PROCESSES FOR UTILIZING SAFETY SYRINGE ASSEMBLIES
The processes for inserting fluid under the skin of a patient using a safety syringe assembly include initially locating an up-alignment marker. The marker is aligned with a bevel in the needle of the safety syringe assembly so the orientation of the needle bevel is always known by the medical professional, even when the needle bevel cannot be seen. The needle is inserted bevel up prior to insertion. Once inserted, the medical professional inverts the safety syringe assembly so that the bevel is down. This is done by merely flicking the wrist of the hand holding the safety syringe assembly. This prevents splash back of any body fluids from the patient to the medical professional. The same safety syringe assembly and the same process are used for withdrawing fluids from the body of the patient.
Injection Device with a Preselector
An injection device for setting and injecting a dose of a medicament is provided. The injection device includes: an elongated housing extending along a longitudinal axis (z) and comprising a sidewall, a dose tracker having a portion arranged inside the housing, the dose tracker comprising at least one tracking stop feature, wherein a positional state of the dose tracker relative to the housing is indicative of a size of the dose, and a preselector comprising a preselector stop feature. Wherein the tracking stop feature and the preselector stop feature are configured to mutually engage and to block a displacement of the dose tracker beyond a predefined maximum dose positional or rotational state. The preselector is at least one of translationally or rotationally displaceable relative to the housing along a displacement path between at least two preselection positional states.
Actuator Assembly for Drug Delivery System
A needle actuator assembly for a drug delivery system includes a housing, a needle having retracted and extended positions, a needle actuator body received within the housing and configured to move from a pre-use position where the needle is in the retracted position to a use position where the needle is in the extended position and to a post-use position where the needle is in the retracted position, with the needle actuator having a button contact surface, and an actuator button received by the housing.

Inhaler device
A device (20) is disclosed for dispensing a fluid supplied from an external fluid source. The device comprises a transducer (32) adapted to receive a fluid from the fluid source, and a collapsible linkage and trip link (502) coupling the transducer and the fluid source. The linkage has a collapsible joint inhibiting discharge of the fluid source when in a locked orientation. The device (20) further comprises a moveable member coupled to the linkage such that inhalation forces on the device cause the linkage to collapse thereby discharging the fluid from the fluid source. The device may further include a dose counter coupled to the fluid source for registering the amount of doses administered from the fluid source.
Method for assembling a drug delivery device and drug delivery device
A method for assembling a drug delivery device that includes mounting a cartridge with a bung, the mechanism, the plunger and the spring within a housing such that a spring biases a plunger in a dispensing direction and that a drum and/or the release member is attached to the plunger attaching a tool with torque measurement capability to the drum or a release member of a dose mechanism in a state where at least one housing part is detached from further housing part; setting a dose by rotating the dose setting member in a first direction, activating a trigger and monitoring the torque applied to the drum or the release member; releasing the trigger upon detection of a predetermined change in the torque measured by the tool; and releasing the tool and closing the housing.
Hypodermic syringe with vial attachments
A medical syringe apparatus includes a syringe unit, a hypodermic needle attached to the syringe unit and at least one interfacing member for mating a labeled medication container to the syringe unit. A filling needle is attached to the syringe unit for drawing fluid from a container. A movable needle sheath protects the hypodermic needle when not in use and may be moved out of the way when administering an injection. The medication label is visible. The container remains mated to the syringe when the syringe is in use. Risk of mislabeling the syringe may therefore be substantially reduced or eliminated and patient safety may accordingly be improved.
Rodent intubation system
A rodent intubation system includes a main body member including a first port, a second port and a third port. The main body member further includes a magnification lens of approximately 3 to 7 magnification power, which lens is rotatably connected to the main body member so that an animal being intubated may be viewed through the magnification lens during use of the system. An intubation catheter is releasably connected to one port. An inflation bulb is removably connected to another port. Yet another port of the three port system is sized and dimensioned to receive a fiber optic cable there through.
Systems and methods for administering medication
The syringe systems disclosed herein provide in part devices for allowing patients with compromised joint strength to more easily administer medicine. Certain exemplary syringe embodiments include a handle forming a handgrip, a syringe barrel that magnifies the dosage marks located on an inner barrel, and a tip cap slidably engageable with the syringe barrel for shielding a needle.
SYRINGE
A syringe includes a dosage chamber, which has a dispensing opening and a plunger opening. A plunger is located in the dosage chamber and is movable within the dosage chamber to enable partial withdrawal of the plunger from the dosage chamber through the plunger opening to draw medicine from a medicine container through the dispensing opening into the dosage chamber. The plunger is also movable towards the dispensing opening to dispense the dosage of medicine. The plunger has an open end to receive the medicine container and a plunger chamber sized to house the medicine container. A retainer secures the medicine container within the plunger chamber, and an identifier identifies information corresponding to at least one property of the medicine drawn from the medicine container.
