In one implementation, the liquid delivery and atomization assembly comprises a liquid composition, an atomization assembly, and a liquid delivery component configured to transport at least a portion of the liquid composition to the atomization assembly. The liquid delivery component comprises at least one microchannel configured to deliver the portion of the liquid composition to the atomization assembly, and the microchannel includes a variable flow characteristic defined along at least a portion of the microchannel, the variable flow characteristic being configured to control the flow of the portion of liquid composition through the microchannel.
ADJUSTABLE SHUNTS WITH RESONANT CIRCUITS AND ASSOCIATED SYSTEMS AND METHODS
The present technology is generally directed to shunting systems having shape memory actuation elements that can selectively change a geometry of a shunting element to affect the flow of fluid therethrough. In some embodiments, the shape memory actuation elements are incorporated as part of an onboard resonant circuit. Activating the resonant circuit causes current to flow through the shape memory actuation element, thereby resistively heating the shape memory actuation element.
Elimination of viruses in blood through microwave techniques
Heat treatment apparatus for inactivating viruses in blood includes a series of four tubing coils with connectors at the opposite ends of the series for connecting the tubing to a blood source and a blood destination, a microwave heating chamber arranged to receive the first coil of the series, a dwell chamber to receive the second coil of the series, a cooling chamber adapted to receive the third coil of the series, and a microwave reheating chamber to receive the fourth coil of the series, with the first, second, and fourth chambers employing microwave energy for heating the blood as it flows within the coils and providing a radiometer circuit for monitoring the temperatures of the blood in the first, second, and fourth coils to produce first, second, and fourth temperature signals in response thereto, which is responded to by a controller to control the energy producing means to impart a selected time/temperature profile to the blood flowing through the tubing and to deliver that blood at a selected delivery temperature.
DEVICE AND METHOD FOR EXTRACTING AND ASPIRATING ACTIVE SUBSTANCES, ESPECIALLY FROM THE CANNABIS PLANT
The invention relates to a capsule for use in a vaporizer, having at least one first cavity formed at least in part by a lid, side walls and bottom of the capsule, and a vaporizable active substance accommodated in the first cavity of the capsule, wherein the side walls and/or the bottom are at least in sections double-walled with an inner wall facing the first cavity of the capsule and an outer wall facing the outside of the capsule, so that at least one second cavity is formed between the inner wall and the outer wall of the capsule, inner wall facing the first cavity of the capsule and an outer wall facing the outside of the capsule, so that at least one second cavity is formed between the inner wall and the outer wall, wherein an auxiliary substance, preferably a further active substance, a chemical reactant and/or a flavoring agent is accommodated in the second cavity. A corresponding vaporizer as well as a corresponding vaporizer system are further described.
SKIN THERAPY SYSTEMS
The disclosed invention provides a skin therapy system for skin conditioning or treatment of a body part. The skin therapy system includes a body part shaped encaser including a first and second film substrate and an encaser liner disposed between the first and second film substrates. An outer peripheral edge of the encaser liner is sealed between outer peripheral edges of the first and second film substrates to create a hermetic seal forming a first fillable space between the first film substrate and a first layer of the encaser liner, a second fillable space between the second film substrate and a second layer of the encaser liner, and an internal volume defined by the first and second layers of the encaser liner and disposed between the first and second fillable spaces. The skin therapy system further includes a therapeutic composition contained within the first and second fillable spaces.
DEVICE FOR TABLETING A POWDER, LIQUID, PASTE, ENCAPSULATED OR GRANULAR ACTIVE INGREDIENT COMPOSITION
The invention relates to a device for tabletting a powdered, liquid, pasty, encapsulated or granular active ingredient composition, having a magazine which has a plurality of active ingredient containers each with an individually controllable dosing device and a nozzle for the active ingredient outlet, wherein the magazine is adjustable between a plurality of setting positions relative to at least one die chamber, wherein in each of the setting positions at least one of the nozzles faces an opening of the die chamber. A corresponding method is further described.
PROCESS FOR PRODUCING A GASEOUS ACTIVE INGREDIENT OR A GASEOUS ACTIVE INGREDIENT MIXTURE, KIT FOR USE THEREIN AND GASEOUS COMPOSITION
The present invention relates to a kit comprising: a) a bag having an outlet, the outlet being closable and openable; b) a solid and/or liquid active agent precursor; and c) means for releasing a gaseous active agent or a gaseous active agent mixture from the active agent precursor; a method for producing a gaseous active agent or a gaseous active agent mixture comprising the steps: a) providing the kit; b) providing the solid and/or liquid active ingredient precursor in the bag; and c) releasing the gaseous active ingredient or the gaseous active ingredient mixture from the solid and/or liquid active ingredient precursor with the aid of the means for releasing a gaseous active ingredient or a gaseous active ingredient mixture, and a gaseous composition obtainable by the process.

Device and Method for Nerve Block by Local Cooling to Room Temperature
Provided herein are methods of nerve blockage, for example for treatment of obesity, heart failure, cardiovascular disease, muscle spasms, chronic pain, or urinary retention in a patient. The method comprises first heating a nerve above physiological temperature (e.g., 37° C. in a human), such as from 43° C. to 54° C. for a duration that leads to reversible nerve blockage as opposed to nerve damage. Second, reversible nerve blockage is produced by cooling the nerve below physiological temperature to a temperature in which reversible nerve blockage is achieved, for example from 15° C. to 30° C.
