humidity profile so as to drive an operating point of the humidifier towards the humidity profile. The rate of change of a heater plate temperature setpoint can be variably controlled in dependence upon a heater plate temperature setpoint and heater plate temperature.

HYPERTHERMIC HUMIDIFICATION SYSTEM

Apparatus and methods for delivering humidified breathing gas to a patient are provided. The apparatus includes a humidification system configured to deliver humidified breathing gas to a patient. The humidification system includes a vapor transfer unit and a base unit. The vapor transfer unit includes a liquid passage, a breathing gas passage, and a vapor transfer device positioned to transfer vapor to the breathing gas passage from the liquid passage. The base unit includes a base unit that releasably engages the vapor transfer unit to enable reuse of the base unit and selective disposal of the vapor transfer unit. The liquid passage is not coupled to the base unit for liquid flow therebetween when the vapor transfer unit is received by the base unit.

This dialysis-fluid supply system, which mixes a diluent and at least two drugs to generate a dialysis fluid, and outputs said dialysis fluid, is provided with: two tanks which mix the drugs and the diluent to generate the dialysis fluid, and store said dialysis fluid; a water supply device and a drug supply device which supply the diluent and the drugs to each of the tanks; mechanisms for outputting, to a dialysis device, the dialysis fluid stored in each of the tanks; and a control unit for controlling the driving of these. During output of the dialysis fluid from at least one of the tanks, the control unit sequentially switches the supply destination tank for the drugs and the diluent, and the dialysis-fluid output source tank, between the two tanks in order to generate the dialysis fluid in the other tank.
