Securing communication between a wireless data communication accessory for a drug delivery device and an external device
A system comprising a wireless data communication accessory and a drug delivery device is disclosed, wherein the wireless data communication accessory is configured for data exchange with the drug delivery device and to secure data from the drug delivery device using cryptographic information assigned to the drug delivery device.
HYBRID INJECTION-PUMP INSULIN DELIVERY
The disclosed embodiments are directed to methods for determining, based on input from a manual insulin delivery device, for example, an insulin pen, a proper bolus dosing to be delivered by an AID system, to assess the sufficiency of the user-administered basal dose of long-acting insulin and to recommend any changes to the long-acting delivery following a daily analysis of the user's blood glucose readings.
INJECTION PENS FOR MEDICINE ADMINISTRATION
A medicine injection pen includes a body, a drive member, a cartridge housing, and a medicine cartridge retained within the cartridge housing. The drive member is configured to move relative to the body and the medicine cartridge defines an interior volume configured to retain a liquid medicine. The drive member is configured to translate a piston within the interior volume toward a dispensing end of the medicine cartridge to dispense at least some of the liquid medicine. The medicine cartridge also includes an insertion port configured to receive a medicine dispensing element therethrough for dispensing a liquid medicine into the interior volume to replace at least some of the liquid medicine dispensed through the dispensing end. Dispensing of the liquid medicine into the interior volume of the medicine cartridge applies a fluid pressure to the piston to translate the piston away from the dispensing end of the medicine cartridge.
System, method, and apparatus for electronic patient care
A system for electronic patient care includes a hub. The hub is configured to monitor a patient-care device. The sandbox may be configured to control access to at least one of a hardware resource and a software resource. The hub is further configured to identify the patient-care device and execute an application to monitor the patient-care device. The hub executes the application within the sandbox component such that the application accesses the at least one of the hardware resource and the software resource through the sandbox component. The hub may be further configured to control the patient-care device. The hub may be further configured to receive an identification from the patient-care device and download the application from a server associated with the identification. The hub may be further configured to receive an identification from the patient-care device and update the application from a server associated with the identification.
Drug device configured for wireless communication
This invention relates to an ingestible drug delivery device configured for wireless communication with other ingestible drug delivery devices.
Bone conduction apparatus
A device for providing vestibular and somatosensory stimulation through bone conduction of sound waves to skeletal bones is provided in the form of a pad that is applied to or wrapped around the individual in treatment, which is comfortable in use and may contain particulate filler material capable of providing bone conduction stimulation adjacent to the location of a bone conduction transducer and expand the sound conduction site over a larger area. The device may be located beneath a pillow or mattress.
PEN-TYPE DRUG INJECTION DEVICE WITH CONTROLLER AND TIME LOCK-OUT MECHANISM FOR ITS DRIVE
Some aspects of the present disclosure relate to a drive mechanism for a drug delivery device. The drive mechanism includes: a piston rod to operably engage with a piston of a cartridge to displace the piston in a distal direction during a dose dispensing action, at least one actuation member mechanically coupled with the piston rod to induce a distally directed displacement of the piston rod when actuated by a user, a control to ascertain at least one predefined condition of use, and at least one interlock member coupled with the control to mechanically obstruct displacement of the piston rod if the condition of use is not fulfilled.
AUTO-FIT MASK
Devices, systems, and methods for detecting a sealing condition between a patient interface and a patient, and adjusting the patient interface to maintain the patient interface in sealing contact with the patient. The patient interface may include a sealing structure to form a seal on the patient, and a positioning structure to secure the sealing structure to the patient. The patient interface may include a sensor coupled to the sealing structure. A processor determines the sealing condition between the sealing structure and the patient based on a signal from the sensor, and adjusts at least one of the sealing structure and the positioning structure to maintain the sealing structure in sealing contact with the patient. A prediction system predicts a leak between the sealing structure and the patient based on the sensor signal. A learning system learns how to fit the sealing structure to the patient to form a seal.
SYSTEMS FOR TRACKING MEDICATIONS
The present disclosure relates to integrated systems, methods and apparatuses for assisting individuals in managing acute life-threatening conditions. A system in accordance with the current disclosure may comprise an electronic circuit configured to be attached to a container of a medication and one or more devices in communication with the electronic circuit in a private network. In an aspect, the one or more devices may work in concert to determine the safety level of an individual based on predetermined usage settings. In some aspects, the system may be configured to determine whether a medication would expire before its manufactured expiry date. In another aspect, the system may assist an individual in locating a medication. In a further aspect, the system may determine whether an individual is having an anaphylactic reaction. In some aspects, the system may detect a known allergen and alert the individual.
MEDICINE INJECTION DEVICES, SYSTEMS, AND METHODS FOR MEDICINE ADMINISTRATION AND TRACKING
A medicine delivery and tracking system includes a medicine injection pen and a delivery port. The pen includes a needle through which medicine is dispensed and an electronic unit configured to at least one of log dispensing of medicine from the pen, control dispensing of medicine from the pen, or communicate regarding dispensing of medicine from the pen. Alternatively, the electronic unit may be part of a separate computing device. The delivery port is configured for attachment to a user and to receive the needle of the pen such that medicine dispensed from the pen is dispensed into the delivery port and through the delivery port to the user. The delivery port includes a detector mechanism configured to detect a presence of the pen and, in response thereto, to communicate a signal to the electronic unit for use in the at least one of logging, controlling, or communicating.
