A security tag can prohibit unauthorized usage of a device or product. The device may include an electronic nicotine delivery systems (“ENDS”) device, which may include aerosol delivery devices such as smoking articles that produce aerosol. The security tag can prevent usage until authorized. Attempts at usage without authorization can result in the device being unusable. The authorization may include identity confirmation or age verification.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR ANIMATING A SIMULATED FULL LIMB FOR AN AMPUTEE IN VIRTUAL REALITY
20230023609 · 2023-01-26 ·

A system and method for generating simulated full limb animations in real time based on sensor and tracking data. A computing environment for receiving and processing tracking data from one or more sensors, for mapping tracking data onto a 3D model having a skeletal hierarchy and a surface topology, and for rendering an avatar for display in virtual reality. A method for animating a full-bodied avatar from tracking data collected from an amputee. A means for determining, predicting, or modulating movements an amputee intends to make with his or her simulated full limb. A modified inverse kinematics method for arbitrarily and artificially overriding a position and orientation of a tracked end effector. Synchronous virtual reality therapeutic activities with predefined movement patterns that may modulate animations.

DRUG DELIVERY SYSTEMS, DEVICES, AND METHODS

Systems and methods of an electronic drug delivery system for use in a treatment program (e.g., a smoking cessation program). The delivery system can include a mobile platform and a hand-held inhalation delivery device having a controller circuit coupled to a power source, sensors, aerosolizer drivers, and a rescue button, and a pod removably coupled to the delivery device. The delivery system generates an aerosol mixture from substances in the pod in accordance with the treatment program, and delivers the aerosol mixture for inhalation by a user. The controller circuit individually and dynamically controls the aerosolizer drivers to generate signals that drive a plurality of thermal, or non-thermal, aerosolizers of the pod to generate individually tailored aerosol mixtures from multiple substances in the aerosolizer pod. The generated aerosol mixtures can have various percentages of the substances, and have different aerosol droplet sizes during different portions of the treatment program.

Gesture-based control of diabetes therapy

Devices, systems, and techniques for controlling delivery of therapy for diabetes are described. In one example, a system includes a wearable device configured to generate user activity data associated with an arm of a user; and one or more processors configured to: identify at least one gesture indicative of utilization of an injection device for preparation of an insulin injection based on the user activity data; based on the at least one identified gesture, generate information indicative of at least one of an amount or type of insulin dosage in the insulin injection by the injection device; compare the generated information to a criteria of a proper insulin injection; and output information indicative of whether the criteria is satisfied based on the comparison.

Methods and systems for reducing sound sensitivities and improving auditory processing, behavioral state regulation and social engagement behaviors
11559656 · 2023-01-24 · ·

Various embodiments are described herein to reduce sound sensitivities, improve state regulation, and/or reduce auditory processing and social engagement deficits in individuals with such deficiencies by recruiting the anti-masking functions of the middle ear muscles in order to optimize the transfer function of the middle ear for the processing of human speech. In certain embodiments, an individual may be subjected to a training protocol comprising one or more training sessions. During each training session, acoustic stimuli are provided to a subject for a period of time, with or without accompanying visual stimulation. A user response may be determined, for example, before beginning the protocol, during a session, after a session, and/or upon completion of the protocol. Such user response may be employed to adjust the acoustic stimulation, and the adjusted acoustic stimulation may be provided to the subject during a subsequent training session (or at a subsequent time within the same training session). The training protocol may end after a predetermined number of training sessions or upon achieving a desired user response. The training session may be characterized by a fixed protocol during which continuous stimulation is presented for a fixed period of time or by an interactive protocol during which the stimulation presentation is dependent on the reactions of the subject.

OPTIMIZING PERITONEAL DIALYSIS USING A PATIENT HAND-HELD SCANNING DEVICE
20230226262 · 2023-07-20 ·

A handheld personal communication apparatus for dialysis includes a reader to read a marking displayed on a dialysis fluid container to acquire data concerning a dialysis fluid type. The apparatus also includes a processor that uses the dialysis fluid type to determine a dialysis dwell time for at least one cycle of a dialysis therapy, the dialysis dwell time being a time to achieve, over the at least one cycle, at least one of (a) a specified ultrafiltrate level, (b) a urea removal level, or (c) a creatinine removal level. The apparatus further includes an output interface that provides an indication to the patient of a completion of the dialysis dwell time.

Respiratory assistance apparatus

A respiratory assistance apparatus includes a conduit connecting a flow generator and an outlet. The conduit includes a venture formation. The apparatus further includes an oxygen inlet in fluid communication or selective fluid communication with an oxygen outlet. The oxygen outlet is directed into the conduit and toward a mouth of the venture formation. The flow generator provides a flow path for air to enter the conduit when the flow generator is not operating.

System for extended reality visual contributions
