A blood treatment device for extracorporeal blood treatment and a method for monitoring the fill level of blood with the blood treatment device. The device includes at least one blood conducting system and at least one chamber container for separating bubbles from the blood to be treated. The device further includes a blood pumping device designed to pump the blood and generate pressure pulses with a predefined frequency in the blood conducting system. The blood treatment device additionally has at least one pressure detection sensor for capturing the pressure pulse introduced by the blood pumping device and a data processing unit designed to derive a fill level parameter from the pressure pulse captured and to modify the state of an information signal as a function of the fill level parameter. At least one alarm device is activated as a function of the state of the information signal.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR DETECTING USER INTERACTION WITH A RESPIRATORY THERAPY DEVICE
Disclosed are apparatus and methods of detecting user interaction with a respiratory therapy device and effecting an action in response to the detection. The apparatus comprises a sensor which is positioned so as to detect the presence of a user's hand or fingers near to the apparatus, such as a surface or handle. In embodiments the apparatus may be configured to detect gestures or movement of the user. On detection of a user, the apparatus may be configured to effect one or more actions, such as disabling a feature of an input or output device or alerting a user.
Systems and methods for split bolus protocol generation
Described is an injector system for implementing a split bolus injection procedure. The injector system includes a processor and a non-transitory storage medium having programming instructions stored therein that, when executed by the processor, enable the injector system to operate as a parameter generation system for use in determining parameters associated with a split bolus injection protocol via which injection of the contrast agent by the injector system is controlled. The split bolus injection protocol includes at least a loading injection and a diagnostic injection, wherein the loading injection is performed before the diagnostic injection, and wherein a pause separates the loading injection from the diagnostic injection. Also described is a method for patient imaging using a split bolus injection technique and a system having an imaging device and the injector system described above.

A medical treatment system, such as a peritoneal dialysis system, may include a control system and other features to enhance patient comfort and ease of use. For example, the peritoneal dialysis system may include the control system that can adjust a volume of fluid infused into a peritoneal cavity to prevent an intraperitoneal fluid volume from exceeding a pre-determined amount. The control system can adjust by adding one or more therapy cycles, allowing for fill volumes during each cycle of the one or more therapy cycles to be reduced. The control system may continue to allow the fluid to drain from the peritoneal cavity as completely as possible before starting the next therapy cycle of the one or more therapy cycles. The control system may also adjust a dwell time of the fluid within the peritoneal cavity during the one or more therapy cycles in order to complete a therapy within a scheduled time period. A cycler may also be configured to have a heater control system that monitors both a temperature of a heating tray and a temperature of a bag of dialysis fluid in order to bring a temperature of the dialysis fluid rapidly to a specified temperature, with minimal temperature overshoot.

A method of dispensing a therapeutic fluid from a line includes providing an inlet line connectable to an upstream fluid source. The inlet line is in downstream fluid communication with a pumping chamber. The pumping chamber has a pump outlet. The method also includes actuating a force application assembly so as to restrict retrograde flow of fluid through the inlet while pressurizing the pumping chamber to urge flow through the pump outlet. A corresponding system employs the method.
