Sedation device
A sedation device (1) has a housing (2) having a ventilator chamber (3) and an associated patient chamber (4) in communication with the ventilator chamber (3). A filter (5) is mounted between the ventilator chamber (3) and the patient chamber (4) and forms a common gas-permeable dividing wall between the ventilator chamber (3) and the patient chamber (4). An inlet port (6) is provided on the ventilator chamber (3) for connection via a Y-piece to a ventilator. An outlet port (9) of the patient chamber (4) connects via a patient breathing tube (10) with a patient. An associated pair of inserts are provided, namely a first insert (14) fixedly mounted in the ventilator chamber (3) and a second insert (15) fixedly mounted in the patient chamber (4). One or both of these inserts (14, 15) are mounted within the housing (2) to vary the internal volume of the housing (2) as required to suit different patients. The inserts (14, 15) are nestably engageable with an inner wall of the housing (2).
Hand-held fluid transfer device and system
A disposable transfer device has an injection device support surface for receiving an on-body injection device thereon and a flow path arrangement for transfer of fluid into the injection device, the transfer device being configured to define preferential gripping areas for user gripping of an injection device when such device is located on the support surface and interfering areas for interfering with user gripping of the injection device in the interfering areas.
Medical fluid injection apparatus and method with detachable patch and monitoring
Provided herein are systems and methods for monitoring one or more health or physiological parameters in a subject. The systems and methods may comprise a patch coupled to an injector. Data may be transmitted to a mobile device or remote server, where the data may be processed. Processed data may be used to inform a subject on a health or physiological condition.
Ambulatory device and components thereof
Certain embodiments provide multi-medicament or single medicament infusion systems for preventing the cross-channeling or improper delivery of medicaments. The system may include one or more of an infusion pump, medicament cartridges, cartridge connectors, a multi-channel fluid conduit, and an infusion set. The medicament cartridges may be sized and shaped differently such that the medicament reservoirs can only be inserted into the pump under selected configurations.
DIGITAL TWIN OF LUNG THAT IS CALIBRATED AND UPDATED WITH MECHANICAL VENTILATOR DATA AND BED-SIDE IMAGING INFORMATION FOR SAFE MECHANICAL VENTILATION
A mechanical ventilation device comprising at least one electronic controller configured to receive imaging data and transpulmonary pressure data associated with a lung of a patient; perform deformable image registration of the inhalation image and the exhalation image to produce a relative compliance or elasticity map of the lungs; convert the relative compliance or elasticity map of the lungs to a quantitative compliance or elasticity map of the lungs based on the inhale transpulmonary pressure and the exhale transpulmonary pressure; and display the information relating to or derived from the quantitative compliance or elasticity map on a display device.
SYSTEM AND METHOD OF PAIRING AN INFUSION PUMP WITH A REMOTE CONTROL DEVICE
Embodiments of the present disclosure enable a user-wearable infusion pump that may have a limited user interface including no display to be paired with a remote control device that can include a remote consumer electronic device such as a smartphone and/or a dedicated remote controller.
Aerosol devices and methods for inhaling a substance and uses thereof
Devices, cartridges, and method are described herein for emulating smoking wherein a device generates an aerosol for inhalation by a subject by heating a viscous material that can have a tactile response in the mouth or respiratory tract, while reducing Hoffman analytes and mutagenic compounds delivered to the user as compared to a common tobacco cigarette.
Encapsulation device, drug delivery device and emergency pack
An encapsulation device for use with a drug delivery device comprises a housing containing a syringe, wherein the encapsulation device comprises at least: a body and a cap, wherein the body has an inner surface forming a cavity configured to retain an end of an outer surface of the housing of the drug delivery device, and the cap has an inner surface forming a cavity configured to retain the opposite end of the drug delivery device, and, in an assembled state of the encapsulation device, the cap and the body are releasably interconnected with each other to encapsulate the drug delivery device.
UNOBTRUSIVE INTERFACE SYSTEM
A patient interface assembly includes a flexible cushion configured to sealingly engage the patient's nares and a frame with a pair of flexible extending members that extend laterally from opposite sides of the frame. The frame and the flexible cushion together form a chamber. The patient interface assembly also includes a positioning and stabilising structure configured to maintain the flexible cushion in engagement with the patient's nares. The positioning and stabilizing structure has a pair of headgear straps. Each headgear strap is connected to a respective one of the flexible extending members. The flexible extending members do not form an airflow path for the breathable gas. The headgear straps have a multi-layered structure, at least one layer being made of fabric and at least one layer being made of plastic. In addition, the at least one plastic layer is a rigidizer that adds rigidity to the respective headgear strap.
METHODS OF MAKING CATHETERS HAVING VISIBLE MARKERS FOR IDENTIFYING SOAKER REGIONS CONTAINING FLUID OPENINGS
A method of making a catheter includes obtaining a hollow tube having a proximal section, a distal section, an elongated conduit, and one or more fluid openings formed in the distal section of the hollow tube that are in fluid communication with the elongated lumen. The method includes inserting a mandrel within the elongated lumen, positioning a first visible marker over an outer surface of the hollow tube at a junction of the proximal and distal sections of the hollow tube, and placing a sacrificial material over the first visible marker to completely cover the first visible marker. Heat is applied for shrinking the sacrificial material, which, in turn, compresses the first visible marker against the outer surface of the hollow tube, and for least partially melting the first visible marker for fusing the first visible marker to the outer surface of the hollow tube.
